I choose this studio for my wedding hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids. I am so glad I did, they were fantastic! I'm not a fancy person (don't wear makeup and rarely do something aside from straight or a pony tail with my hair. However. JoAnn made me feel so comfortable and helped me choose hair and makeup for my big day. The morning of she was so calm and kept checking on me to make sure I was happy with everything. She was absolutely fantastic. I will continue to go to this salon for my hair cuts as JoAnn is awesome! I showered up and apparently I moved me again to the 26th with a current neck issue. I'm so done with this place. They treat people as if people have nothing else going on in their lives and I have to take pre scheduled time off working for the government to make these appts. Studio J Salon is the absolute best. Being a woman, I've been to many salons throughout my life. None comes close to the personal service and at-home feeling like Studio J! The owner, Joanne has been doing my hair for years and recently did my hair for my wedding. She came in super early on a Saturday morning to make sure I could be ready in time and didn't make a big deal of it at all. This place is the best!!! Christa is my stylist and she's amazing. My hair goals were met when I went there. Christa listened to me and gave me her input on how to get what I wanted from my appointment. I got a new job and wanted a transformation in my hair so it would be easier to style for it and look professional. Christa worked with me to get what I wanted. She even walked me through step by step on how to style it. With her styling tips, I'm now going on day three without washing it and my hair STILL looks amazing and fresh. I really needed a massage but wasn't sure where to go so I yelped massage in the puyallup area and saw one review about this salon..so I checked out their website and decided to give them a try since it was so close to my house..I booked a 30 minute massage with Lienna and honestly was expecting to be sitting in one of those massage chairs, but to my surprise I got a little more than what I was ready for! The salon is hidden behind the bank but once I found it I was greeted by Lienne who offered me some hot tea or water...nice! Then she took me in this low lit room that was set up very cozy with a nice comfortable massage table..I got a great deep tissue massage from my head to my lower back! I was very impressed with the service and would recommend this place..you even get a punch card so that after your 5th massage your next one is free! Cool! I'm hooked! read more

Today I had my first ever salt scrub! I saw Jackie....she was awesome! Great personality, made me feel really comfortable and did a great service. To her I would give the rating of 'YAY, I'm a fan!'. The salon itself though was not the best - location was not great (behind a bank & next to an automotive store) and the salon itself wasn't clean :( Nothing irks me more than a dirty salon or spa! Wallpaper was peeling off, floor was dirty & overall was pretty messy. I dropped by this place in need of a facial. Staffs were very friendly and helpful however I wasnt really impressed with my results. Facial massage seems like it was done with lack of experience. My face was soft after all the nourishment that was applied but when I got home and washed my face it literally felt like it was the same before I walked in.... Rough and dry. Not to mention I had dry patches everywhere when I applied my foundation the next day. Really not worth the money. read more

This was my second visit to Studio J. Don't know why some remarks were made in previous reviews about the location. Super easy to find. Behind a bank? Big deal...nice and private. I went in for a foot massage and was expecting to be sitting in a chair. Nope...got escorted back to a private room and laid in a warm bed while I got a super, relaxing massage from Petra. I would highly recommend this spa. Prices are reasonable and service is great. No complaints here. read more

Came in here for a massage one time and I keep going back! I tired finding a place closer to home but none compare to Caitlyn! She is so great, especially if you like a deep tissue massage. I drive out here 30 minutes to keep seeing her. Very clean and professional salon. The only drawback is they sometimes have problems with scheduling/rescheduling and late appointments. But they make up for lost time so I can't complain! read more

I made an appointment for my daughter and I to celebrate her 18th birthday by having facials together. This was something very special to me. I was very clear to the guy on the phone that we wanted them done at the same time & in the same room. He assured me that that would happen. When I received a text from the salon showing 2 different appointment times, I immediately called in & asked the same guy I spoke with just 5 minutes before if he was absolutely sure our facials would be at the same time because that was not what the text said. He assured me that he just could not book the 2 appointments at the same time in the computer because the computer didn't work that way & that we would definitely be having our facials at the same time. Imagine my surprise when we arrived & were told that we could only have one facial done at a time. Of course, the guy who booked my appointment and the owner were not in at the time. I had my daughter do her facial anyway since it was her first facial and by the time she was done the owner came in. I spoke with the owner and told her how disappointed I was and what had happened and her response to me was just basically I'm really sorry. I can't believe that the owner did not offer a percentage off on a future service or anything. This was a big deal to me that this salon ruined. We will not return to this salon! This situation should have been made right by the owner! read more

I would give this review negative stars if I could. BRIDE-TO-BE's be warned! I went in for my trial run with what was supposed to be the owner of the salon and found out that some other girl would be doing my hair. She was not prepared for a trial and sat me down for consultation, I literally sat in two hours of traffic for NOTHING. She had NO IDEA what I wanted and when I said I am supposed to be here for my trial she said well I didn't know about. NOT MY PROBLEM. When I said I was quoted $250 for hair and make up she said oh no that is just hair. NOT WHAT I WAS TOLD, AGAIN. Also, they FALSE ADVERTISE. What you see on their website is NOT what you are offered. NO NAILS, NO AIRBRUSH MAKEUP AND THE PRICE IS A LIE. How can anyone run a business like that?? and when you call them out, you get told that the website is old. Rebekka is an artist ! I first went to Studio J Salon with a special promotional voucher, and didn't have any expectations. But Rebekka was attentive, and helped me create a style from a previous bad hair cut. That was about two years ago, and I won't go anywhere else. The cut and color (Chi foils) are always wonderful, and I get lots of compliments about my hair. Rebekka has made some suggestions that stretch my comfort zone (I'm 50+), but she's always right on! I've been to other salons where you walk in and you just know that you're in the wrong place. Not at Studio J Salon. The Salon is modern and comfortable, and all of the stylists are friendly.
