The class instructors are probably the biggest asset to this gym. The other employees I have zero reaction with otherwise. Sometimes not even a greeting when checking in. I prefer the layout of this location as opposed to the other LAC locations around Louisville. It just flows a lot better for the way I use it. Also I like the Cardio Room better than the location on Taylorsville Rd. It's dark enough to watch a movie, but you can still see and get to the piece of equipment you'd like to use. It always seems clean and well maintained so I don't have any complaints really. Also I love the use of the sauna!

This situation involves the Louisville Athletic Club location managed by Tommy Dunn. I am using his name only to be clear that this concern is specific to his handling of the situation and should not reflect on every person connected to the gym or the broader management team. pThe week of April 13th 2026, an incident involving another member occurred at the gym. I was not the person who initiated or created the conflict. My involvement was limited to trying to notify someone that something had happened and that there was a problem that needed attention. The other person involved had been previously reported for similar and other incidents with no intervention from management. After the incident, we attempted to address the matter appropriately and privately. We made more than one attempt to resolve it in person. We also attempted to resolve it by phone. After that, we contacted the main phone numbers and email addresses publicly listed for the company connected to Louisville Athletic Club / LAC. Despite those repeated efforts, there was never a meaningful response, discussion, or resolution. The concern is not simply that an incident happened. The larger concern is how it was handled afterward. Rather than feeling that the matter was taken seriously or reviewed fairly, I was left feeling blamed, dismissed, and unsafe in the way the situation was managed. Tommy made comments to the effect that he has kids at home and does not need to deal with kids at the gym. He also stated that if anything else happened, he would call the police and have both parties removed, even though I had not been the source of the conflict and had only tried to report what had happened. I continue to go to the gym, but I no longer feel at ease there. I also no longer feel respected by, or respectful toward, the current manager's handling of this matter. We did not want to make this public. We attempted to reconcile and resolve it through the appropriate private avenues first: in person, by phone, and through the main contact information listed for the company. This review is being left only because all reasonable efforts to communicate privately were exhausted without any meaningful response or discussion.

Was told after that one "free class" I would hear from a team member by phone on monthly pricing til the end of the year (that was last November) After months of NOT hearing from a team member and $400 later, I discovered that i joined in November without signing any type of agreement or speaking with anyone on the phone. I guess they think it's OK to use people's debit cards to charge them monthly without their consent! After speaking with two of their team members about the situation, I was told it was a "he said, she said situation." Not quite sure what that means, but I know I will not be stepping back into a Pure Barre ever again!

The gym is well-lit and super clean. There's a ton of equipment as well as three designated areas for stretching, circuit, and functional workouts. Seemingly, there is a place for everything and everything is in its place. The staff is more engaged than other locations and seem to be working to keep the place up to spec. If you're a power lifter, you probably already know this isn't the gym for you. If you're into staying fit, the offerings here are almost certainly more than sufficient. If you're a black card member, the new massage chairs are awesome. Additionally, I like to think that they finally listened to me and put in a little inset shelf in the shower stalls where I can put my body wash. Thank you for that! This was a major upgrade from their old spot on L&C!

After my class I filled out the survey that was emailed to me which gave me the option to attend a second class for free. After my second class I was hooked and signed up. Shred 415 has multiple class pack options to purchase. The entire facility is very clean and the provide quality equipment to use in class. The bathroom has everything you would need to prep yourself after class.... showers, towels, hairdryer, dry shampoo, hair spray. I enjoy that the class is in a cool temperature controlled studio. I've never been disappointed with the music playlist chosen for a class. I always catch myself singing along or pushing myself harder because of the beat. Shred 415 offers one hour classes that are divided into intervals, alternating between treadmill drills and strength training. Most classes are the standard four 15 minute intervals. I like that some instructors switch it up and do six 10 minute intervals or 2 fifteen minutes, 2 ten minutes, and 2 five minute intervals. I like to rotate between starting on the treadmill or on the floor. I try to attend a class 3-4 times per week. Shred 415 uses the MindBody app to sign up for classes. Each day they list multiple times with the instructor and the type of class (total body, arms & abs, butt & legs). I prefer to work out in the morning and they offer multiple class times for me to pick from. Some class times even offer childcare during the class, and it's clearly marked on the MindBody app. My first class I made it very clear that I WILL NOT be running on the treadmills ... the owner and instructor assured me that the treadmill intervals will be at my own pace. Approaching the end of my first two months and I'm occasionally running on the treadmill while in class. I love the entire staff at Shred 415. When I walk in the front door the staff knows my name and checks me in. The instructors give name shout outs to encourage during class.... and sometimes hearing my name gives me that extra push that I needed! The owner, Kathleen, very friendly and present. She quickly responded to my emails and made signing up a breeze! Thank you to Kathleen and the entire staff for making my morning work outs great! Come give Shred 415 a chance!

The staff is super cool, the facility is very clean, the treadmills are the best I have ever been on and the work out will kick your butt. I love group fitness. There is something so motivating about pushing through tough work outs with a group of people with similar goals. You can start on the treadmill or start on the floor. I have done both now and I prefer starting on the treadmill. I love running so having an instructor push me to 8% incline with speed is a fantastic feeling. Don't be intimidated though- you can walk if you want. The floor work that I did was total body. It is as challenging as you make it. There is a bench, mat, dumbbells and bands. You will go through 15 minutes of strength training and then rotate again to the treadmill and then back to the floor. In an hour you get your total body strength and cardio done. They even have childcare onsite! For you busy parents out there- Shred 415 makes it easy to work out.

The trainer will walk you through the exercises at the beginning of each class and then they'll turn up high energy playlists for warm ups and the workouts.
