Came here last week with a friend for pedis. It was a Wednesday but still I booked one day ahead just in case. As expected it was slow on the weekdays which is fine, I was expecting for my nail technician to take her time. We arrived 10 minutes early for our 12pm appointment and were immediately seated. I was finished before 12:20. She didn't ask if I wanted my nails cut or filed, she began filing away but I asked her to trim them but instead she just shaped them with a heavier hand. Ok... She must've thought I had an ingrown on my big toe because she was trimming a little too much on the corner even though I wasn't in pain and I ended up bleeding a bit. The leg massage lasted barely a minute, then she rubbed the warm stones on my legs for one minute and then painted the polish. Warm towels were also patted on the legs after massage as well. I found the order of the pedicure odd. Who applies lotion to the customers wet legs? My first experience was much more pleasant than this. First time here... My regular ultra clean salon could not accommodate me last minute. When I walked In I should have walked right out! Polish choices were so old and crusty with no up to date colors at all! As I looked around I was not happy... Place was messy and dirty... Trash on floor... Dirty stations.... Ken did my mani~ pedi... His fingernails were disgusting.... Several were very long and dirty! Needless to say two days later my nails are a mess and several cuticles are puffy and sore! This review is for a pink and white fill only. I have been getting pink and white around the country for about a decade. One of the male technicians took me right away and started filing. He seemed to know what he was doing when he started. When he opened the container of pink powder, it has lots of grey dust or dirt in the jar. He tried to shake it away and it still managed to end up in my pink portion of my nails. He was using the wrong drill heads to file. He tools were dirty with no sign of a way to sanitize tools in between customers. When he put gel on top and they dried in the uv drying machine, he then put a coat of clear nail polish over the gel. What?!?!? That ruins the gel's whole purpose. The polish chipped the next day and left a dull, grainy pink and white nail below the chipped off polish. It is noticeable where the polish has peeled off of all the nails the very next day! It was average cost. Easy location to find. But crappy pink and white. read more

Got a Groupon for dip nails. The staff here was very friendly and accommodating however my nails did not come out as well as I would have liked. Obviously each employee is different however I feel the job was rushed and the outcome could have been better and more neat. Not sure if this was in response to me using a Groupon so they didn't put full effort into it but wouldn't choose to pay full price here. Hard to tell in the picture but nails have blemishes and indents, also the dip stained my fingers pretty badly. This is my first manicure of this type so I don't know if fingers usually get stained. read more

I was in town for the weekend and made an appt at Style Nails for a shellac manicure with my mom. When we got there I was disappointed to find out that they didn't carry my favorite shade of shellac and was telling my Mom how bummed I was. I then spilled my entire cup of coffee on the floor. I thought for sure they would be upset and annoyed by me, but the lady who helped me clean it up was SO nice about it. When she did my nails she layered two colors to get the shade of my favorite shellac color. She was SO nice and I really don't think my nails have ever looked better. This place is bomb. It is clean, friendly, and it seems like the local spot. The prices aren't bad. I had the spa pedicure. It was nice. The regular pedicure seemed almost as amazing. I feel compelled to write a review for the simple fact that I need to cancel out these negative comments. I am 28 years old and have been going to Karina (the owner) for the last 15 years almost. I legit followed her to every salon she has ever worked at before she opened Style Nails. I grew up in in Peabody but currently live in Haverhill and i still make the trip every two weeks for my nails and brows! can tell you that she is the most professional and knowledgeable nail tech I have ever been too. I have ventured to some other places here and there or in a pinch and always end up back at Style Nails. The last place I tried drilled a hole through my nail and she was able to make my nails healthy again! The salon is always CLEAN (contrary to what other people have said) and she would never hire someone who wasn't good to work for her. All of her techs are good! She IS very busy so I suggest making an appointment if you want to see her, but like i said, everyone else is good too! I promise you wont be disappointed. See for yourself! read more

I got so many compliments on my nails the past few days I figured I'd come on here and leave a review. Looking at some of these negative reviews, I'm super confused. I started going to Style Nails when I lived in Danvers right around the corner. I ended up moving back to Revere but still drive here to get my nails done because I have not found a better place! Karina and her team keep the place crazy clean and they always have the newest color selection. Now my family and I fight over time slots for appointments! Haha. I used to bite my nails so now that I have them I'm overly picky about how they look and every-single-time they are on point. I highly recommend you give this place a try for yourselves! After recommending this place to several people, my last three visits have been very very disappointing and unprofessional! A few weeks ago I made an appointment with Karina (the owner) for a shellac manicure but due to some staffing problems, she was not able to do my nails. She had her mother do my nails. The manicure was NOT satisfactory but I bit my tongue and said nothing! I let it go and Karina did apologize for the change. I made another appointment for a shellac manicure with Karina and once again she blew me off and had Ken do my nails. Mind you Ken is excellent and I was more than pleased to have him do my nails but the point is she blew me off a second time. But this time she offered no apology or explanation. On Wednesday I called to ask if Ken was available for a pedi and I was told he was totally booked for the rest of the day so I made an appointment for a pedicure with Ken for the following day. My appointment was for Thursday at 3:15. I arrived five minutes early on Thursday and after walking in, without looking up, Karina said - sign in and pick a color. (I said I have an appointment but that was never acknowledged.) After 15 minutes, Ken started working on another client. So I said: "excuse me, I had a 3:15 appointment" but apparently it was never entered into the book. Karina NEVER said another word this entire time. Ken did do my pedicure but I told him I was upset about the treatment I had for the last three appointments. It seems to me that Karina ( the owner) is/was taking advantage of me and when *I* am paying for a service, I expect to be treated like a valued customer! What did she think? Was she thinking that because I like the work she does that she can make me WAIT and take the walk-ins ahead of me even though I take the time to make an appointment? There are many nail salons in the immediate area so I don't need to be treated this way! I have been going to that salon for several months now. I have ALWAYS made an appointment because I do NOT like waiting or having to be turned away to come back at another time and I feel that appointments should be honored. Never have I missed an appointment and I have NEVER NEVER been late although I have had to wait on many occasions. Had Karina come over to me privately or publicly and acknowledged a mistake had been made, I would have accepted that. BUT instead - SHE TOTALLY IGNORED ME AND SAID NOTHING.... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! She didn't even acknowledge my presence! WHAT KIND OF TREATMENT IS THAT? Needless to say....three strikes and you're out!!! read more

Go somewhere else. I spent 100$ here the other day, and my results were crap. My gel manicure peeled off after 5 days. I got a pedicure and the lady dug and ripped out a tiny ingrown toenail, that didn't even hurt to begin with. But she continuously dug at it til I bled. Well I now have an infection in that area. My toe hurt the rest of the day and the next morning it was throbbing. When I pushed on it, puss came out. I went to the doctors and he said it was an infection from the pedicure and the tools she use to dig apart my toe. I'm still trying to fight the infection. So do yourself a favor and just go somewhere else. read more

Why go anywhere else on the north shore for a shellac manicure? This place has a huge selection of colors and their shellac lasts for a solid three weeks. The service is excellent and although walk-ins are welcome, if you call ahead (even just an hour or two) it's easy to fit a manicure into a busy day. read more

Extremely clean, use hot rocks and hot towels during massage, and never felt uncomfortable in the environment (all English speaking). I have been going here about 1-2 yrs since reading some good reviews on here. My first experiences were positive. Good pedicure, really solid manicure. No complaints whatsoever. The last three times, it's been a holy disaster! I have been bleeding every single time I've been there - with three different techs. Then when I say, "ouch" or yank my hand away, they look at me like I'm being a baby, there's no apologies or anything. This last time (which is absolutely the last time I will ever go there!) the cut was so bad she had to clue my skin back together. She poured that stuff to make you stop bleeding but that didn't work so next thing I know, she's squeezing the nail glue on my cuticle. I recently had a bad experience at a nail salon and have been afraid to get them done again. I went to salon centric and they are right next door so I thought I'd give them a try. I am very happy I did! I had a gel fill (not shellac) and not only is it difficult to find a place that still does this service, it's even more difficult to find someone who does it well. Great salon! I usually have no problem calling same day to come in. I'll even sometimes call when I'm leaving from work and they've always come through to take me. They are also the cheapest salon I've found whose service is just as good (if not better) than other, more expensive salons I've been to. I'm a stickler for a perfect manicure, and they are very meticulous with their service. Once in awhile, depending who did my nails, I have had to speak up when something wasn't to my liking. But, they are always willing to correct any issue and I've always left happy with the service. I always make sure I ask for the quick-dry oil since I'm prone to smudging my nails once I get home. I'm so glad they offer CND Vinylux and OPI Infinite Shine polishes (extra $5). I've found not a lot of salons carry those yet and they are a great cheaper alternative to shellac. (1 week no-chip mani that comes off with regular nail polish!) My sister regularly gets shellac manicures ($25) here and has never complained. She's tried other places where they would start peeling within the first few days. Style recently started a promotion for 10% off services on certain days as well! read more

I called at 7pm one night when I was in a pinch and in desperate need of a pedicure. They said to come right in, and so when I got there I realized that their normal closing time is 7pm, and after that by appointment only. I was surprised by their willingness to take me despite that. Danny did my pedicure, and he was friendly, efficient and listened to what I wanted. I did not at any point feel rushed or forgotten about which in the past I have unfortunately experienced at other salons across the state. The staff appear to be friendly overall, and seem to have repeat customers that they have good relationships with. They let us bring in snacks and champagne and did all of our manicures/pedicures efficiently while we were able to have a good time. Then I sat for fifteen minutes, during that time they took in two walkins and served them. I left I told them I had been waiting and they said "BYE". Will never go there again. Got my nails done & the staff/environment was really fun! My one issue is that before I knew it my manicure was left with stubby nails- she just started clipping & it was too late to say anything! I was never asked if I wanted them cut or just filed & she just cut them- so not happy! I don't like my fingers super short & now that's what I'm left with!... Also by the evening my nails have started chipping! I went over the weekend and the setting was relaxing but everything was really close together. When I sat down, I immediately noticed how dirty the stations were. My sister was seated next but the main man did hers. First, he sneezed on her while cutting down her nails, then he left midway through giving her acrylics to smoke a cigarette. One of my friends we went with didn't get acrylics but got gel. It came out good but she was bleeding when they took off her cuticles and wiped the wound with acetone. Although, the acrylics came out really really good. The nails were a 9/10, although the workers and the workplace was a 2/10. Sweet, but unsanitary. read more
