When our home had a water incursion event I rang Daniel, about what was a very challenging problem, and within a day he arrived onsite to give me his very professional opinion on options to manage the remediation. Later, as the work proceeded, I rang Daniel to schedule removal of the buckled wood flooring. His guys arrived on time and worked efficiently and rapidly, handling a complicated removal and leaving the site spic and span. I cannot imagine a more skilled or better service than what I just experienced.

We had a cinder block wall covered in ivy across the rear of our property that was leaning and in…read moredanger of falling. We made several calls to demo companies to have it quoted and get input on the job. We found 1st Demo via a Google search, and they responded right away, came out to look at it, and gave us a quote. Of all the companies who looked at it, 1st Demo had the most confidence they could handle the job, and their quote was very fair for the work necessary. There were several challenges unique to our yard to deal with for this project. The ivy itself was covering a good portion of the wall, making it hard to tell the condition of the wall underneath. The wall itself was built on the top of a hillside, with our neighbor's yard and house being a good 30-40 feet below our property, and we needed the pieces of the wall to be kept to our property as it was dismantled. We also have narrow side yards, making access with the machinery needed to make the job more efficient tough (think threading a needle). They actually ended up removing a brand new fence/gate on one of our side yards to get their larger machine through, which worried us as we had just recently put it in. They promised us they would be able to re-install it afterwards like nothing had happened and they were true to their word. Having both machines in the backyard made quick work of the job, and the crew did a great job limiting the fallout of the cinder blocks to our property. Since they had the big rollup bins for hauling away the debris, they were very kind in taking some junk items from our yard unrelated to the demo and hauling them away for us. Much appreciated! After the work was finished, they also came back and raked the gravel in our side yard that the machines had displaced, and powerwashed the machinery tire tracks off our driveway, leaving no trace from our front yard they had been there. The backyard was another story...our yard was torn up by the machine going back and forth, but they were completely upfront with us that the grass would be destroyed, so we were prepared for it, and it's completely understandable after watching the whole demo take place. All in all, the crew could not have been nicer and they did a great job. If we ever need demo work again, 1st Demo will be the first call I make and I highly recommend them.

I liked that he gives deals for paying in cash and that I got a written estimate. He and his team are very detailed. They cut the palm trees to my specific liking (3 leaves remaining on each palm). When his team came, it was a big crew who got the job done on about 2 days. I love that they cheered as they worked, it was such a positive vibe. One very important thing is that they take safety very seriously. Safety of the working team, the customers, and the property. Everyone wore so much PPE. And every ladder used had a spotter. I greatly appreciate that Tino is with his team the whole time and he'll ask me to check and see if things are to my liking before he deems them complete. We did hit a pause because 2 of the tree trunks are near a street light. So we needed to see where the electricity runs. I tried call the city and LADWP, but it turns out what's needed is a dig alert. Tino opened a dig alert ticket. Unfortunately, we're still waiting for the city to draw the lines to the street light. It's definitely no fault of Tino and I appreciate that he wants to do things safely. So, to be continued! I'd highly recommend A Cut Above, they live up to their name!
