This store frustrates me. Sadly I like the quality that Kohl's carries, the variety and their coupons. I've unfortunately or fortunately been one of their VIP customers for as long as I've had a Kohl's charge. So I shop here. But I can't stand the store sometimes. I just discovered the joy of buy online and pick up in store to avoid shipping costs. So while I picked up my little order I browsed to see if there was something else I wanted or needed. But I couldn't stand the store. While the aisles looked okay, the women's department was trashed. Trashed. I feel wrong spending money at a store that cannot hire enough staff or the right staff to keep a store looking presentable. I get that weekends get busy. I get that sales happen, but there was no pride in attempting to organize it. Also, I waited three minutes before the customer service desk was attended. I was into the store on Saturday and had a good experience. For the first time in awhile the store was not a mess lately when I've gone in stuff was all over the floor made me not want to go in anymore. It was a lot better this time they were pretty busy but the lines went pretty fast. There is clothes on the floor, the shelves are trashed, I end up folding clothes before I stop myself. It's just not fun to shop there when it is so disorganized. Staff is nice. This Kohl's location is awful. There are always racks and racks of clothes jammed together, often in piles on the floor, completely disorganized and impossible to find anything. You can't even browse through a rack because everything is so tightly and haphazardly crammed in. They never have enough people working so the lines are crazy long and there are piles of discarded clothes in all of the dressing rooms. But then again people can't really return them to the rack in there because that too is jammed full. Not to mention their maternity section is teeny tiny and nowhere near a fitting room, so watch out pregnant ladies! Get ready to not be able to fit between the 2 racks in that section and then waddle yourself halfway across the store to try anything on! Definitely done shopping here! read more

This Kohl's seems smaller than its westside counterpart and used to often be in disarray but recently seems more organized and less cramped. As with every Kohl's you can use sales, coupons, and Kohl's cash to your massive advantage - between a sale, Kohl's cash, and their rewards program I got a $44 sweater for free. Hard to argue with that! My main issue recently has been finding salespeople to help when I'm on the floor. A couple of weeks ago we were in the shoe department and we wanted to know if they had my gent's size in stock in the back. I walked through the shoe department, menswear, and housewares before finally stopping at the jewelry counter up front and waiting in line for the only non-cashier I was able to find. The woman at the counter was quite helpful and later a manager stopped by and walked me back to the section where someone appeared, but initially multiple calls over the walkie talkie went unanswered. The savings make up for service lapses (and it's not that the service is poor, it's just that there aren't enough people for busy times) and I'm sure I'll be back, especially since things seem more orderly. read more

Unfortunately, I have to bump my rating down after trying same-day pickup. I purchased an item online on a Sunday (chose same-day pickup in store). The website said that I would receive an email or text when the item was ready to be picked up (showed as in stock Madison East). My credit card was charged. 10 days later, I still had not received any communication (nor was I sent the confirmation number, so I couldn't even inquire about it). Charge is still on credit card. Called Kohl's (national number) to try to get charge removed from card; they said I had until yesterday to pick up the item! Supposedly my card will get credited, but either way, I did not pick up the item because I was never informed that it was ready. read more

When you have made a mistake and I have made you aware of your mistake...apologize...apologize and try to come up with a solution. You forgot to take the security oil/magnetic things off of my purchased clothes. When I suggested a refund in full, you pay for ground postage and I send you the clothes back I was immediately dismissed with great attitude. Not only that, but you didn't come up with a better solution. Not even a different solution. You're garbage. I hope that your corporate office and I can come to some sort of agreement on Monday. No need to talk to anyone from this store. I have spoken to a sales person and a manager already and wish to never again. :) This store is chaos. Good luck to any patrons that go there. While I go back and forth about my feelings for Kohl's, I'm gonna give it 4 - though it often deserves about a 3.5. Pricing is a bit wonky, and I'm pretty sure that sometimes they mark up to mark down. BUT they send out great coupons (usually 15 - 30% off a whole purchase, including sale items) about every 10 days, when things get marked down it's usually pretty great, and they have nice designer(ish) lines. The Vera Wang stuff is lovely, though it doesn't always come in much over a size 10. And while I think Lauren Conrad is an idiot, the clothing line she slaps her name on is usually rather on trend without being tacky (the same can't be said, however, for Jennifer Lopez's line). This location is easy to get to, has lots of parking, and very friendly staff. If I ever am wandering around looking confused (as to where something is, where I saw something, etc. etc.) they are happy to help. And they graciously handle returns or exchanges with ease. Plus, it's a Wisconsin-owned company. And you've gotta love that. read more

Although I like Kohls products, and prices, I haven't shopped there in 5 months. Five months ago while purchasing almost $200.00 worth of clothing, a salesman next to me offered a couple an extra coupon he had under the desk. When I asked my saleswoman if she had any extra coupons she told me "the only way I would get a discout is if I took out a Kohls card." I complained to the customer service department, and was told in essence "too bad". When I wrote the corporate office they offered me a 15% discount on line,(only after I said I wasn't sastified with their just speaking to the store manager. I was utterly shocked by the harassment from my cashier to open a Kohl's credit card. I was asked at least 5 times. After the fourth I said "no thanks, I'm in a hurry." (which I really was, I was on my way to work and was running out of time). She replied "it will only take a minute". FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I DONT WANT YOUR CREDIT CARD! (Also, the lady before me, when she declined her offer the cashier replied: "why?" UMMMM. Because she doesn't want it, it's none of your business why. After I left I called and complained to the manager. I rarely shop at Kohl's but was excited when I saw all the sales but now I'm not sure if I'll ever go there again. Deceptive pricing. On some jeans there were little digital signs placed around, claiming you'll get one half off the second order, with the first indicated to be 29.99. The first pair was $50 at checkout. I did not purchase them. Someone I was there with had got already gotten ripped off on several items just before me, all of which were priced similarly higher, though I wasn't in a position to intercede to stop that transaction. If you can't be clear about the price, you should not be in business at all in my opinion. Further, they seem to set it up so that people wait in long lines and at the end people just begrudgingly buy it. Just don't go. read more

I really like Kohl's and I love their clearance items!! But... I don't know what it is but... Kohl's is doing something really weird with their carts. I have been there a few times already and every time they have new or different carts and these carts are convenient for the crammed spaces in certain departments but it's terrible for the moms with newborns. I wish they would have carts (maybe a few) that would accommodate those who have smaller children. I know it's convenient for the aisles but it's really difficult to shop and hold an infant. I would definitely use a carrier for my baby, but it's cold out and I don't feel comfortable taking her out of the carseat and placing her in a carrier and then walking into the store with her exposed to the cold AND especially since it's now standard procedure to buckle infants in their carseats without any blankets, snowsuits, or anything at all that can come prevent your baby from being fully secured in the carseat, this makes it difficult for us to keep our baby warm and safe. So... Accommodate the moms with smaller children please! It would be awesome!! I used to just shop at Boston Store and now since Boston Store is gone, Kohl's is my new "go-to" place. Thank you for having a changing table in your bathrooms and I really appreciate your sales associates because they are always nice and friendly and your store is really clean and organized and the sales are great! I went to customer service and they told me they can not reprint a receipt, even if you use your Kohl's charge card. When I asked who can the response was that a manager can BUT it takes a really long time. Clearly this lady doesn't really want to help me. My advice to you all, drive to the one in Monona instead and avoid this one. I know I will. read more

5 stars for customer service department. It is a nuisance that the customer service is all the way in the back corner but I'm not going to knock a star off for that. Everytime I needed to return items or exchange the employees have been fast and extremely efficient. I love that. I'm too busy to stand in line and wait just to bring an item back. Boom! They scan it and run your charge card and then print you a receipt for your return unlike other kohls where they take up an hour of your life. The other thing I love about this kohls location is that the store is always kept organized and neat when I shop there. I'm not sure if it is because I shop on Monday or Tuesday and it isn't as busy as the weekend but seriously this kohls rocks with perfectly folded items and organized shelves. Also unlike the kohls in Ohio, where I'm from, the women at the jewelry counter are knowlagable and help you with selections. They even recommend you try the items on....in my case a bracelet, to make sure it looks good on you. That's really nice. read more
