I love yoga, but always prefer something a bit more challenging so this was the perfect fit.... You will definitely be feeling it all over afterward!! The instructor has been great and will help each person in the class, no matter what their skill level is. I was definitely intimidated at first but found that both newbies and pros will be in these classes. I've seen that they also offer trampoline workouts, which is on my radar, but love the fact that they have these other unique options, too. I'll definitely be around a lot more in the future!

This is a women's fitness studio with trainers who are encouraging and supportive. There are…read moreclasses that focus on different muscles and the workouts change each month. The trainer will walk you through the exercises at the beginning of each class and then they'll turn up high energy playlists for warm ups and the workouts. There are four sections that you rotate between, each section has at least two exercises. So if you end up dreading one of the sections, you're only there for a few minutes. The trainers will take the time to help you with the exercises if you're struggling and suggest modifications to the workouts if you need them. The classes have made me much more comfortable with incorporating weights into my workouts. The only downside is that facility does not have a shower and the last classes during the week begin at 5:30 pm.

The team is in groups and each switches off to do those particular tasks. From my orientation class to have done over 75 classes now I will say I am addicted. They come out with packages all the time and challenges so we can stock up for the year but I do recommend this Pilates establishment out of the other big name ones in town. I absolutely love this place. don't know if I'll ever stop coming here. You just can't get the same experience somewhere else. The classes are so great because they have an intercom system with them, motivating you and telling you how to do something in TVs all along the walls showing you the movement and guiding you through the steps to make sure that you are accurately doing the workout correctly. Right after the new year I was sent an introductory offer, which I think they are still promoting, for an introductory class and 6 additional classes for $60! The caveat is that you have to use within 2 weeks. (After the intro session classes are around $25 or less, depending on the package you select). Of course I signed up and made it my mission to complete the classes. This is a new studio, that is clean, minimalist and beautiful. The studio is tucked upstairs of the shopping center near Thierman Lane. When you enter you are immediately greeted by staff and asked for your name to sign in. Merchandise, drinks, and socks are for sale at the desk. There is a small area to hang jackets and leave shoes. They also have a changing room in case you come right after work (like I often do)! While you wait for classes to begin there is a sitting area with a couch and two comfy chairs. Then the instructor comes out and greets you about 5 minutes before the class begins and invites you inside the studio. I think there are 16 reformers in the studio about 3 feet apart from each other. The instructors are very knowledgeable and help with form and pushing you until the movement is over. They also walk around at the beginning to chat with everyone. The classes are taught with through recorded exercise classes on TVs throughout the studio. It will suggest a spring range and they explain the movement. Reformer Pilates is little movements to tone and tighter the body. I have loved getting back into the classes and look forward to many more in the future. I only wish the classes were slightly longer - they run about 40 minutes with the stretch at the end. I would highly recommend if you've never tried it or are looking for a new routine.

As a female, I'm always a little hesitant entering a place that has no staff at certain hours, but I've never had a problem. All of the patrons here are polite, and I feel fairly comfortable going in at anytime. Clean towels, fairly good magazines, and spotless floors and equipment. Some people gawk at the price ($45 a month for 1 year contract) but I think it's perfect. You truly get your $$$ worth. I like supporting a local business, and If I have an issue, I can actually talk to someone instead of being given the run around, like with chain gyms.

I had been wanting to work with a personal trainer and came across The Factory Gym a few weeks ago…read more After realizing that it is located in my end of town that made me take the plunge as they are not only close to my house but offer personal training as well. I called and talked to the general manager, Tarek who was so very helpful, answered all my questions and encourage me to come in a take a tour of the gym. I had no idea that the gym has been there since 1984 about as long that we have lived in the south-end, across from the post office on Allmond Ave. The space is open with free weights, machines, a training area with all kinds of equipment to perform every exercise you could ever do. The staff are very friendly, plenty of parking right out side the door, men and women's locker rooms, a breakroom, healthy food options and a small kitchen. There are many bodybuilders who work out in the gym but everyone has been friendly and helpful if I have questions. Tarek hooked me up with Kayla, one of the trainers. You have to be a member of the gym to train there but they take Silver Sneakers so that is cool. I paid the gym directly for my training sessions and they cut you a deal if you pay for 8 sessions up front (one free). Kayla has been fantastic. As a body builder herself I feel confident in her workouts. She pushes me and I'm sore after our workouts but she is intent on preventing injury while building strength, mobility and balance. We had a couple of conversations prior to our first visit and she has tailored my sessions to work on my issues. I have finished 7 of my 8 sessions, going to the gym twice a week meeting with Kayla and what she wants me to focus on outside of our sessions together. She went out of town and sent me two workouts to do while she was gone. We will meet this week for our last session. I have been impressed with the facility, the staff and especially my trainer Kayla.

The current location is awesome... so spacious with so much equipment. Everyone is friendly and the staff is always so helpful, encouraging, knowledgeable, and will challenge you if need be. I've made several friends there as well, where we will hold each other accountable which also motivates you to keep going. Each day is a different designed workout for specific areas of the body with music playing through their systems. It's nice to not have to think about what you need to do at the gym that day or design your own workout or even try to push yourself. It's all there for you! They even have heart monitors you can check out/wear to track your heart rate and calories. The workouts: Sunday is core, Monday is total body, Tuesday is lower body, Wednesday is core & cardio, Thursday is upper body, Friday is a challenge day that will work your whole body, and Saturday offers an Advanced Camp, Yoga, and a free (with the donation of a canned good) :45 total body workout for anyone (that means non-members too). That free workout is called Get Fit Give Back. All the canned goods are then donated to Dare to Care. I love that they give back. The work outs are in :30 increments which helps members to stagger their start times. However, if you put two :30 workouts back to back, the hour will be all different... and then it will start over.
