I've been coming here for a few years now for my eye appointments and every time I'm here it is usually amazing! My favorite thing is how friendly most of the people are, my only concern is a couple of the people who work the front desk definitely need to be on the happier side because a few times they have been super grumpy and it is only 9:30 or 10:00 in the morning. Not a good way to start your day or my day in my opinion. The doctors here are super friendly and the checkups are insanely quick and then get you your prescription faster than any other eye doctor that I have gone to in the past. One thing that I do not like is they are very pushy about me trying new contacts, I know that they are trying to get more of a commission off of the brands they are pushing but I had one of the female doctors basically get upset saying that my contacts are horrible compared to the ones that she was trying to get me in when I kept telling her I do not care for One A Day Contacts I prefer my monthly. They have some very up-to-date machines and I love the retina scanning machine that they have to show you the back of your eye. It is super detailed and yes it does cost a little bit extra to do but I definitely think it is worth it to make sure that your eyes are in the best shape they can be! Right They also have an entire Optical section where you can buy your lenses and frames in store however I usually don't look over there because the prices for their frames are on the rather High side. Love this eye doctor and I will continue to stay a patient here until I move or they stop taking my insurance! read more

I also ordered contact lens and new glasses. They have a special selection of glasses including the lens for a great price if you ask that I have used before. Stephanie David Doct I had a very negative experience with this doctor. She acted in an unprofessional manner and, most concerning, violated patient confidentiality by sharing medical information without consent. In addition, her behavior was disrespectful and showed a lack of the ethics expected from a healthcare professional. As a patient, I trusted that my information would be treated with privacy and respect, but unfortunately, that was not the case. I strongly believe that someone who behaves this way should not be practicing medicine. read more

I received a recommendation to take my 8-year-old son to the doctor for his first eye appointment. I was scheduled for a 3:30 PM appointment by someone named Loy (I may not have the spelling correct). I arrived at 3:19 PM and waited for about five minutes before being informed that the doctor would not see us because I was late. However, the appointment time they had on file was 3:00 PM. A staff member mentioned that there is a grace period, and I was four minutes outside that window. I explained that, from my perspective, I was actually 11 minutes early and that there was a mistake with the scheduling. I emphasized that this was my son's first eye appointment for glasses and that I had signed him out of school to attend. Unfortunately, the staff member insisted that the doctor would not see us. There was no effort made to find an amicable solution or to accommodate us as new patients. I felt embarrassed by the lack of care and the dismissive attitude I encountered. I told him I would not be returning, and he continued to stare at his computer, leaving me feeling awkward as I walked away. They turned away a child for what they deemed to be a four-minute delay. He further went to mention that the doctor had to see a patient that had more pressing issues than my appointment and she definitely would not see my son. After I returned home, I reviewed my handwritten notes from my call with Loy I can confirm with 100% certainty that I indeed had a 3:30 PM appointment. I even mentioned to her that I would be cutting it close because my son had school, and she told me to just arrive by 3:30. The complete lack of bedside manner I experienced today was unacceptable, and I would never recommend this facility based on how I was treated in front of my 8-year-old. read more

I've been coming to the eye center for over 15 years. I've seen many different doctors over the years and they have all been pleasant and knowledgeable about eyes! Prescription glasses can get expensive fast so If you don't have good coverage it can be quite pricey. Over all the location is clean and up to date and I will continue to use the eye center for my optometrist needs. read more

This office has changed from being great with customer service to pushing products and services for their financial well being. Aside from including items I did not ask for when checking out the cost of their lenses is outrageous. I asked them to only change my lenses due to the slight increase in prescription yet the cost with 50% insurance coverage would have been $270. The worst part is the doctor dilated my eyes even though I explained I had an interview in an hour. She said no worries it will not take long and by the time your at the interview u will no longer have the affects. Well that was incorrect after waiting for 40 minutes for doctor to examine my eyes I let the front desk know I would be in the restroom and when I returned less than 5 minutes later they took someone else. Even worse the two front desk personnel were rude and argumentative. I had no choice but to leave without an eye exam. The drive to my interview was terrible I felt disoriented and unsafe. Luckily I made it on time. Yet by the time i got home I had a terrible headache. I wonder if they charged my insurance company for an exam that was never completed... Although I drove 45 minutes for this office because I have been a customer since 2019 they have lost me as a customer due to this horrible experience. As of writing this review I have yet to pick up my glasses. I have warranty with my current pair, so I drive to the eye center and they order a new pair, everythings looking great. The employee assisting me says the glasses will be ready in a week. A week comes by, and I call to see if they are ready. After about 4 calls from two different numbers no one is picking up the phone. So I head there anyways. Theres at least 4 people sitting at the front desk and not one phone could have been answered. Ok. Hopefully the glasses are ready right? Nope. They say that they will call the manufacturer of the frames because that what the delay seemed to be. They said they would give us a call/update a day later. Never happened. 4 days later, I call to see if my glasses are ready, and they still are not. Finally just on wednesday (4 days ago) I get a call that they are ready. On their website, the hours listed for saturday are 8 AM to 11:45 AM. When I arrived, I was greeted by a sign that said they were gonna be closed until monday. You would think they would post this on their website right? And I did call before coming as well, and no where in their automated bot did they say that they were closed that day. After I get my last pair of glasses I will not be coming back here. I absolutely love The Eye Center. This office is clean and comfortable - and much bigger than you would imagine from looking at the outside. Everyone is warm and friendly, and it is very easy to check in and out. My family and I have been coming here for our annual exams for the past couple years and even though I've moved, I still make my appointments here to see Dr. Olivares. Dr. Olivares is one of the nicest, most professional, and knowledgeable eye doctor I've ever had. I've been wearing glasses/contacts since the third grade and no one makes me feel more comfortable. She is very friendly and has an upbeat attitude, and she always remembers to ask about my sister and little details I've told her about my life. Our exams always go smoothly. Dr. Olivares truly listens and cares about what I have to say about my contacts, glasses, etc. She is always showing me new contacts or adjusting to my needs and it truly is a 5 star experience. I didn't get fitted for glasses during this exam, but usually I am also paired with someone who is knowledgeable about glasses and their wear. They always recommended different types of finishes on the lens to help my eyes best, along with offering honest opinions about the looks of different frames! read more

My second visit started out better than the first. The staff did not try to upsell me anything. I was taken in without too much of a wait. The salesman for the glasses was kind and helped me pick some basic frames. Next, the doctor checked my eyes again. He asked me how the service was with the sales rep and I told him it was good. Then Dr. Davis suggested that I write an updated review. That is taboo in the world of Yelp. Owners should not ask customers to change reviews. It should come from Yelpers themselves and only if the feel like it. The new frames were too tight so I just went to Costco where the rep told me that the prescription was for coke bottle type glasses. I have never worn thick reading glasses. Why would my prescription all of a sudden change without notifying me? I am not impressed with the customer service. I will stick with Costco from now on. read more

I was disappinted, I had and appointment for 3:00 and I arrived early to do paper work and had to wait an additional 30 minutes before I was prescreened. The office seemed busy, but not that busy. On the positive the doctor was nice and did a good job so I was satisfied with her work. The negative the office staff doing the pre screening poked me in the eye on the gloccoma test. I never had this happen. The office staff were very agressive in up selling additional services. I glass prices are crazy expensive. I was shocked to see the pricing for the glasses. My wife just got similar glasses similar prescription for a fraction of the cost. I was very disapointed and will probably not go back. read more

Please do not waste your time or money with these quack doctors and incompetent staff. I went to this practice as a recommendation by a coworker. I had an issue with styes. I actually believed the doctor knew what she was doing in helping me with this issue. After a few months of going repeatedly because this issue would keep returning. The doctor wanted me to do an expensive treatment and then go on antibiotics for the rest of my life. When she mentioned the above after not seeing any improvement for over 6 months. I went to get a second opinion. Finally got a doctor that actually knew how to treat the issue and without antibiotics. I haven't had the issue since and it's been more than two years. I did come back last year to get my yearly frames , since they sell the frames I like. This year was a sh$&@&t show. I made an appointment just to order my frames. I brought my new prescription from my doctor. The man that they assigned me with was completely incompetent and didn't listen. I sat down and gave my prescription and said I would like to have the same frames I bought last year with this prescription and I need it shipped to my new address. He said ok and then insisted on touching my frames that I was wearing from last year. He pumps a solution on to some paper towels and then wipes the solution all over my glasses. Then looks at the serial number and hands it back. I notice immediately that there is a sticky feeling and the finish on the frames which were black.... now had a grey cloudy look to them. I was like what happened. He took them back and wiped the frames with the same paper towels and it became worse. He said he would take them to the back and be back. He returned after 10 minutes. I was fuming but stayed calm. He does not apologize for ruining my frames. He instead states that they are defective. I'm like how when I have had no issue with them for over 1 year. He then says I will get them replaced. He orders my new one and says he has to have the old one to send away too. Leaving me with out any glasses. When I tell him I have no other pair ... he says well the. You can come back in a few weeks and start the process then. I'm like hell no. Then he says well go buy some cheap ones somewhere else. I'm like the audacity. He was also suppose to tell me when my glasses actually shipped. He did not. Never even got an email or text with the tracking number. He didn't even give a receipt or anything proving that he had my original frames. I was like I need something and he said no I didn't. I checked out after placing my order. I tell older lady working the front desk as I'm checking out that I need to update my address and that I'm having my frames. I gave her my drivers license so she can input the new address. It took her 2 times to type in the correct address. As I'm waiting for her to check me out.... I witness two male workers working the front desk gossiping and not answering the phones as they are ringing nonstop. The older lady checking me out asks them if they answered the call on hold from 5 minutes ago and they didn't. She then says she did me a favor by not charging me the 20 cents and evened out my bill. I was like are you kidding me. I have to now spend 15 dollars or more to get temporary glasses until the ones ruined by your coworker show up. I have never seen such a ridiculous setup. So many incompetent workers. There are so many better places to spend your hard earn money. read more

This center came highly recommended from my insurance VSP as a preferred provider. I made an appt easily on the phone, arrived 10 minutes early to fill out usual new patient paperwork. After the computerized tests and scary puff in eye test the optometrist Dr. Semel saw me immediately. He's a very no BS kind of guy - which I appreciate. He quickly determined my prescription and I was on my way to selecting frames with the optician. The office staff were all very cordial and professional. My glasses were completed in about 2 weeks with a one week delay coming from my insurance company that requires all lenses be tested to ensure prescription is correct. Will be visiting every year until I finally decide to take the plunge and get LASIK! read more

Doctor Davis is very good ! His exam is better than the average optometrist ! But I do not recommend getting eye glasses there . Promised that these titanium glasses would never fall off my face / that was a wrong statement . I was back there 5 times to have adjustments ! Problem was that the frames were a poor fit for me . My son has been seeing Dr. Amanda Nanasy for three years now and she's the absolute best! Very good with kids! She's very professional, answers all your questions. The staff here as well is very professional and are knowledgable in regards to insurance related questions and if you need a call back to verify your insurance they are the best! The only reason I didn't give this place five stars is because the wait time can sometimes get to you. But if a place is busy that means it's an excellent establishment! So I don't mind the wait as long as my son is getting the best service. Also their glasses are in the higher end. This year my son was able to get some decent frames with his insurance still paid 200 for the frames. Last year I got the prescription and took them to target and paid 120 and target has a better policy on broken frames, kids are kids! I think next time I'll try target again! read more

I've used them for years, but my last visit left a bad taste in my mouth. I will never return. Saw a Spanish man, don't remember his name. I found a frame I liked and ordered sunglasses, they came in 2 weeks later. The moment I put on my face, sunglasses fell off. The lady that took care of me this time said "The lens all wrong for this frame" ....Like it was my fault. She said I had to pick another frame "in same price range" , very meager selection. I hated the new frames, but was told "nothing they can do but order different frames. I felt I had no choice. I ordered ugly frames, picked them up and wore them unhappily until I found another much better optical provider that gave Me sunglasses that I am very happy with! I've had nothing but positive experiences both times I've been here. I'm called in quickly (even when I was 15 minutes late to my last appt). I'm also always impressed with how they seem to have the latest and greatest technology in optometry. My last optometrist must have had a lot of the more old school setups because I hated going to the eye doctor. All the tests would freak me out. Coming here, it's a breeze! Nothing painful, everything is quick. Dr. Olivares is who I see and she's the best! She's the first person that finally got me to try contacts after being terrified of them for almost 32 years. I have been going to the eye center for years over 10 years to be exact. Each year the service has gotten worst. My last exam was on December 31. I ordered my glasses I told the technician I wanted transitioned lenses and not the anti-glair because the "up charge" was too much. The technician advised me he would lower the cost on the anti-glair because I really needed the anti- flair. He was very addiment about it. I didn't get my glasses until almost a month later. After having the glasses for a week I realized my vision is worst with the new glasses there was no anti- glair and no transition. I went back to let them know. They gave me another exam. The first prescription was wrong. They corrected my lenses and said they would be ready on February 17. I got a call on that day from the eye center saying my glasses are not ready but they will be ready Thursday(February 20). No one called me to say my lenses were ready. Today March 7. I called to see if my lenses are ready they tell me yes.I go thinking I am going to have my new lenses Noooooo the technician ordered ONE lense! Who does that!! I asked for my prescription and left. The technician who wrote my prescription and eye glasses is about 70 years old he was also the "supervisor". When people can't do their job proficiently it's time to retire!! Whenever I get my lenses I will not be going back the anymore ! read more

This place is great and especially Dr. Nanasy! I used to go to LensCrafters but kept getting someone other than the doctor that had been recommended to me. I got a referral from a good friend whose whole family goes to see Dr. Nanasy. I went in and told her that I am getting older and need reading glasses all the time. She recommended some multifocal contact lenses. I had never heard of them anywhere else I have been, and they have truly changed my life. I only need reading glasses for very fine print or reading for a long time. I can read the bill in the restaurant! The exam was prompt and thorough and they gave me contacts to try for a week first. I went to this eye clinic for over 20 years and "watched" the service there get worse and worse each year. Too many times I had to return glasses because of a mistake in the prescription. There is no feeling of personal care now. It is just a business. You are given impersonal treatment by everyone from the receptionist to the eye doctor to the eye glasses fitter. Any new type of eye testing or product is only used to upsell, so that they can charge you or your insurance company more money.They keep emailing me appointment requests and I keep telling them to unsubscribe me, but the emails keep coming. Dr. Morris was my doctor the entire time. However, if I ran into him outside of his office, he didn't recognize me. Perhaps he needed new glasses! read more

Not a fan. I have been here a few times and got roped into spending way more than I needed to in the past (I had never had contacts and didn't really understand what would be best for me). I also was also told I needed to have a specific eye exam that I later found out I had to cover out-of-pocket, and they never informed me that I could have the same test done in another way for free, so that was annoying and expensive. Otherwise, it seems like they had everything there to provide all services. On my last visit, one of the Dr.'s insisted I try a weighted contact, which I did. I hadn't even made it out of the exam and I could't see... and my eye was very visibly pouring tears down my face because something was wrong. The Dr. ( I wish I could remember which one) was unnecessarily defensive (weird) and snapped at me and made me feel like I had no idea what I was talking about. He looked at it with his scope, told me it was fine and that it would be 'a little uncomfortable' and to keep it in. I made it to the front desk before I couldn't take the pain and then took it out. I couldn't see clearly out of my eye for 3 full days following that. Obviously that isn't me just being 'uncomfortable'. I am especially annoyed because I spoke up and said something was wrong, and he shot me down like I was just wining and like I had no idea what was best for myself. I am sorry maybe the doctor had a bad day or whatever, but he should have learned by now not to take it out on his patients. I would have been better off if I never went. read more

The exam was fine, the staff friendly and competent. Unfortunately that's where it stops. When ordering my new glasses, one for distance and another for reading which requires a bifocal for close and more distant reading, I settled on new frames. Both pair were to be ready June 28 and I said, 'No rush I'll be on a trip and won't be back until July 5th." So I'm no the afternoon of July 6th I go to pick up,my new glasses and discover they only ordered the reading glasses. They did not order the distance glasses. I had them print out the prescription and cancelled the order for both pair of glasses. They are going to have to credit back my VSP insurance by Monday. Paying more than $400 for both the exam and glasses plus what my insurance paid I had expected more competent service. I'll get my new glasses at Costco before I'd ever return to this place. read more

I called in advance to find out the cost for an eye exam and optical prescription. I was given a price, and I reconfirmed price when I arrived at m appointment. While there, they kept trying to "up sell" other services like I was in a store, which I refused, because I just wanted a basic exam. When done, they handed me a bill for more than I was told, when I asked why, they double talked as to why I had to pay more, even though I had not authorized any additional services. Great place. I went there to get a full eye exam for contact lenses and the service was excellent. Saw the doctor clean all the machines before I used them. He explanied to me each test he was performing. Very nice front desk staff. Everyone was very friendly, even the patients waiting in the waiting room. I like this office very much simply because they have excellent doctors who take their time with you, especially when it comes to testing and explaining all that they are doing. They have helped me with my vision problems big time. However, the lack of the fifth star has a lot to do with pricing on the eyeglasses. They are a bit pricey, but the selection is excellent. I visited The Eye Center for the first time today & was seen by Dr. Olivares. She was incredibly thorough & knowledgable. My main issue was my discomfort with contacts. She didn't just give me a pair of contacts to take home, she gave me different options to try on to see which one was the most comfortable. I usually can't handle wearing contact lenses for more than an hour or so, but I'm going on hour 4 with the pair she gave me and I'm having no issues. I recently had an eye emergency. I immediately called The Eye Center and they got me in quickly with Dr. Richard Davis. After tests, he diagnosed me with a torn retina in my left eye. At that point, Dr. Davis quickly and personally set me up for surgery at the FT Lauderdale Eye Institute in order to immediately correct the problem. That afternoon, I was in surgery and it was successfully completed. I am currently recovering well. I am forever indebted to Dr. Davis for his commendable skill and personal attention. I have been going to The Eye Center for over 20 years. I ran into a few glitches when Dr. Morris retired as the doctor who took over his practice was not as knowledgeable in the area of gas permeable contact lenses. I decided to give Dr. Nguyen a try before going somewhere else. I am glad that I did because she is an excellent doctor. She is very knowledgeable and explains everything she is doing during the examination. Dr. Nguyen is also very friendly and personable. The phones are staffed with friendly personnel and I love the fact that they answer your call immediately. The front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. When it comes to selecting the perfect pair of glasses, Belinda is awesome. Her suggestions for frames have helped me get outside my "comfort zone" and I am always pleased with the outcome! read more
