I left feeling like I was ready for a cameo in a Taylor Swift music video. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was treated with warmth, professionalism, and a whole lot of glam. Sydney did my makeup and absolutely nailed it, flawless skin, radiant glow, and the kind of eye sparkle that makes you want to take a thousand selfies. Danielle was kind, professional,and took the time to determine my hair type, what I was looking for in a new cut and styling preferences. Despite my rather vague description she got me exactly what I wanted, with a fantastic shampoo and styling to boot. The salon itself was welcoming, with styling products available without the typical used-car salesman tactics I've seen in past salons. Upon meeting her for the first time, I could tell Karissa listened to me and gave me a haircut that I was looking for. I appreciated that she let me just jump right into "business" once I got there, letting me show her a multitude of pictures--no pressure to small talk before I showed her pictures, etc. I did, however, find her easy to talk to once we got to the shampooing/cutting of my hair. I feel like I got a $50 haircut, although women's cuts here are only $25. Definitely a great price for the area! I am giving the studio a 4 star, however, as the studio's parking lot is kind of difficult to get in and out of. Also, the building is just poorly placed--it's on a curve alongside a major road, that I would argue is on the edge of a ghetto. The building is older and could be better maintained. If just giving a rating based on Karissa, I would give 5 stars.

I went to fantastic sams about 2 weeks ago to dye my hair and cut the stylist told me it would be a…read morecolor correction and she would do a balayage because that's the picture I showed her and since I had bleach washed it a few weeks before it would be charged as a color correction I explained to her the cut and color I wanted she never said she couldn't do the color I showed her a picture of we all know the hair usually doesn't come out exactly like the pictures so I was expecting that but what I got was horrible she asked me if I used product in my hair I told her no I don't use product or heat she then preceded to blow dry my hair and spray an obscene amount of different sprays on it at this time I hadn't seen my hair she continued styling on top of the product she put in my hair she washed it like 4 times before that so she gets done styling it and turned me around and I was shocked by what I seen I wanted to cry I hated it now mind you we had been there for hours and I know she stood for all this time I understand that but what she did to my hair was absolutely not even close to what I wanted I had to ask her 3 times to cut my bangs as I was telling her I didn't want straight acrossed boxy bangs she styled them to the side I felt bad and I was so emotional I didn't say anything she asked me if I liked it I said it's dark it's better then orange as I told her I didn't want the orange brass in the blonde/silver I wanted anyway I leave the salon get in my car and want to cry even more I kept trying to run my fingers through my hair it had so much product in my hair I couldn't get my fingers through it I thought maybe if I get home and wash it it will grow on me because she did spend a lot of time and it was better then orange so I went home washed it and it was worse my hair was a frizz ball and fryed and just awful I called the salon the next day and told them my concerns the assistant manager proceeded to tell me the Sylist and her other sylist friend next to her (which talked to each other the entire time) both said I told them I loved it before I left which I never ever said anyway I told her I wanted to talk to the manager because I was getting nowhere with her she then said the manager was on a cruise and she wouldn't be back for a week so I went back to the salon when the manager got back we made a time I came in she had me sit in a chair and said so what's wrong with your hair just like that as she's running her fingers through my hair and says oh yeah it's a little dry which is to be expected with a color correction a little dry there's now way so I proceeded to tell her that my hair was dry damaged not cut how I wanted and the color was no where near what I wanted basically after we argued back and forth she said I wasn't getting a refund or a partial refund didn't offer to do any moisture treatments nothing she told me my hair was damaged before I came in I asked her if that was the case why did her stylist touch it in the first place she should have told me it was to damaged she didn't she actually told me my hair would be a little dry after the bleaching which is normal but no breakage or anything I have tons of breakage anyway she offered nothing to help me she basically told me I was screwed I asked for the owners information she said she wasn't giving it to me that her owner said it was her call I will post pictures of what I wanted the cut is the blonde on the color is the silver one then my hair before my hair when I left then after the wash I was charged $230 for that color and cut which all she did for the cut was cut my bangs straight acrossed then combed and sprayed them to the side.

In the writer's haste to berate Elan, she reviews her friend unfavorably instead; a review sent on her wedding day nonetheless: the bride and her parents are portrayed as people whose word not only means nothing, unless they are legally bound by a signature on the dotted line, but who are willing to pull the rug from under a business that has an excellent reputation and whose kindness is highly appreciated. I visited yelp to write a favorable review of Elan, and found this one. In an unusual way, I was part of this situation, and instead of providing a straightforward review, I would like to correct the facts in this earlier review which I hope will speak for themselves and are only one indication of how highly Elan's clients think of the service Elan provides. I was actually a mother of a bride as well that day, June 11. I had set up an 11AM appointment with Elan about one month earlier to have my hair styled for my daughter's wedding that took place late afternoon in Indianapolis. At the request of Elan, I agreed to change that appointment a couple of weeks later to 8AM in order to accommodate this reviewer's large wedding party. The bride and her parents who were from out of town had just called Elan to set up an appointment, without informing Elan they were making two bookings for the same time in two local salons. Because Elan has helped me out so many times, I was happy to return the favor at this occasion. When the bridal party cancelled Elan at the 11th hour the day before, I was in the midst of rehearsal dinners and other wedding events, and Elan's manager was not able to contact me in a timely fashion and invite me to come in at 11 AM instead, and when I arrived at 8AM on June 11 the business was open punctually at the unusually early time, just for me. Needless to say, they did a fabulous job. I was there for 4 hours and left unhappy. I complained the next day and was contacted by the owner and was essentially told since I didn't complain at the time I must've been happy with it. 1. I was tired of being there and 2. They were closing. I did go back in and they fixed it and it was decent but still in the end not my original inspo. And twice with two different stylist there I've received a crooked haircut. Honestly it's on me for giving them the chance to continue to mess up my hair, but you would think 4 different stylist one could get it right. My next haircut for sure won't be here.
