Oh wow, where do I start! Back in December I was on my way home with a man whom (now my boyfriend wow) and we stopped at this gas station. I was astonished by the animals and the level of customer service. The entire herd was welcoming, eager and excited for pets. Fun fact: you can grab treats inside for the herd, 50 cents and a nice dropping of pellets will dispense. Months later, here I am in bed thinking about the Sublett Fuel Stop. Godspeed. read more

I absolutely love these reviews and comments. I am thankful we stopped because it allowed me to stumble upon the entertainment associated with this Yelp page. It's a good way to pass some of the long road trip. I didn't look the business up prior to stopping, though my husband pointed out the poor rating. Sometimes the mom and pop stores are the best experiences, compared to chain stores, not so here. We stopped simply for gas (overpriced, as previously mentioned by others). Like many travelers, we figured why not get a snack and go to the bathroom. There is no public restroom, and as mentioned by everyone the person (man, in this case) behind the counter was not the friendliest. The customer area of the store is probably 8x10, and the snack selection was very limited. As others noted, I'd try to stop at the gas station before or hold off until after, if possible. Unless you are looking for the entertainment of interacting with the staff and animals. 1 star because that's the minimum you can give and their gas price sign made me laugh. The cutest little stop :} the man at the counter was a sweetheart and all the animals were adorable. Picked up the derpiest little alpaca (clearly handmade, in a good way) for my baby brother! Regardless of bathrooms and trashes, this is a worthwhile stop. Brought a good bit of joy and whimsy into our drive. 100% recommend!! read more

No garbages, no bathrooms. Gas pumps don't automatically stop (is that even legal?) so there was a nice puddle of wasted gasoline. A fence on the west side of the building says "high voltage fence." This fence is close to their petting zoo where people are encouraged to feed the animals pellets. Just doesn't seem like a safe proximity. For a gas station called the middle of nowhere, you would think they would have services that people in the middle of nowhere might need. read more

just stopped in a couple of minutes ago. immediately we see the cute animals along with a food deposit machine for only a quarter! animals were all so lovely!! store also has some humor with cute little "contraptions" you could say. made me laugh and set my groups mood for a good road trip. My wife and I stopped on our road trip after seeing a billboard for the petting zoo. We figured we would fuel up, take a bathroom break and visit some alpacas. As we pulled up, the building and sign looked like something out of a horror movie. The gas station was closed (I guess they aren't open on Sundays) and there was a sign in the door saying that there are NO bathrooms available. There were a couple run down cars parked in front of the gas pumps. The only sign of life were some desperate looking animals. I would have loved to feed them, but the store where you buy their feed was closed. Bummer. Strange place. I'll probably pass this one next time I'm in the area. read more

First it took multiple swipes to get the card to go through (there is a sign indicating sometimes communication doesn't work). Once it swiped and I pushed 87, gas started squirting everywhere - the handle was stuck on the push position and it wouldn't stop. I tried to get it into the fuelI hole on the car as quickly as possible. I was covered in gas and the car was covered. The door was locked with a sign "Stepped away for a minute." Plus, they have NO RESTROOMS. Had to strip down in the parking lot, use paper towels and bottled water to clean up and change into other clothes. There are also NO GARBAGE CANS so I placed the gas soaked paper towels on the ground next to the gas pump. As we started to roll away a man opened up my door and threw the gas soaked paper towels inside the car. He had one hand holding his phone filming me. I gave him the bird and rolled away. The next stop was a rest area about 16 miles down the road where we disposed of the towels and the clothes. We drove the 16 miles with the windows down as we had three little kids in the car. Next time we will bypass this place and go a little further to Flying J Where they have restrooms, garbage cans and employees that come to work. read more

Fun stop to stretch the legs after a long roadtrip and fill up on gas. No restroom, but they do offer a funky shop that will sure give you some laughs and memories. There is a small petting zoo with donkeys, llamas, and goats. Have a quarter on hand for the grass pellets and you'll have all the animals attention in seconds. read more

Well the owners once again prove they don't care about people running out of gas in the middle Of nowhere. Gas 24 hours means only one thing. Why would you put that on a billboard knowing YOU ARE THE ONLY GAS STATION FOR LIKE 80 miles? And you aren't open 24 hoirs' maybe 24 hours a week. You are not open 24 hours...would it be so hard to take your signs and billboards down and change them? Seems like a decent thing to do. You do not seem decent, so i expect those signs will remain. The prices are more than a dollar over in town prices but... it's not in town haha this place is in the middle of nowhere (as the sign says on their window haha) so I'm sure they aren't getting bulk discounts from the fuel companies and they probably pay an arm and a leg for delivery. We were running very low on fuel and this is the only place around. So regardless of the price, I am happy that it is here and we didn't have to walk or call AAA haha the animals were a nice touch... super unique! read more

DON'T STOP here!!! NO restroom, no trash can, no windshield cleaner, & girl working at the counter wasn't nice. You can tell she hates her job. I don't blame her, crappy place to work. This convenience store is inconvenient. I should have looked up the reviews before I stopped here. 2 stars speaks for itself. Next stop is 15 mins away. Go there! Outside near the pumps, they have 2 donkeys, 2 goats & a llama who are kept in a small fence and look bored. They have pellets you can buy to feed them if you choose to stop there. Follow up response: You can tell by the way the company replies that they don't have integrity. Poor management. Such a shame. read more

If you stop at a gas station in the middle of nowhere, then you expect a bathroom. You have time to read comments, post signs, but not the time to mention on your business that there isn't a bathroom?! It should be listed as a small petting place with gas available. Also, didn't feed animals because the feeders were just about empty. The signs were cute, but everything else, including other reviews have left a bad taste in mouth for Idaho. read more

Only stop here if you don't have enough gas to get anywhere else. Very expensive gas and if you do stop here you'll have to stop at the next place anyway because there are NO RESTROOMS. Didn't feel like giving them anymore money than necessary if I can't even come in and take a wiz. Just plan better than we did and stop 15 minutes sooner. Didn't have time to pet the alpacas since I was in a hurry. Yes the gas is very expensive here. Maybe next time fill up in Utah or near a larger town. After seeing the sign I put a couple gallons in and filled up the rest at a cheaper station. I assumed that's what most people do at this station. Wow! Being treated as a child by the owner when posting my review just shows how strong his patriarchal self-importance runs. By the way, reviews are a great tool for assessing customer service. I've worked in the customer service industry wearing many different hats. I have even worked for a gas station and would have never dreamt of speaking to customers the way this man does. Oh, posting a review is not whining. It is letting you know you have displeased the customer. And to feel you must parent the adults who come into your establishment for behavior is absolutely ridiculous. I never knew asking if there was a public restrooms was considered a misbehavior. This store don't deserve all the hate! So what if they are closed, pumps are on 24/7, and if your sad there are no restrooms, there is the ground, a new revolutionary spot! All the animals are so cute, and have a large pen, I fed Guzzles twice, and the gas price sign is funny as hell, one side diesel pump, and about 4 normal pumps, pump 87 Reg, if you have anything that is premie, you wouldn't be out here. We stopped at the station because it had diesel and booked itself as open 24 hours. When we arrived there was a sign on the door that said "Back in a bit." It was 10:00 am. We waited much more than "a bit," but eventually decided no one was coming. We felt we had no alternative but to move on down the road. We could not purchase diesel fuel with a credit card, and had to pay inside, and therefore no fuel wavailable. We were counting on the station being open because it was the last stop before we ran out of gas. Now we are stuck on the side of interstate 84. Thanks a lot for nothing. We passed by the same station nearly one month later and took pictures of the front of the station, the side wall showing 24 hour fuel and visible from the road, and the front door with the same "back in a bit" sign. There were others waiting to get fuel, who had been there apparently some time and drove off after we arrived. I offer this as an addendum to my original review and a rebuttal to the response from the owner/operator. This is an unreliable fuel source and the owner is a liar. read more
