These group settings are great if you just want to better understand the concepts of your class. The only one on one sessions that are available for the subjects I need are through zoom, which is the only downfall I have with the tutoring options available. Being able to collaborate with other students who have taken or are currently taking the class is very helpful in better understanding my coursework. I love using this resource when I really want to reinforce the topics that my professor talked about in class. I also have learned some great skills from the students who have take this class on how to better understand the material that is talked about in the class. Overall I would continue using this service for any other class to help me succeed in my course work.

The student computing center is right behind the Library Annex. There area are two floors full of…read morecomputers for use. The first floor is just all computers, Windows and Mac available. The first floor of the SCC also has the printing center for black & white, color, and the other special printing jobs you can't do at Evans Library or at the Annex. When you print on the first floor of the SCC you don't have to go approve the print job like in the other libraries. It just prints and you pick it up in the print room. The only print jobs you approve at the SCC are the color prints and the special print jobs. The second floor also has lots of computers but half of the room is filled with tables and couches. The second floor is also usually noisier than the first. On some days the second floor is closed during certain hours for testing as well, there are usually notices put up to tell you.

She reached down behind the counter and grabbed my stack of papers that WERE NOT in the correct cubby and shoved them at me with much attitude stating "You need to check the boxes." It was not in the boxes. Practice your customer service and put stuff where it belongs maybe. Rude.

Saint Michael's is a small private school that has done an amazing job of creating a top-tier…read moreacademic education tailored specifically to my child. The school covers pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, and there is an attached preschool. The focus is on academics, and that focus is laid out in the Mission Statement: "...We are committed to academic excellence and the growth of each child in learning, character, and faith." The teachers really make an effort to teach the children and to help the children learn on their own. We love the teachers, and our child is incredibly happy with them and the school. He especially enjoys teaching us French and Spanish, as well as helping us review math concepts. One of the best parts about the school is that, due to the small size, policies can be changed based on parent suggestions. This benefit affects small things like changes to the uniform, and very significant things like whether a child would better learn with an individual lesson plan or by attending a different grade for a specific subject. Another benefit of being a private school is that a significant portion of the current kindergarten class is just barely too young to enter kindergarten in public schools, but is academically and socially ready for kindergarten work. They have a beautiful new multi-use building (including gym). The multi-use building is the site of drop-off and pick-up, so kids that get picked up after 5pm are often playing in the gym during that time. The school also has daily chapel, though children of all faiths are welcome. Full tuition is less than, or in-line with, many of the other private schools in the area, with discounts for prepayment and/or multiple kids from the same family. Significant amounts of financial aid are also available. Between 1995 and 2010, the Head of School position changed eight times, causing a drop in enrollment that has finally reversed with consistency. This drop in enrollment has had negative effects on the school's cash-flow. The current semester (Fall 2011) has seen a flood of negative publicity with the inaccurate message that the school is currently closing. Actually, fundraisers have already raised a significant chunk of the necessary funds for this academic year, and plans are being put in place to restructure the school's finances to prevent this issue from recurring. Saint Michael's is a great school, and we strongly recommend it for parents who are focused on academics and families who could benefit from a small school environment. Kids that are sick are not sent home when they should be. Since there are several daycares and schools in B/CS, I suggest you pick one that treats kids and parents with respect.

The facility is state of the art and the instructors are the best. Dr. Savell and Dr. Griffin know their stuff and are great at conveying it in an interesting and understandable fashion. Everyone affiliated with the program is very professional and knowledgeable. I have been in the food business all my life and always learn a lot from these guys. The courses aren't cheap but well worth every penny.

When my job offered to send me to Texas for five days of emergency response training, my first…read morethought was, "Hotel hot tub, per diem, and a week out of the office, here I come!" But then reality set in. Would this be a boring, acronym-filled waste of time with a bunch of Republicans, involving bureaucratic forms and procedures and crappy fried food that would make me regret having left home for five days? Not so. This was the best training I've ever been to. Excellent and modern facility, realistic exercises, highly interactive sessions, opportunities to provide feedback, and most of all, the most professional, engaging and experienced instructors you can imagine. One was the incident commander for the "Miracle on the Hudson," to give an example. The guy has 30+ years with the NYPD (and a wicked cool Long Island accent). I came away with a good understanding of how an emergency response works for a major incident, got to know my colleagues, and only gained three pounds from the fried pickles and jalapeños that I indulged on every night. Yee haw! If you are fortunate to be given the opportunity to participate in a TEEX training, DO it!
