Beware! I purchased…read morea used 4WD vehicle from Concord Car Sales (Mitsubishi Triton), paid for it $19,500 (top dollar, considering that Redbook valuation is only $12,990), because the dealer ASSURED me that he used to be a mechanic, and that he checked the car and that the car HAS NO ISSUES. On my first trip out of the city I got stuck (but naively I said to myself, it is only a one off, the dealer said the car is fine, right?). After I got stuck with it again on my second trip, I took it to Diesel Systems specialists (Cornell Diesel Systems) who got recommended to me by my mechanic. After 3 hours thorough inspection, they produced a detailed diagnostic report that outlined major defects, with an estimated repair cost of over $16,000! (82% from what I paid for the car only 2 1/2 months ago) I contacted the dealer and provided him a copy of the report, and he basically washed his hands off it, coming up with dumbest excuses saying "it is because you didn't drive enough with it" and that "He talked with a friend of his in the USA who is a diesel mechanic and that friend said the car is fine.. (of course that friend never actually saw the car) what a joke!! He then advised me "what to say" to the mechanical insurance company, so that that they will pay more... needless to say, i refused it outright, and reported the condition of the car to the insurance company as it is. I also shared with them what he told me (needless to say - they were furious and escalated it to upper management). To cut a long story short - the insurance offered to pay some of the repair cost , but its not even 30% of what the repair would cost. Only after I applied to VCAT, the dealer started showing interest... He took the car for "inspection" and said that his "4Wd specialist" couldn't find any major issues (he didn't provide the name of that specialist, their company name or any copy of a report..) I asked him to take the car back and refund me but he refused. I am waiting for VCAT hearing now. Beware

Knew the jingle well, driven past it a bunch on the way to the Yarra Valley, but had never actually…read morebeen to Car City before yesterday. It's big, but not overwhelmingly so. Just big enough and with a number of different dealers of second-hand cars to give you plenty of options, even if most of them do seem to be dealing in the same sort of range. With that much competition I was expecting to be annoyed at pushy salesmen hovering at every turn, but mostly they just said hi and to let them know if we needed help. (There's definitely a *type* of salesman there, seems like you see/hear the same guy impossibly popping up at every second dealer you pass!) A good place to come for some recon if thinking about getting a 'new old' car, as saves you wasting a day driving around to a whole bunch of places to see whats out there.

Flat out liars. Don't go near them…read more I attempted to purchase a used 535i BMW from them recently. The car was advertised for $10950.00. I inspected the car and pointed out 4 things I would want fixed or done before I would purchase the car. The 4 items were: 1. Grilles in bonnet to be fixed in properly. Need new clips or to be replaced. 2. Bumper to be reattached properly. One clip had popped on the drivers side and needed to be reattached. 3. Side plastic on drivers seat to be attached properly. Plastic broken at mount. Replace or have welded back together. 4. Service. Obvious. I made an offer of $9500.00 based on these being done which was rejected. Fair enough. Ten days later after seeing the car on carpoint for $1k less than originally advertised I rang and made the deal based on the 4 items being sorted at a price of $9725.00. The salesman agreed and a $500.00 deposit was paid via VISA over the phone. I went to pick the car up on Thursday 14/6/12, paid the balance, via bank cheque, and did the paperwork. We then went to get the car. Funny thing, none of the 4 things were done! The salesman made a bit of a song and dance saying that the car was sent out to have the grilles and bumper done and he couldn't understand why they hadn't been done. He then disappeared for half an hour to 'see the boss' and get it sorted out. The salesman came back with an offer from the boss to silicone the grilles in place and change the oil which I promptly rejected because it was not even close to the deal we had done. I then asked the salesman if I could speak to the boss, a request which was rejected. The salesman kept apologising for the 'misunderstanding'. I demanded my bank cheque and deposit back. I recieved the bank cheque but am yet to recieve my deposit. I can't believe a dealership would operate like this, allowing their sales staff to tell blatant lies to try to get a sale. This review will be part of my formal complaint to both Eastern Honda and Honda Australia. I will update when and if I get a response. Thanks for reading.
