Today, June, 6, 2026 we decided to go to the San Leandro Cherry Festival. There wasn't much online about it and not too many pictures. But we gave it a try. There were a lot of booths that really had nothing. Unless you like community business stuff. But still a let down. The food was just alright. They had the food in two locations away from each other. My main complaint was the beer booth. It was in one and only one location. Ridiculous. The best part was the farmers market. The fruit was very tasty. And reasonable. It was terribly crowded as well. read more

2026 has been the best year to date. There was a plethora of vendors and business booths. Each year seems to be bigger and better. The parade starts at 10am. Participants meet up at the Bart station and they walk up to the library where the parade ends around 11am. After the parade everyone makes their way over to the festival. There is live music and local performances. Plenty of food trucks and famers market vendors. It's a beautiful family event. read more

Went to try something different. We drove around looking for parking. I didn't want to park in the Bart lot. Most are pay lots. Finally found street parking.(Didn't realize till we left that there were public parking lots on the blocks behind the festival. It was so crowded that we could barely walk. Don't think I've ever been to a street festival that was this congested. So we left. read more

It was my first time at The San Leandro Cherry Festival, an amazing experience and a perfect choice for the entire family. There were plenty of activities for both kids and adults, making it fun for everyone. The variety of craft vendors was fantastic, and the food vendors offered so many delicious options. The live music was nonstop and created such a wonderful summer vibe throughout the event. Everything was well organized, lively, and full of positive energy. I had such a wonderful time at the cherry festival today!! We came early and parked at the bart station so that was nice. We got here around 9:50am. We watched the entire parade as we walked up and down Parrot Street. The parade was from 10-11am. It was a bit cold this morning so we had to keep walking to stay warm, also good exercise! The actual festival was a lot bigger than I thought. It was our first time here. Tons of booths, vendors, organizations, activities, etc. We had a good time browsing around and had some lovely free samples of various cherries! Hehe. Enjoyed looking at all the arts & crafts vendors. We also enjoyed the live music stage. The performer was really good at singing! The other stage in the kid zone was entertaining too. We enjoyed seeing the little girls dance performances. I hope I get to come every year from now on. :) read more

It's now located a block from the Davis Bart Station, parking nearby is easier in the afternoon. The cherry festival has changed over the years. There used to be a lot of cherry food and merchandise. However, not anymore. I think they should promote if you're going to be selling there make sure it has to do with cherries.. I wanted to return home with a lot of cherry stuff!! Wasn't here for the latest cherry festival - but I remember these from years and years ago. These days if I really want fresh cherries I would be most likely to go to the Brentwood and pick them myself - but it is a time consuming all day kind of thing that I haven't done in years. If your like me your tired of all the bad produce out there. The big idea here is to have some of the best and most fresh. I'm really not sure how fruit you buy at a normal grocery store tastes so bad. Probably the cherries here are only half of the event. The other half is the festivity itself - the going with friends and family. I have memories of this as I said in the opening. Festivals, parades - people love that sort of thing. I had a great time at the Cherry Festival. I went with my husband and I to the festival. We all enjoyed walking around and looking at all the booths. We stopped at the corn dog booth and picked up a corn dog. My daughter said it was the best she has tried. I would come back to this festival again next year. I will come a little early to find parking, I got a little frustrated when I went to pay and I couldn't figure it out. Make sure you have coins or down load the app. Please go and enjoy yourself. read more

I wanted to attend the San Leandro Cherry Festival a couple years ago. At that time, I was trying to do two events on the same day - Carnaval at Mosswood Park and this festival. I was too tired after Carnaval. This year Carnaval at Mosswood Park was happening at the same time as the San Leandro Cherry Festival. I have never attended this event. Besides what lured me here was the main attraction of the Jets who would be performing on the stage. Then DJ Chuy Gomez would be emceeing. I convinced my husband to come along. This festival had plenty of vendors selling bing cherries, food, tie dyed clothing items, etc. Cherries range in price from $7.00 (small green basket), $14.00 (red basket) to $28.00 (large basket). Food vendors included Pinx Catering, JJ Sweets 'n Treats, Hokkaido Hawaiian Ice Cream, Pennsylvania Dutch Funnel Cakes. There was also the Cherry Shop selling sunglasses, wine glasses and red metal water bottles. I have to admit that this event is better than a certain one held during the summer season on Park Street in Alameda. Musically speaking the entertainment was better and the crowd more diverse. Indeed this event is fun and family oriented. Familia and buenisimo. I enjoyed myself. I look forward to the next San Leandro Cherry Festival. Of course, I will have to bring more cash despite the numerous ATM's available in the area. read more

Located in the heart of downtown San Leandro behind CVS/Safeway. Found free street parking a few blocks away in a residential area. Went in the afternoon so missed the parade. It was SO hot! Remember to wear sunblock and a hat. Medium sized festival with 2 stages. Lots of cherry vendors and people handing out samples. There were also food trucks, kid's rides and various booths selling pies/clothes/jewelry. Didn't get any cherries but bought a giant bag of kettle corn for $10! No dogs allowed. read more

It was sooooo hot but so much fun at the same time. My first time coming to the cherry festival and I'm glad I was able to attend this year. I read last year's reviews so I would know the best way to park and I'm glad I did because there was a ton of FREE parking by the library, just as I had read. Winning!!! There were tons of vendors, food trucks, arts and crafts for the kids, wristbands for those that are 21+ and want to indulge in some wine or beer... I decided on beer since the cups were bigger than the wine cups (gotta get your money worth right? lol). The line for 2 of the more popular beer companies were far too long in that heat so I chose the one with no line and well I'll be damned. They had better beer than the other two! I like sweet beer and the Cleophus company had a cherryland beer that was good and another beer (sorry I forgot the name) that had a sour taste in the beginning but wasn't over powerful. It was really good. A pleasant surprise. Goapele was this year's headliner and she did not disappoint, per usual. Hosted by Chuy Gomez. Everyone was dancing and having a great time. My high school volunteer experience always brought me to my beloved hometown's annual Cherry Festival. We're famous for these cherries and I'm happy that SL has done its best to retain its lore by keeping this festival running in its now 110th year. Back in the Day, the Cherry Festival used to take place by the Marina. Now they've moved it downtown and I think the decision was a welcome way. It's far more accessible and tight-knit now that it's here instead of being by the waters. A few cross-streets are blocked off so that pedestrians can walk through and enjoy the festivities. Some highlights: - The massive amounts of cherries available for purchase at the beginning of the market - The arts and crafts knick-knacks that you may purchase from individual local sellers - Free swag from SLUSD, SLPD, and more - Awesome performances and lively crowd Whether you understand the festival or not, it's still one of the best street fests in the East Bay and one that I'll continue to attend now that I am back home in Northern California. read more

I like the Cherry Festival . The City of San Leandro always puts a lot of Effort and Resources into it . This year was no different . After getting a full charge on my Ankle Bracelet . I jumped into my Whip and rolled to Downtown San Leandro . I found parking on a Side Street and Street Hiked to the Festival . At the Festival I started with the Farmers Market and got some fresh Cherries to snack on. I then went to the Arts and Crafts area where there are Arts and Crafts Vendors showing their wares . I stopped at the SLPD booth to look at their Demos and Displays very interesting. There was a Food Truck Row and Beer and Wine Booths on another street bordering the Main Stage. On the Main Stage they had Headliners Al B Sure and En Vogue . they both ended up Performing Later than Scheduled . But EN Vogue definitely put on a good show . They have a Kiddies area with Games and Carnival Rides . I enjoy going to this fair because its Drama Free and Low Key . read more

Very lively festival. Lots of kid stuff to do. Definitely worth the visit for the adults as well. The cherry stands are all the way to the back. A few famous cherry producers are in attendance. The likes of Gotelli Farms are here. The cherries are amazing! I go everywhere for cherries and this festival is loaded with two of my favorite ones. The Bing cherries and Rainer cherries! So sweet! Lots of usual festival food like my personal favorite the roast corn on the cob. Popcorn galore! Beers with the necessary identification are present. The presence of the police force is welcomed. You are allowed to look, sit inside one of their vehicles. Free parking across from the festival location in a covered garage. Very much appreciated. Nicely planned and executed event! It has been awhile since I have gone to the Cherry Festival which is a shame since it's in my hood. But it looks like I picked the right year to come back as it was much bigger than previous years and they had Pinx Catering who is SL based (love how Craig supports his town even though he is in high demand now) and the Bacon Bacon food truck!! We showed up shortly after 11 and was able to get prime parking. Since I already did my normal Farmers Market run, I already had gotten my cherries earlier that day and I have to say that I was glad I did. Surprisingly the ones at the cherry festival that I sampled were not only more expensive but not as sweet but it does make sense as hubby explained that they harvested large quantities for the festival whereas they can be pickier with getting enough for the FM only. I also wished that they have a container to discard the pits at the sample stations as people threw them on the floor which can be a hazard. Because I was there early, there was no line at the food yet and could not help having dessert first at Pinx with his cherry waffle a la mode!!!! Unfortunately I was not dressed correctly for the heat so we had to split after an hour or so intending to come back at 4 for Al B Sure and En Vogue. But parking was insane by then with people still streaming in late afternoon so since we had to be elsewhere at 6, we never made it back in. Kind of wish it was still held at the Marina so we could just bike there. But glad that they brought the festival back coupled with some awesome entertainment to bring more people into town!! read more

One of my favorite festivals in the East Bay with great vendors and live entertainment. There's no designated parking area, so you have to find a spot in the residential area or circle the Downtown San Leandro Safeway lot, which can take some time. (Another option is taking BART and walking a few blocks.) We came later in the day around 2 pm, so the lines weren't too long and there were still plenty of cherries left. All of the stalls were selling at the same price ($7 per lb). The cherries were gorgeous, super sweet, and I wish I had bought more to be honest. Down the street were a number of vendors selling honey, jewelry, toys, leather goods, clothing, etc. followed by food stalls, an art wall, the main stage, and a mini kids' amusement park area. One observation is that the vendors and local organizations on the side streets don't really get much foot traffic, so I would suggest finding a way to set them up closer to where everyone is or have signs to let people know that they're there. read more

The Cherry Festival is held in "downtown" San Leandro near the Pelton Plaza area. It's small in size, but they pack a lot into that little area. There's a kids area, a kids stage, lots of various booths, food booths, obviously cherries, a food truck area, a mini car show area, and usually an old school singer or band. Last year Al B. Sure was there. Parking can be a challenge if you get there later in the day, but the Festival is free, and a nice way to spend a Saturday. read more

My 1st Cherry Festival!! Goooo ME!!! I first heard about this festival through Yelp and thought I would come and check it out. I was worried about parking but I was lucky to drive down to the Library and notice that it was FREE parking for the Cherry Festival. They also had public parking available at the Creekside Plaza parking structure (1100 San Leandro Boulevard), Estudillo downtown parking garage (120 Estudillo), San Leandro Main Library (300 Estudillo), and throughout the City. This festival was only a one day event and was located in the heart of the City of San Leandro. At 10am they had a big parade at the San Leandro Boys & Girls Club, 401 Marina Blvd. Where the parade route runs north along San Leandro Blvd and turns east on W Estudillo Ave. I heard last year that venders were selling their cherries for $6 lbs. but this year it was $5 lbs. They had 4 different venders that were selling cherries. I wasn't to happy about the cherries and honestly I don't think it was nothing to brag about. I enjoyed seeing the different informational stands and the "Cherry Store" that was selling different cherry sauces! Tons of food venders and 3 different food trucks were there! Shout out to Bacon Bacon that was selling there good ol' Bacon burger. Didn't have nothing to do with cherries but it sure was good! LOL! Pinx was there and was selling there bomb Cherry waffles and Ice cream! I always get excited to see Pinx at a festival! Many different other varieties of food: Corndog, BBQ, Tacos and Burritos and Fish and fries. The line in order to get food was insane!! arghh! The event had some great entertainment as well that consisted of: MC and DJ Services by Chuy Gomez 11:00 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. The Best Intentions Mayor's Welcome 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Evolution (Journey Tribute) 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Latin Rhythm Boys 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Contest Winners Announcement: Pie, Poster 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Al B. Sure 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. En Vogue I was disappointed because I arrived at 4pm and the event was SUPPOSED to close at 6P.M. They were running EXTREMELY behind when it came to the entertainment and En Vogue didn't come on until 6P.M.! UGH!! Review #115 - 2016 We arrived at the Cherry Festival at around 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 4th, so the weather was already starting to get hot. We walked around and tasted a few cherries. The cherries were fresh and sweet so we decided to buy 2 lbs from one of the stands at $5/lb. I noticed a guy who had his dog with him at the same stand that we were at even though there were signs posted visibly all over saying "No Dogs Allowed". I even heard a kid ask his mom "I thought dogs weren't allowed?" Now, if a 5-year old can read and understand that sign, why can't a grown man respect that? I'll never understand some people... While we continued walking, we stopped at Mustache Mike's Italian Ice for a regular size cup for $4 each. My niece and I both really liked our mango flavor. My nephew had the da bomb, but he didn't finish it so I'm not sure if he enjoyed his as much as his sister and I enjoyed ours. My sister decided to purchase a mango-in-a-cup from Carmen's Taqueria for $6. She seemed to enjoy herself after squeezing some lime and sprinkling a load of peppers on it. The kids had a good time running around from one booth to the next, getting a few tattoos, some books and a bunch of other little knick knacks. There were some kids's rides, but we didn't want to wait in the 85-degree heat just for a few moments of fun. This is an annual festival that is all about CHERRIES! Cherries are everywhere, fresh, jams and pies. The fresh cheery selection is outstanding with multiple farms present. They sell crispy and sweet Bing and Rainier cherries reasonably priced. Aside from cherries, there are food stands and food trucks all over the place. Also many community services are present for information or for volunteering purposes. There are several merchants selling arts and crafts as well. This is definitely a place to bring your little ones too, as they have kid related fun events. There's also live music and CHEERRY crowd enjoying the numerous offering found at a typical festival. This is a great activity for kids. Lots of games and activities. However, if you have fur children, you need to leave them home. :( I went mainly to see if I can score some European sour cherries, but there are no growers of that variety in this area, I suppose. However, boatloads of bing cherries and other sweet varieties if you're into that. Same price as your average farmers market for the cherries, organic $6/pound, and conventional $5/pound. Other than cherries and cherry related sweets, they have a lot of food trucks, rides for kids, and crafts for sale. Also, live music on two different stages. read more

This year's Cherry Festival was a tad boring and where the f*** were all the cherries! A small part was devoted to the "farmer's market" section, where I got to sample sour, un-ripe cherries. Considering this was a "Cherry" Festival, the headliner was not represented well. Other streets were filled with arts/crafts booths, local organizations, and local churches. The biggest crowd was at the food area, which wasn't all that great either. They had one booth selling cherry pies, and one cart selling funnel cake with artificial cherry topping. For some reason, this year's Cherry Festival didn't live up to last year's, despite the fact that it was much larger than last year. I did have some saturday fun nonethless. My little one has performed twice at our town's annual street festival. Parking was at a premium due to this year's headliners EnVogue and Al B. Sure so arriving earlier in the day is a must. There were a few more cherry vendors than last year and more food trucks. We enjoyed some cherry lemonade. Chuy Gomez was holding it down as MC at the Royal Ann(concert) stage while Bumpin Beto provided Top 40 hits at the Cherry Blossom(local talent showcase) stage. The weather was great, sunny and warm. I didn't know what to expect because this was the first time I've attended this cherry festival. There were so many kinds of booths. Some of them where strictly informative while others booths had items or food being sold from them. There was an area for children to play or get creative. I even got cherries painted on my face. I loved it. If you didn't want to walk all over the festival, a train was available to ride. Went to the cherry festival and it was a blast. Parking was easy and free on Davis st. Went to the Mcdonalds nearby to by a 1.00 soda and use the restrooms before entering the festival. Free admission and lots of great cherry vendors. Wait till the end to but your cherries. 5.00/lbs throughout the festival but as it was winding down we got 3 pounds of cherries for $8.00. The bands were fun, especially the Romantics who were the headliner. So many hits and great to walk around. We ate the BBQ food truck and it wears both reasonable and filling. Found a nice table and chair with ample space and shade. Enjoyed a funnel cake dessert and the line were not too long. So glad to find this festival! We will be back next year for sure! read more

This year was my first time going to the Cherry Festival and I had a lot of fun! I actually ended up going twice - once after brunch and on my way back from some errands in SF. There were plenty of informational booths from the city and also a few food booths too. Yeah, there should've been more cherry-oriented food and booths but they were definitely trying after a 5 year hiatus. Toni, Tone, Tony even played for free so that was cool! My main gripe was that the Drake's Beer Booth sold out way too early and so there was a long line for the other beer booth. Hope they can be more prepared for that next time. read more
