I like the feel of human hands on my skin, so I booked a 50-minute relaxation massage. My massage therapist was very thorough about explaining what she would be doing and why, and also asked me if there was anything that I wanted her to focus on. I just gestured all around my body and said, "Just hit it all. No holds barred," or something like that. I'm a veteran massage-getter, so timidity is not something I deal with in a massage studio. I'm usually like, "Do your thang, girl/guy." My therapist did her thing, and it was a lot more gentle than I'm used to. That might have been her style, or maybe I should have communicated that she could go harder, but it was super gentle, like she was applying lotion on me. I'm a believer that every massage is a good massage (you're getting touched!), so even though it wasn't great, it was still good. They have some nice amenities here, like a relaxing waiting room with red-light masks, snack, drinks and things to read. There is also a steam room that you can visit, if you want.
