They are neither impressive nor disappointing; they are what I would expect and take for granted in terms of service in (Las Cruces I would highly recommend Stull Realty if you need multiple bedrooms!). Mathers takes a little bit to get to your maintenance issues; they only answer calls on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of the nature of the problem, except during after hours emergencies. They DO have an after hours line, though it is clear from the two times my apartments flooded (once due to a broken water heater and once due to an upstairs neighbor) that the after hours people are instructed not to send out personnel unless the damaging nature of the emergency is clearly conveyed. (e.g. "water is leaking onto carpet" or "the drainage is causing permanent structural damage to the ceiling"). Just keep this in mind if you have to call on weekends or after hours. There is little personalized service involved in business transactions with this company, though service is speedy. They do not know their renters by name or location but they are polite and efficient. I think they manage alot of properties for alot of individuals. They are NOT good at going to bat for renters. When my water heater broke right before a key job interview, I had to stay at a hotel because they were slow to replace it because the owner did not want to pay. Also, when I got married and right afterwards our air conditioner broke, we were displaced for a week due to the heat. They gave us a deal on the rent for that month, but not a very good one considering the inconvenience, and they did not offer, we had to ask. Next time I will make a claim against my renter's insurance because this lengthy of inconvenience is not acceptable. However, all things considered, as a management organization, Mather's is better than others I have had in this area. If I could give 3.5 stars I would since I can't I am rounding up for at least some effort on their part.

I guess you get what you pay for. I got a huge 2 bedroom apartment and only pay electric for about 450 a month. I didnt think my location was too bad until I lived there for about 6 months and I got to experience the staff and the type of neighbors that come with the territory. If you have already checked Mathers' properties you can also tell that they are ALL roach infested. Every property I visited had dead roaches on the floor next to the stove, in the bathroom or in the closets. And no they aren't WATER BUGS because there are no pools in the majority of their properties. So look closely. Another thing is that they hall have a smell that come with the property/apartment. Whether it be ethnic food or B.O., or whatever prepare for a stench. I would stay away from Mathers, just lay off a couple beers or going out to eat and save another $50 - $100 bucks and you could find a better location that isnt Mathers. Trust me, it WOULD BE WORTH IT!

I have used Steinborn since moving away from LC several years ago…read more * They have been and continue to be surprisingly unresponsive ignoring emails and phone calls more often than not. -- when they do respond, they provide incomplete or unclear answers * They have made modifications to the wiring of my home at the request of the tenants and *without* seeking approval from me. -- mind you these were *changes* not repairs -- they billed me for the work * They neglected to tell me the tenants did not exercise their option for a 3rd year on the lease *after* telling me the tenants wanted to and I gave approval -- 6 months later I get the surprise that the tenants are leaving when I believed they still had another 6 months on the lease * I requested an appraisal on the house several times and was completely ignored * When I called management (several times) to complain, I never got a return phone call -- they did switch me to a different property manager who is, frankly, no better * I have had billing errors, being charged the management fee twice in a month -- I have to catch these errors and go after them to get them fixed * For all this, they charge a fee of 10% These outfit is breathtakingly unprofessional and disinterested in any kind of customer service. It's as if they flipped on the auto-biller and went to sleep. I could probably do better offshoring the property management to a 3rd world country in Asia. Do not make the mistake I did. Steer clear of this firm.

Adam Marrujo is the absolute worst. When my daughter declined his advance he promptly posted a…read morelease violation with bogus reasons along with a lease termination form on her door. Adam asked her to come in after hours for paperwork signing and key pick up. Adam then sent her a Facebook friend request. The other staff in the office are also rude and attempted to defend the issues they were informed about. To bad Adam does not spend as much time cleaning the properties he rent out like he does engaging in inappropriate behaviors with his female renters. Adam bullied my daughter and discriminated against me stating I could not have my service dog with me when visiting my daughter(I even have a handicap placard for my vehicle) The property had a STRONG STENCH of cat urine and my daughter and I spend hours attempting to steam vacuum the disgusting odor out. My 13 month old granddaughter received numerous bites all over her tiny body and Adam & staff tried to say it was mosquitoes when the bites were obviously too large. There was cat hair on the window sills and dust. The stove and oven were disgusting with grime and build up. The kitchen cabinets were sticky with buildup. Under the kitchen sink had a leak and upon further investigation it was obvious the leak had occurred for a long time,the wood was black in areas and soft. The dishwasher was unusable with grim and rust. The bathroom shower/tub had pain peeling off. There was back dirt and grime on all base boards. Renting from this company is a huge mistake,they rent slums.
