Our event was 2 hours long, and it was BYOB. Towards the back there are high chairs with seating so if you come early could grab those and settle down with your drinks. It did get a little warm in the afternoon as they turn the fans off during the performance, which makes total sense, but overall enjoyed our time here and would come back for another performance. It's also close to a ton of restaurants and cafe's, and the BART station is just a few blocks away. There is a parking lot around the corner if you're driving.

They created an intimate, world-class setting where the connection between the artist and the audience feels incredibly special. The service is always seamless, welcoming, and the cuisine is par excellence, making every night a major event. From a technical standpoint, I have to commend their sound team and production services. Acoustic design in a venue that doubles as a gorgeous dining space is no small feat. The top level clarity, flawless mix, and production values make it look effortless. It is easily one of the best-sounding rooms I've experienced. Can't wait to visit again!

The atmosphere and ambiance of Yoshi's restaurant is always relaxing and welcoming. The decor is beautiful! Vanessa was our server. She managed quite a few tables very well. I love that she introduced herself, welcomed us and shared menu items. The tiger shrimp was flavorful and delicious! The Spicy Miso Chicken was not spicy to me at all. The chicken was very moist and tender. The sauce added an extra layer of flavor. Those potatoes were so good! I'm not sure what they had that made them a little green, but again, they were so good. Enjoyed the Mortified Live event here this past Saturday and was really impressed with the venue…read more The place was spacious enough on two levels, but still had a cozy and intimate environment perfect for this show. And unlike the SF Mortified event I attended last month where most seats were reserved, this one seemed to offer ample seating first come first served, as well as a lovely outdoor courtyard with even more seating. Sound and lighting were ideal. The guest band, Hot and Dangerous, were hilarious and used lots of unconventional instruments along with catchy and comical lyrics, in between journal readings. They did amazing on stage, even though I missed the house band I saw at the previous show. There were bars on both levels, and just a small line at the downstairs bar before the event started. An hour in, there was no line or waiting at all. I tried one of their cocktail specials, the new parish punch, and absolutely loved it, strong and fruity with just a hint of spice, seems like they make good drinks here. Also, we arrived when the doors opened, an hour before showtime, and there was plenty of parking available just a block away.

The merch stand could be in a better spot, but this is an old theater and that wasn't a thing back when it was built. I was amazed by the size of the stage once I got to the floor. From the outside I had no idea how tall it would be. The balcony is huge and for some shows would be a great view. I was on the barricade singing along to New Constellations and The Midnight. It sounded so good and I can't wait to come back for another show!

After I got there and made my way up to the bar, I noticed that one of the other patrons had a drink menu with prices. So I asked to borrow it thinking that it was his own. It turns out that the bar had exactly 2 drink menus that everyone needed to share. Later, when the other guests ran off to the show (Jason Isbell) I grabbed a copy and took these photos. Outside of the snafu with the drink menu, everything was better than I expected. And everyone that works there is super friendly and welcoming. Keep up the good work TR people...

Expected to feel like we'd paid too much, but actually really enjoyed not waiting in a long line, getting a snack (pizza on this night), grabbing a few drinks and having comfy sofas to lounge on before going to find our seats. We also had access to a roped off area near the large bar just at the back of the general admission floor area, which was raised and where we had a clear view to the stage. We were also treated very well as we went back and forth from the lounge room to our seats, to the viewing area, etc. I'd do it again in a second. The only thing is I wish they'd announce what the snacks were going to be ahead of time. I feel like that could be easy to do and would be in line with their already good service. The concert was being shown in the Telegraph Room, too.

The crowd here is very young but it's a nice little spot to grab some drinks and enjoy some music. This the best and most ornate theater in the Bay Area. It was originally opened in 1931 as a grand…read moremovie palace (yes Palace!). The Art Deco Decor is everywhere, on every surface, with unique patented ceilings, gold leaf everywhere, art carved into the walls, period furniture, carpets, light fixtures, and a Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Organ (which can reproduce the sounds of a symphony orchestra, including percussion). Wandering around the theater looking at the hundreds of artistic elements in the decor is worth the price of admission. I have been here many times over the decades and each time I am in awe of the decor. You don't get tired of it. There is so much to see you can't see it all in many visits. I was here on Friday 17 July 2026 for a performance of the 1920 movie "The Mark of Zorro" with Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. This silent movie was accompanied by Mark Herman playing the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. Not only was the original Zorro (all the other Zorro movies are remakes of this one) movie very good, the music was fantastic. I was seated in the center of the balcony in the second row, perfect for the full sound experience of the mighty organ (whose pipes are level with the balcony on both the left and right walls just in front of the state). You can feel the music as well as hear it. (I did say the organ was Mighty!). This showing was part of the Paramount's summer classic movie series every Friday night. Get there at 6pm to explore the theater. Then there is a half hour concert of theater organ music, then the Cartoon Short (it was Tom and Jerry on this day). Then follows a prize drawing (Deco-Win) where based on the numbers drawn that match your ticket stub, you can win prizes. Then the movie follows. Everything here is perfect except one thing. The prices at the snack bar. There is a mandatory 20% service change and sales tax applied after the high menu prices. I had a cognac and some caramel corn and it cost about $32!!!. The price of the movie ticket was only $10. The theater is only a half a block from the BART 19th station (20th street exit), so BART is the best way to get to the theater.

The theater itself is absolutely beautiful and full of historic charm. You can definitely appreciate the craftsmanship and character of a venue that's been around for decades. My only challenge was accessibility. Because I require ADA accommodations, I found that there were quite a few stairs throughout the theater, and even the parking area involved navigating steps. I understand this is a historic building from the 1930s, so I know there are limitations, but I hope they continue looking for ways to improve accessibility wherever possible. What really made the experience positive was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating. No one rushed me as I made my way up the stairs, and they treated me with genuine courtesy throughout the evening. Overall, despite the accessibility challenges, we truly enjoyed the concert and had a great experience. The outstanding customer service made a big difference, and I'd certainly consider returning.

The bands sounded great, the place was packed to the gills, and the bartenders were trying to keep up with the steady flow of revelers. I didn't make it into the back room with stage and dance floor but heard it was a good time with lots of dancing and vibing. The front room was barely standing room and we were lucky enough to snag seats along the wall that is to Cheryl being there already! Drinks were strong and beer was fresh, I couldn't ask for more. I'm glad these East Bay institutions are still around.
