Previously, when I had tried it was in a chamber and hydrogen coming from the bottom. Ice box has an entirely different concept- the cooling comes from the top and you are entirely enclosed! They provide- socks, gloves, headphones, ear covers (if you opt out of the headphones), and a robe to wear. Inside the box you remove your robe and stand there for 3 minutes or, jump around if you are like me! The box is able to fit two people! Having a friend with you certainly makes the time pass fast! Red light therapy was a treatment I had not tried before and it was very nice! They said it boosts collagen production and showed dramatic photos of differences for people after 10+ treatments. Certainly seems a good alternative to Botox! Compression therapy was also something new to me! It seems that it would be a great thing after a hard workout or a long day at a desk!

Nate explained cryotherapy, gave us background on the machine, and talked us through the entire procedure so that we would not notice the frigid temperature as much! In his defense, we asked a lot of questions so he probably would accommodate those who don't want to chat as much as I do. He provided details on how cryotherapy assists with different ailments, specifically as I was experiencing shoulder and back pain from a car accident and to be honest my knees aren't what they used to be! I was really prompted to purchase for my dude since he had pulled a hamstring about a week prior to our visit. Seth was very personable and explained everything I needed to know about the experience. He even gave me a little gift bag with shampoo, body wash and earplugs (to keep the water out of my ears). They use a whole lotta Epsom salts to achieve a salinity akin to the Dead Sea. You cannot, not float. He explained how the tank is kept sanitary. He showed me how easily the lid opened, in case I started to feel claustrophobic (I did not). Then he left so that I could get undressed. You can wear a bathing suit, or not. I chose not. Because of the high salinity, the water feels a bit viscous and slippery. It was unexpected, but not objectionable. I pressed the button that started my session, closed the lid, laid back in the water and floated and floated and floated .... in almost complete darkness (a small amount of ambient light coming under the door from the hallway filtered through the gasket of the closed tank). Unlike Sheldon (Big Bang Theory), I did not see Mandelbrot Sets in the darkness. When the time was up, I raised the lid, showered and dressed, then left feeling totally relaxed. The only negative was that the salts get on anything you touch until you shower. But, that's a small thing that was easily remedied. I look forward to doing this again.
