Looks like she does fantastic work from instagram and social media posts; however, I didn't end up moving forward with services because I got a bad vibe overall and felt I would be better off somewhere else. I came in for a consultation and there was a client already booked at the same time--red flag-- and then she did not look at or touch my hair the entire time. We sat in the lobby while she told me about potential styles and I explained to her what exactly I was looking for and how might be best to achieve that. I was initially indecisive on what I wanted to do and that's why you do a consultation in the first place, to figure out what's best suited for the health of your hair and desired style. Anyway, left even more confused than when I came in and felt there would be better and more helpful stylists to go with; just a warning for others. The experience I encountered with Jasmine was pleasant. At entry she greeted me then asked politlely that I wait in the waiting area. Within 5 minutes we were at the washing station. Jas is very nice, but she clearly doesn't have much experience with natural hair. It's a shame too given that all this info is on YouTube nowadays. I came here for a silk press. I knew I wouldn't have the best experience when her assistant put deep conditioner in my hair to detangle and was combing from the root. She wasn't sure how to get through knots either so she yanked them apart. After she washed the deep conditioner out, Jas told her to put me back under the dryer. Her idea is that if I'm under the dryer on low, she doesn't have to do as much work when she blow dries with the brush. Girl....what?? My hair was partially dry and shrunken, then she was raking through my dry hair with a paddle brush afterwards. I didn't realize I was tender headed until I came here. If my hair was wet and properly detangled, it wouldn't have been a problem. She did lots of passes with the flat iron, too. I was happy to get a professional cut from someone who isn't scissor happy, but I still spotted some broken ends when I got home, had product buildup on my scalp that wasn't washed off so therefore dandruff when it was dry, and my hair was super flat with no body or volume like I requested. All she did was bump the ends. I washed my hair a day later because of the itching and lifelessness of the situation. Maybe I went on a bad day, but I don't want to go back to find out. read more
