With Submarine Brothers being nearby a place that I frequent, it made for the perfect stop to order from post completion of my workout nearby. It sits amongst a strip of restaurants that I am very familiar with along W Roosevelt Rd. And its 4.1 star rating out of 260+ on Uber Eats was the assurance I needed that I would have a quality ordering experience. Being that Submarine Brothers is known for sub-style sandwiches, I did my research before visiting since I am pescatarian. On the menu, I took interest in items like their fish sandwich, cheese sub, shrimp basket, butter garlic fries, and their regular fries. Out of the few items that caught my eye, I ended up ordering the butter garlic fries along with a cup of nacho cheese; a cup of nacho cheese that made my mouth salivate just thinking of it while paired with those butter garlic fries. Oh honey, yes! I love ordering online because it is convenient! Most of the time my orders are completed upon my arrival or near complete. By the time I arrived at Submarine Brothers my order awaited behind the counter during this ordering experience. Picking up was just confirming my name, order, and I was well on my way. I am grateful to have had a smooth online ordering experience because it is a highly preferred method for me ordering anywhere especially while on the go. As for parking, the parking space is shared with two other businesses: LA Smokes, and Arts Food & Liquor. With what both businesses consist of, the space may give off sketchy vibes for some because of the likelihood of encountering individuals who are in and out of the area or just lingering! And there are limited parking spots in this space considering that it is shared, plus it may feel tight knit if you have a larger sized vehicle. As for my order, the butter garlic fries smelled so delightful as I got a whiff of them while getting inside of my vehicle. The smell of them during my 8-mile drive home made me anticipate the taste of them. After opening the lid of the styrofoam container and getting my first glimpse of those butter garlic fries that had my taste buds salivating, I said to myself "whoa!". They were well-seasoned and oh my they tasted so delicious! They were so delicious that it made it hard to savor each moment because I was grabbing fries in small bundles by the second, tehehe. An addictive taste that made me want more as my fingers were left with butter and garlic residue on them. At the bottom of the styrofoam container were the buttery fries that I totally anticipated eating once I saw how drenched they were with butter. After I finished, I was left with a smirk on my face knowing that I will have them again at some point because the butter garlic fries were good, very good! After this ordering experience, I would not hesitate to order from again outside of some of my favorite restaurants in the immediate area. When driving down Roosevelt road one place has caught my eye quite a few times that I never bothered to set foot in. Submarine Brothers with its somewhat gaudy sign has been passed by time and time again. One Saturday afternoon I finally took the time to stop in and give it a try. Submarine Brothers has a lot more than just subs, they have burgers, gyros, Italian beefs, basically this place is a traditional Chicago style greasy spoon that also has subs. In stopping by the imagery of a hot dog on the sign drew me in. I decided to go for a hot dog, despite the name submarine brothers there was only one lady working who both took my order and prepared the food. A few minutes later my hot dog was ready and it was time to dig in. The hot dog I received came on a somewhat dry poppy seed bun, it was skinless there was a long pickle slice and a lot of mustard. The onion was chopped up and the relish was applied quite sparingly. The sport peppers on top were good and there was two to match the length of the dog itself.This led to a fairly unbalanced overall combination of flavors. The mustard was a strong overwhelming flavor here. Overall I was unimpressed with Submarine Brothers, a longer than normal wait combined with a below average hot dog left me disappointed. If you're in the area I'd recommend skipping by this place, flashy sign or not better options exist in either direction along Roosevelt. Instead of being called submarine brothers, maybe subpar brothers would be a more appropriate name for this restaurant. Two stars for this place. read more

Haven't been in here in years! As a child and a teen it use to be 1 of my favorite places to get a ribeye steak sandwich from until I was able to drive and discovered Greektown! Lolbs. WHEN YOU KNOW BETTER YOU DO BETTER!!!! I came in and got my same old favorite items ribeye steak sandwich & fries. The sandwich filled my hunger at 2am. Will I go back by choice at 7pm, NO!!! I had a corned beef sub from them and it was horrible. The corned beef was wet and slimy and nasty. I won't be returning here.

They change alot, it used to be the place to go to 90s and early 2000's but after new mangement they put less food and taste way different, I guess times change because it's never crowded like it use to be. read more
