Store is nice but kind of pricy honestly. Don't even take the time to bring your clothes here because they are PICKY. Brought two large bags of nice blouses there to sell that are name brand, barely worn and some even brand new--they didn't buy a THING. Saying it was out-of-date or whatnot. They didn't accept the clothes I brought in, but some of the items I saw in there for sale were questionable... On top of that, as I was taking the clothes out of the bags at home, I noticed they were still perfectly folded flat on top of each other as I had done before bringing them... so most of clothes they didn't even take out! I've heard they don't give you much of anything when you sell, so I'd find somewhere else to take your clothes. read more

I brought in 4 handbags, was told by the woman at the counter to wait 24 hours for them to be authenticated. When I called back 24 hours later, I was told that I could not get cash back because I had waited 24 hours, I could only get store credit. When they told me this, I decided not to sell the purses to them. When I came in the next day to get the purses back, they told me they couldn't find them and to come back the next day, they would have the purses then. When I returned the next day, they told me they had already sold the purses and that I could have a store merchandise credit card. I took the card, and when I came to redeem it, I saw one of the purses I gave them hanging on the rack, not sold, like the store manager had told me the day before (It was also the only purse marked for 30% off). It upsets me that I could've sold these purses on my own, but all I got out of the whole fiasco was a store merchandise card. I have never written a review on a store because I do understand things happen, but I feel very schemed by Style Encore and will never deal with them again or recommend anyone else to. read more

I absolutely love this Style Encore store! They always have great merchandise and pricing. I love the live shows and especially appreciate how thorough the sales staff is about the merchandise before shipping out to me in Delaware. One salesperson in particular, JOY, recently assisted me in my purchase of gowns/ semi formal dresses that were on clearance for my high school students who could use the extra help. This place is awful. Immediately looked me up and down and basically said they wouldn't want anything I brought based on my age and what I was wearing. They have a horrible system set up now where you have to leave your clothes there and come back once they have looked through them. My LEAST favorite consignment shop to do business with in the city. The staff can be friendly, if they're not in a rush, but the manager was absolutely awful. So, I have been to this store numerous times, there is definitely a difference depending on the employee helping that day. This past time was just odd. They didn't take any of the new clothes or shoes I brought, all mid level designer, but took older linen shorts and a couple small tanks. Which hey, that's okay, and I found a GREAT VINCE dress! What is bothersome to me is, I'm in Houston right now, took the items they didn't want to a style encore here, and they bought just about everything minus one pair of shorts and a top missing a button ( my fault for not catching.). As I think back, in the BR style encore you have visibly USED shoes from Catos, but you don't want brand new shoes from Nina, Steve Madden, Kenneth Cole???? It's a nice store, always clean, nice music, and there are two workers who are always a joy, will I be back to look around, of course, will I bring back any clothes to sell again, probably not, the ladies in Houston said I was welcome anytime! read more

This used to be my favorite place to go with my mom and daughter. There was a particular employee that started working there and she was really rude and impatient with customers. I don't know her name, if you look on their Facebook page she made a video this past Saturday, concerning Athletic wear. Ever since she started, I stopped going in 2016. The staff could be more customer friendly ... I have left in tears before. (As soon as I walked in with items to sale, I was told - very loudly - my items need to be drycleaned. I shop here all the time because some of the ladies are very pleasant, but others can be standoffish at times. I don't care for the fact that when I go in to sell my clothes some items I can tell they did not even look at and they deny them but then I can go back later in the week to another seller and they buy my clothes. This issue only happens with Karen. She needs to do better and have a better attitude take it she's the store manager. The assistant manager Diane can use a little bit of customer service help also, but Karen is the worst!!!! Went in here yesterday and was disappointed. They take most of Plato's nice clearance items and mark them up significantly. I know they are supposed to be a consignment store but the mark up is ridiculous. They have some nice things but not worth the price for second hand. I have always loved resale/consignment shopping. It's almost like a sport for me! Lamonica and her staff get a broad range of labels and mark everything at steep discounts! You don't need to wait for a sale to find a bargain. I pop in about 1-2 times a week as almost the entire inventory turns so quickly it's like a new boutique has opened every time I go in. Margarette is an amazing woman. She made my "selling" experience worth my time and I enjoyed our conversations. I think shoppers must remember, if you want lots and lots of money for things you purchased on sale, on impulse or wore once, Style Encore will not make you rich. How can others afford to have nicer things if we all want more money then some of us paid for the items. I brought in 3 pair of new Coach shoes, which I paid over $600, plus several other brand name shoes and clothing. I brought the clothing in on hangers (although they do not want our hangers) but I wanted my clothing to be wrinkle free and everything was either cleaned or new. Stop bringing in a box of wrinkled clothing expecting to get top dollar. Be realistic and if you are selling, go in with a mind set of "helping" someone else. I'm glad to have a place like Style Encore to buy/sell. read more

They are very stingy in what they accept and what they offer the seller but generous when pricing for resale. The selection is less than great for those of us not a size 2 and the "styles" are more frumpy grandma than stylish woman. And the staff is less than welcoming to sellers. Not a great experience selling my clothes, shoes etc. As I struggled to get in the door with a container where my items were as requested (neat, cleaned and folded) I placed my container on the counter. The store had just opened for the day and was not busy and I was finally greeted after 10 minutes. I was told it would take an hour for them to go through my things and I had to come back that DAY!! So I wasted an hour of my time in Baton Rouge to come back and her say -- WE will buy THIS pair of shoes for $8. There was NO way they looked at my items and I was taken back. There was another pair of shoes that had never been worn, AND Banana Republic and Kate Spade items in the bottom of the container still with tags on them. It was obvious she did not want to be there! I visited the store today. I was browsing and looking for summer sandals. I wasn't too pleased with my welcome. The workers never looked up nor did they greet me. I stayed in the store about ten minutes. I even tried on some shoes. Two customers came in store after me and was greeted with a pleasant welcome. I was very disappointed, and I walked out. After reading several reviews, let me clue you folks in. This store is not Dillard's or Macy's. They will not have every size, every time you go. They don't even know what they will have until people bring it in. It's a consignment store. I have sold clothes and shoes and felt like i received a fair price. I used to love this store but now I HATE it! First of all, this is a store that sells clothes that have been worn already for the most part. It's nothing but a wannabe upscale thrift store. The women that work in here treat you like you are trash from the streets, as if they are too good for you or higher than you in terms of social status. I went one morning to sell some items. When I walked in, they looked at me like I had just climbed off the back of a garbage truck. They then told me it would be about two hours before they would be able to "look over" my things. I left and went to run errands then returned about 2 hours and 45 minutes later. I went inside only to find my things still sitting in the same exact place they were when I dropped them off. My stuff was definitely "looked over!" After six hours, they decided that I didn't have anything they were interested in so I decided that would be the last day I would ever waste my time there or at any of their other affiliated stores. read more
