4-year old furnace. Wanted to make sure things still looked good. Communication from dispatch was excellent. Tech was super helpful and explained things as he went through the system. Checking voltage, gas pressure, live camera, etc. The new install was done under a "home warranty repair contract," and I knew I wasn't bringing that guy back. But the Magic tech showed me the AC float switch that was never wired correctly, the tape that could have blocked a critical kill switch, and left me knowing everything was okay. He confirmed safeties were working properly (after service). I felt good with the updates done. Combustion assessment has a separate price tag, like an al a carte menu. He researched a replacement UV bulb and found a cost while onsite. There was quite a bit of effort to upsell into service agreements. Aside from that, I will certainly consider them for summer AC, hot water, and heater maintenance. For what I needed at the time, perfect. I am considering a annual service agreement for the heater, AC, and hot water. They are apparently expanding to attic insulation ad well. The negative reviews from "CA customers" are puzzling. They deserve 5-stars. read more

I made an online appointment on a Tuesday evening for Thursday, afternoon was the only time offered. Everything was confirmed then Thursday morning I get a text that the company needed people to change their appointments to accommodate the company. I canceled my appointment called A1 and had the problem fixed within 2 hours. Don't let these companies take advantage of you and your time. read more

At one time I had rave reviews for this company. However I just cancelled my multiple monthly service plans and an upcoming project due to a complete fail on communication, customer service and epic disconnect with the technician. This is probably the biggest 180 I've ever experienced with a company but now I understand the reason I was getting that response. The unit that they installed in 2023 was nine years old to begin with. Parts are hard to find when your brand new unit turns out to be outdated from the start. read more

Hired this company in Oct/Nov 2024 to run electrical for a hot tub. That job led to: Breaker replacement, home surge protector install, furnace stopped working during the process - full furnace and AC replacement, duct cleaning for debris, roof vent gasket replacement, and water heater flush. Since then, they continue to try sell me all these items again, repeatedly. For example, when servicing my furnace try to sell me a home surge protector. They continue to call and text me to sell me another furnace - 3 times now, most recently today. All of this within two years of installing those same systems. I don't like this business practice. It's a waste of everyone's time (theirs and mine). I've had to block them as spam. read more

Jeremy and Drew replaced all the interior, exterior outlets, interior light switches, GFCI outlets, they added 3 usb-c outlets, 1 fire/CO2 alarm and 1 fire alarm. About 62 items in total. They were professional, competent, friendly and informative. They answered all my questions accommodated all my requests, and they did the job in one day. I am very pleased with the finished product. I am signed up for Magic & Perfect continuing whole home inspections yearly service plan. For this electric work Chris gave me a thorough and competitive bid for this job. I gave this company a great review the first time, even though their business practices were questionable, because their tech work was impressive. But now that it's happened a second time, I can't overlook it anymore. Be cautious when scheduling them for an estimate. Nowhere do they mention a charge upfront, but once the technician wraps up, they casually ask, "Did you know there's a dispatch fee?" That kind of question makes it clear that even the techs are uncomfortable with the tactic. The first time, there was no mention of a fee until after I signed the work order--suddenly, a $45 charge appeared for the estimate. When I called to complain, they brushed it off as a "mistake." This time, they failed to mention it again but still charged a $50 dispatch fee. My positive review no longer stands, and I won't be using their services again. I'm not necessarily against estimate fees--but only when they're disclosed upfront. The way they handle it feels intentionally deceptive, and that's a dealbreaker for me. Sadly, they hire well but management needs to learn from the employees as they truly suck. My guess is that the owners came from the used car sales industry. read more

Too expensive! Plumber wanted $495 for a garbage disposal install, and $480 to replace a toilet flush assembly, when only a flapper install was needed. Absurdly overpriced. I declined and was informed I had to pay $45 for the quote. Terrible. Don't support these thieves. read more

They came out next day. No issue with setting up an appointment. But how does changing a shower arm and a shower head cost $350? I had to say no. There was nothing wrong with the arm or shower head. They were held together tightly that my tools wouldn't do. I was expecting more like $75 easy fix for them. Woah $350? The saving grace was that coming out fee was waived as first time customers. read more

Well back in May we had trouble with our plumbing, and I must add that was because of their man in the first place. anyways they said they would fix everything at their expense well they did for the most part. They were going to pay part of the electric bill because of the big fans and drying stuff that was on my power. The main man at the Boise told me he would send a check to cover the coast, and we would have it by the end of the week that was almost 30 days ago. And part of the insulation that quick dry was to replace didn't get done. tells me a lot about trusting them won't happen again. Will be using some other plumber going on from this day on. I DON'T KNOW WHY PLACES LIKE THIS DO WHAT THEY DO IT A SAD THING. if could give them a -1star I sure as hell would, they can't be trussed at all. I had to call them a lot to get what I got done in the first place. I am so done with all this crap. Good business seems to be hard to find now days One that can be trusted anyways. And now to Gabe you lied to me when you said a check would be here in a few days that tells me a lot as well. Oh, and last we talked yes it was going well but when they all said they was done and 2 days after I looked it was not and like before the people you had doing it never called me back. Yes, Gabe that was over the floor but the people doing the insulation had not got out here as of then. and they only did part of the job, i gave you time to get the money to me but I think over 1 mouth is way too long getting that. So that says a lot about your company don't it. See I take people at face value, and you said the money would be here in 2 or 3 days but hey it never came so guess most would say you lied. read more

Ty was right on time and polite while very professional from the get go. While evaluating issues that we were having with our water heater, he encouraged questions. Many techs will have an almost pre-planned script, Ty listened to my issues and questions before providing what I felt were answers based on years of experience. Ty explained in lay terms why we needed a new water heater and offered ideas for additional work I wanted with our water main shut off valve accessibly. He installed our new water heater without rushing and explained his processes as he went about his work. He ended up saving us money on that shut off valve by configuring the access floor hatch so piping reconfiguration wasn't necessary. We've had such satisfactory service when using Magic that we joined the Perfect Care Club. We'll be requesting Ty for our future service needs. read more

Grant was here to diagnose why air was not blowing out of several vents in our home. He quickly realized the problem, fixed it, checked all the vents, took a look at our AC unit, killed a swarm of wasps, made suggestions on how to keep our home cooler/assist the AC function. I called Magic because I had lost power to the front room and part of my kitchen and none of the things I knew to check were solving the problem. They scheduled a visit for me for the next day and had Cameron come out. Scheduling was easy, they sent me a picture and a bio of who was coming, and called letting me know they were on the way. Cameron let me know what the charges to figure out the issue would be and then asked me a few questions, tested a few things and figured out what my issue was very quickly. He replaced an outlet and a light switch that were old and fragile that shorted had caused the issue. He was very professional, and kind and answered all my questions in detail explaining what had happened. I would highly recommend Magic! read more

Boise Valley Electric replaced two ceiling fans, and installed a combination exhaust fan/heater/light in my bathroom. They did a great job, and did a commendable job cleaning up after themselves. I told them that I did not need the remote for the fans hooked up. After I realized that the fan would only have one speed without the remote, they came back and installed the remote at no charge. I would definitely use them again in the future. read more
