I deserve to be refunded, period. - This was my first visit to Southern Roots, and while I had high hopes based on the stylist's reviews, my experience unfortunately didn't go as expected. When I left the appointment, my hair had been curled, which can easily mask issues with color or placement. It wasn't until I straightened it two days later that I saw the actual results, and it was clear that the outcome didn't match the inspo photos I shared or the conversation we had beforehand. I reached out right away with photos, and while the stylist responded kindly and offered to fix it, I ultimately decided I wasn't comfortable with another appointment. I was then told the salon doesn't offer refunds, and instead, the owner, who I did not book with would be the one to do the correction. As a first-time client, this doesn't sit well with me. I don't feel comfortable going back, and I don't believe I should have to. I am not asking for anything beyond a fair resolution, and a refund would allow me to go elsewhere and have the issue addressed by someone of my choosing. Out of respect, I won't name the stylist - I don't believe this policy is hers, and I know she's done great work for many others. But I do think the salon's refund policy and how this situation was handled deserve to be shared. I'm including photos (the inspo pictures and my result) so others can make their own judgment. I always prefer to handle these things privately, but I also believe in transparency, especially when your first experience as a client leaves you feeling dismissed.

She got the manager, who then told me she could fix it and make it look how I wanted it. She went over everything with me and again the color came out wrong, much better than before, but still not what I wanted. She also severely messed up the bangs I asked for. By far the worst haircut experience, and maybe the worst professional experience, of my life. My…read morehair was to my waist when I came in a week ago, I showed the hair stylist a reference photo of a mid-length hairstyle that I have had before, and my head was shaved short afterwards. The haircut I received does not resemble the reference photo in any way. When I requested a refund, they said they would try to cut it again, but the main issue is the fact that it is too short, why would I want it to be cut again? Especially after the original experience? Then I was told to contact the owner by email, but it has been a week since I sent an email and no one has responded to me. I was conscientious in my email, and included multiple photos to prove my claim. To summarize, my reference photo was, at best, ignored, no one at the salon was willing to admit accountability, and the owner never responded to my email. So now I am just stuck with a haircut I hate until it grows out to the proper length, for $65. I genuinely would have achieved a result closer to my desired hairstyle if I just attempted to cut my hair myself. Attaching the reference photo, and a photo of the haircut I received, taken approximately 30 minutes after my appointment ended. I tried to do everything right, I've never requested a refund from any business before, I was not rude to anyone, I gave the owner double the time I was told to wait before I decided to post this review, but it seems like this business is not concerned with doing anything right. Update: adding the email I waited over a week for because it is just insane, to put it simply. I noticed this trend in other negative reviews where Wild Olive will not admit to anything they do wrong. They are "perfect". In the owner's own words, expect "a very different outcome" if you choose to go here. Because even if your hair is appropriate for the style and you have had the style for years before, they will just try to gaslight you, and then apologize for your own confusion (aka blaming you) when you receive a "very different outcome" from an expectation that has been achieved multiple times by Great Clips.
