OOOO La La! I had such a wonderful time here! I treated myself to a Spa package for the first time and it was magical. I started off with a full body massage (which was heavenly), then I got my nails done(mani pedi), hair cut, and styled. I needed this. Everyone was very professional and it was a very clean and welcoming environment. I got my nails and hair done by Abby and we had the best conversation! After my last review, I was hesitant to return to Studio West for a service - I'll admit, it was largely in part due to the stylist I had last time (who is no longer there). However, I found myself in need of a color gloss to help correct some issues with my most recent color, and went in last week to book the service. What a change from last year! The greeting was warm, and booking a service with the owner was easy and pleasurable! I had my appointment today with Drew, and with a quick consult and look at my hair, she was able to give me the most gorgeous color - I look like myself again! It was what you expect from Aveda - friendly, professional, and a teeny bit on the indulgent side. Between the hand massage and the scalp massage, I was almost too relaxed to drive home! I also liked seeing that everyone who worked there seemed to get along and enjoy working together - 180 degrees from last year's environment! Awesome! I immediately booked an appointment to have my color gloss refreshed by Drew int he new year. Kudos to Studio West for living up to what I expected from an Aveda salon - I can't wait to come back! read more

Love this place! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about their products. Brice has been my hair's saving grace! In all my life, I've never stuck with a stylist. Since adulthood I've moved on average every 2 years, so I've always just went (extremely infrequently) to some place in the local mall or worse local strip mall and had my hair cut/trimmed. I was also a notorious at home colorist; which with long hair was always quite a challenge. About eight months ago I decided I wanted to try and settle down (with a permanent salon and possibly stylist) so I started searching the internet and Yelp for a salon in Woodland Park (sadly there are not too many of them listed) and I stumbled across Studio West. Since I tend to be an "I want it now" kind of person I decided to drive down to the salon and check out the place and see if they could get me in for a cut and color. While my gratification wasn't instant (had to come back a few hours later for my appointment) it was worth the wait! Brice takes the time to check my color and there have been a few appointments where he doesn't even have to color because we've keep the shade so close to my natural color that you can't even see the new growth. I make it a point to schedule my next cut/color before I even finish my current one. Studio West also does mani/pedis, facials, massages, waxing and make-up applications! A cornucopia of beautification! They are also planning at expanding with detox wraps and are adding at least two additional masseuses! To top it off they offer tea/coffee and cookies or for $5 you can enjoy a glass of wine with your beauty treatment. They also carry pieces/wares from local artisans...lots of cute things for sale. read more

I love this salon. I happened upon it 8 years ago for last minute pampering for my little girl who was getting ready for her first daddy daughter dance. They fit her in for a full on mani, pedi, hair styling, and full pamper package. Since then I have become a regular customer. I'm a procrastinator and they almost always find a way to fit me in or find a quick appointment for me. Judith is amazing and I go for facials as much as possible. They have the full complement of spa amenities and great prices. If you have a beauty question they always have an answer, or will find you the expert. The owner is cute as a button and just like Cheers, she won't forget your name. This is my favorite place on earth. read more

After having a bad nail experience in the Springs where my natural nails were destroyed, a friend recommended this salon(a branch of Aveda) in Woodland Park. I had Jayme and she did a great job of listening to my concerns and being very gentle applying a gel manicure. She also took care of my damaged nails and patched a nail break so it wouldn't rip off. She was a lot of fun and i love Aveda, my only critique would be the salon itself for my taste is a bit dated - then again it's the usual mountain/Colorado aesthetic so I can't really complain :). I'll definitely go back, next time might try their massage and facials as well. read more

Love this place!! Everyone there is so friendly and they got me in extremely soon and around my convenience it was perfect! Ask for Angela!!! She is an amazing colorist and a great person. I went from a natural light, light blonde to a really pretty red color. I was super nervous was this was my first time dyeing my hair but Angela was perfect and worked with me on getting the perfect color for me and answering all my questions and working with me on getting the perfect color and style for me. The color came out perfect and she even fixed chlorine damage that was in my hair! Love her! And if I could give more than five stars I would :) read more

Service is punctual, efficient and friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and gracious, and every service I've tried has been the best. I have struggled with finding a stylist in the area and was slightly hesitant due to mixed reviews. The receptionist was helpful and friendly from my phone call to set up the hair cut to the appointment itself. Mariah is an amazing stylist! She listened to all of my hair needs (low maintenance, even layers, keeping length) and fixed a previous bad cut. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and walked out with a style that didn't make me immediately want to go wash and restyle. I will definitely return! read more

Horrible Experience. The staff at the front desk weren't very friendly. They were very short and seemed to be uninterested in having any sort of conversation. Not only did I feel unwelcome, the setup was kind of weird. They have you set in the waiting room where there is absolutely no privacy of any kind. Instead of being in a relaxing room before your massage you are stuck in a commons area with people waiting for their haircuts as well as pedicures. And its not very relaxing at all. And then to top it off the "massage therapist" was also one of the receptionist. Not only was the greeting/waiting an awful experience, so was the massage I had. Kristyn was my massage therapist. Mind you they only have one massage therapist to choose from. Which I found to be a little strange. Most Spas offer either a male or female therapist to choose from. So if your looking for a male therapist look somewhere else. My experience with Kristyn was horrible to say the least. She cut me short on time, and didn't seem to know what she was doing. I told her my issues and what to address. I also asked for a deep tissue. Long story short I didn't receive a deep tissue massage nor did she address any of my issues. I am not too picky when it comes to massages, but this was the worst one I have ever had. Overall the experience was unpleasant , and I will not be returning to Studio West. read more

I have been in here twice in the last week. Once for kid hair cuts and today to get some Mani pedis. I had bring my three heat old son while my daughter and I got our nails done. They are so kind to my kids. The girl that did our nails, Courtney, was wonderful!!!! She really spent time doing my daughters nails and put some diamonds on them too. This is all based on front desk reception and product availability. It's a cute spot and the salon area looks nice. The reception area reminded me of a doctor's office. The receptionist sits in the corner, and you approach the cutout area to talk. When I walked in, she was on her phone reading. No hello. Nothing. I had to approach her to tell her what I wanted. I had no problem self serving. They didn't have the product I needed unfortunately. When I went back to speak to her, she was now focused on the monitor. Each time I had to initiate the dialogue. I understand if someone has a personal issue and needs to use their phone, but she just wasn't as attentive as I'm used to in an Aveda salon. On this reason alone, I cancelled my appointment. I called Montage to rebook and ask about product. They were 'all over it' with service and anticipating the client's needs. I'm sorry to have to leave this post to be honest, but first time vibe was not good here. read more

I have gone to this salon three times in the past two years. Each time I have gone it seems that there is an entire new staff with the exception of two people. I recently took my daughter in to get her haircut, and I must say that I was very disappointed in the quality of the cut. She is 6 and all it was suppose to be was a simple bob. The first cut of the day was an uneven choppy cut. So, instead of waiting to get it fixed I brought her back. It took over an hour and a half and three people to make it an okay cut. The original stylist was completely lost on what I wanted, and she stood there lost at the idea of what I wanted. The male did not even speak to me about the cut. He directed all of his comments and input to the original girl, and as far as I knew this was not a beauty school. The third woman did ask me what I wanted and what I saw as issues. I was not sure how many other ways I could explain that I did not want an edgy choppy cut for my six year old. This salon may do a god job for adults, but it is definitely not a place to take a child unless you have all afternoon and you are okay with a cut that you were not asking for. read more

I'm new to the area and was a little reserved about finding someone new who knew what they were doing. I was pleasantly surprised when Michael cut and highlighted my hair, he was AMAZING!!! He actually listens to what you want, he involves you in any decision making prior to doing anything and he is meticulous about his work; which really shows.
