After being hit with a $293 charge for a simple diagnostic visit--without any upfront disclosure--I called the office expecting a basic explanation. Instead, I was met with shockingly rude and unprofessional behavior. Rather than walking me through the charges, the representative sarcastically asked if I expected services for free. That level of disrespect is completely unacceptable. Clear communication and basic courtesy should be the bare minimum, especially when charging premium prices. As a property manager, I work with vendors regularly and know what good service looks like--this wasn't it. I will absolutely not be working with this company again and would strongly caution others to think twice before using them. read more

Horrible company would never recommend them!! They were hired by my contractor to help with my major home remodel. They had to come to my house so many times I lost count because they couldn't ever finish the job on time! Then, one of the technicians screwed up my light fixture by cutting the wires wrong. I had to buy a new one and was told they would reimburse me and put the correct light fixture back up. When they came to finish the job and fix the light that they messed up. The tech went outside and left without fixing it and without telling me why he was leaving!! Who does that!! I'm a pretty reasonable person, and pretty easy to talk to so I'm really not sure why he just left with no explanation. Don't hire them! read more

I want to warn anyone else thinking of using this company. Six months after they were paid to update the electrical in my house, I'm still coming across issues they neglected. Let me start with the initial issues. They came in seemingly motivated to get the job done and to code. They place the can lighting in fast. It's remained the only good part of their job done. Then after a good start they didn't show up the next day. Then they showed up after the weekend was over at the start of the day, and disappeared and didn't say anything about where they were going and if they were coming back. They didn't show up! I had to call their manager to have them finish as they told them that the job had been completed. A week later they showed up to install the vents to our bathrooms and promptly left again. I was left dumbfounded by what was left. Holes in the walls and in the roof everywhere. I once again called up their supervisor who said they would send someone to fix the holes. No one showed or called. After waiting for a month for them to do right by me I ended up spending 800 to fix the drywall on my own. Since that time other issues have come up that make my want to warn anyone else that would potential use this company. A light in my bathroom was not properly mounted and fell off the wall. They did not rewire all my plugs in and around the house that I spent about 5000 for. They did not place the dimmers in my front living room. Lastly but most impressively they dug an electrical box for an electrical line to my shed, right directly under the gutter drain. This, as you would have expected, shorted the line out. Once again this is a warning to anyone who thinks using this company is a wise choice. read more

Just wanted to take a moment to give a write-up about Sublime Electric. It all started out with Luke coming out to give me a quote on electrical work I needed to have done. After a few days, I felt it was a fair quote a decided to have them do the work. Scheduling was easy, as the owner Clay does that. He sent out Tony (journeyman) and Travis (apprentice) to do the work. They showed up on-time and worked through lunch and into the afternoon to finish the job. Both were very good and cleaned up after themselves throughout the day. The inspector came out the next day and looked at everything and let me know the work looked good and was up to code. Have called 3x now! Finally got them to come give an estimate. It's been several weeks, crickets! No estimate! I'm not calling them yet one more time! Obviously they are too busy to even call this customer back. I only have one thing to say- I will remember all these businesses that have flaked on us, when the contracting market dries up!! Darn, I loved Sublime and referred a LOT of new customers to them. Last week I booked an 8:30 appointment for this morning (I work full time and have kids in school) and at the last second before hanging up, the woman said, "It could be as late at 9 depending on traffic." That was annoying, but given I live 14 minutes from their business in rush hour traffic, I figured they'd be there by 8:45. I planned to let the guy in, take my kid to school and come back and work from home until he was finished. 8:45, 9:00 came and went, no electrician. I called them at 9:05 before we left for the day but no one answered, so I left a message. Got a call from the electrician in my driveway at 9:11 with no apology and no explanation. Our Christmas lights and a bathroom outlet don't work until this is resolved, so I'm pretty annoyed with them being late AND not caring at all that they let down a good customer. read more

I would like to express my appreciation for a job well done by Andrew Jefferies (who is also the representative for Generac) and also for both Bernardo and Kaiden, who work for Sublime Electric. I recently purchased a full home backup system from Generac. Andrew efficiently and professionally handled all administrative tasks, including obtaining necessary licenses, arranging for required inspections, and ordering the placards required to be posted by law and ensuring that they had been properly installed before the required inspections. Andrew also delivered and helped his workers seat the generator. When it came time for the electrical work to be completed, he showed up at my home with the workers to ensure everyone knew what their assigned tasks were and both Bernardo and Kaiden worked hard, until the electrical work was completed. They worked well together as a team and did a good job. Andrew did the same thing with the workers who completed the work related to my natural gas connections (which I will submit as a separate review for that company). These guys were great! Jared did a great job with responses... they came out to my house 1 year ago when we did a complete kitchen remodel. They can out multiple times as we ran new wiring, new lights, new double oven, island, outlets, down draft and appliances. They were great and even accidentally squished one of our air ducts underneath and paid diamond heating and AC to comeback out and fix it. Really appreciate their work and professionalism! I had a large tree removed which left an exposed wire in my yard. I called sublime and they were able to come out right away. The guy who came was nice and disconnected the yard wire in the box next to the house and was gone in about 5 minutes. A month later I got an invoice in my email. They sent the bill to my old address. It was for $90 so I called to see if they would knock it down since the tech was only here for 5 minutes. They said that was their minimum fee and I pressed a little asking it $50 would be more reasonable to cover gas/driving time (they were close to my house). The lady I was talking to on the phone Tanya said "she didn't want to argue with me and that she could add on a late fee if I would like". Very petty and unprofessional. I asked why she would charge a late fee and she said it was because they mailed the invoice a month ago. I looked at the invoice and realized it was address to my old address and then said they must have sent it to my old address and that they should update it. I asked where they sent it and she said "I'm not going to argue with you about addresses". I said "I've moved and you probably need my new address", but she just said again "I'm not going to argue with you have a good day" and hung up on me. The techs from this company have been very nice and great when I've asked them questions, but unfortunately I think this Tanya lady might give you headaches if you have to work through any billing/admin issues with them, so I have to not recommend them unfortunately. read more

Andrew was useless the entire job several months later and still no clearing of any permits and no communication from Andrew called the office and was met with a equally as ignorant lady. Who did nothing to help. All I want to do is pay the bill and get the permits pulled we have two more generators to install and we gave the work to Magic Electric and they did the job in two days fully permitted for $700 cheaper. So if your on the fence for tjis type of work call Magic. While they werr helping us theu pulled permits for our hot tub and 7 outside outlets. Dealing with ignorant useless people at sublime has been a multi month nightmare. Please don't be fooled by a some positive reviews. read more

I called Sublime Electric on a Monday regarding an over my head electrical problem. A real person answered the phone and scheduled an appointment between 11am and 1pm for Tuesday, the next day. I received a call from the service tech Tate at 10:20am on Tuesday letting me know that he was on his way and would be arriving by 11am. Once Tate arrived he investigated the issue, gave me enough information to know what the problem was (in layman's terms) and fixed the problem within an hour. Tate was one of the best service professionals i've dealt with in Boise. I would assume everyone at Sublime Electric will offer the same excellence as I didn't have a single hiccup in the process. I highly recommend Sublime Electric and will use them again in the future as needed. read more

I have been using Sublime Electric for quite a few years now on many of my properties that I manage. They are fantastic to work with. They are quick to respond, they show up on time, they are professional and their pricing is fair. I can not recommend them more highly. Yesterday I was attempting to get an electrical issue repaired on one of my properties that carries a home warranty. It took over 15 hours to get the home warranty people to respond to my request (Grr!) as you can imagine, my resident with thoroughly upset. Fortunately the home warranty company assigned the call to Sublime (yay!) and they went out the same day and took care of the problem and my residents are once again happy! This is the second time that I have used Sublime. The first time we had a problem with our airconditioning and the service guy wouldn't work on the unit because we had some burnt wires. The repairman called them to do some rewiring. Fast and great service. Just called them out again because I got a new dishwasher and found that the wiring didnt reach because there is no floor space to run the power directly to the connection point. I Knew I didn't want to get involved in a rewiring project so I called them. Next day they arrived and not only did the work I requested but also finished the install of my dishwasher. I got home expecting to have to finish the job and was pleasantly surprised. Great above and beyond service. read more

My neighbors house was struck by lightning (total freak accident) which subsequently caused some electrical damage to our outlet in the garage. I called around and had sublime electric come out since they could sooner than anyone else & we had already lost our deep freezer and all the food in it. The first electrician was so friendly and tightened a wire in the electrical panel in the garage but we still were having issues. When I called back a few days later the secretary said she'd have someone come out that day. The two electricians that came out replaced the gfi outlet within a few minutes and we have had no issues since. However, I received two different $80 charges for each visit. I paid the first one the same day but when I received the second bill I called the office with concerns. I originally figure it was just an accident sending it twice. The secretary said "I completely understand not wanting to pay that, let me ask some questions and get back to you." I wish so badly I had the name of the male who called me because the second I answered the phone I knew he was ready to argue and was upset I even questioned the second bill. He immediately was raising his voice, asking why it mattered paying it twice. When I told him the first electrician only switched a breaker and tightened a wire but the second completely switched out the gfi outlet and that I know it wasn't just extra damage that occurred a few days later because my brother is in an electrician but lives out of town he replied "whatever, I'll void the bill" and hung up on me. I told him how great the service has been, how friendly the staff has been except I thought it was ridiculous to be charged again when it wasn't fixed the first time, he replied "so you think our service is ridiculous?!" Which in fact I never said. I would highly recommend going elsewhere for the sure fact I would not want anyone to be treated the way he did to me over the phone. read more

I called to have a much needed light fixture installed promptly. I was able to get on the schedule within three days time. The contractors showed up on time as planned. They were aware I had a bit of a time crunch and finished exactly as I was leaving. The job was done as though they live in the home themselves. They even asked me if my husband, who would be using the fixture, was right or left handed so they could place the switch appropriately! Work was clean and considerate. My Property Management company sent Sublime out to my home when I had no lights or power in half my house! Needless to say it was frustrating not having lights. Especially in the bathroom! I called my property management company and within 30 minutes Sublime called me to set up an appointment! AMAZING!!! The woman who called was so friendly and understanding and offered to send an electrician out in the next few hours! I was at work and the electrician was there and gone before I got home! AND I HAD WORKING LIGHTS AND OUTLETS!! He fixed everything AND then some! He noticed one of our bedrooms was a little too warm for what was being read by the thermostat so he replaced that too! I was left a nice note explaining what was done. Not only was my house TRASHED but I also have a cat who is, lets just say, less than friendly to most people. He powered through the mess and even left a note saying he loved my cat. MIND BLOWN! I was so impressed with this company and I am so glad they were the ones sent out! I will always use them in the future and I will recommend them to anyone I know! I am so extremely pleased and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
