The 2 regular sandwiches and fries for $10 Such a great sandwich at such a low price.

I just happened upon this place. Little hole in the wall! Rolls are fresh everyday! Excellent sandwiches and the fries honestly taste like McDs. 2 huge sandwiches and fry's for 10 bucks. They are friendly and nice people. However the parking lot is sketch as F'k. Every time I go to the VA across the street I go here.

When driving down Roosevelt road one place has caught my eye quite a few times that I never bothered to set foot in. Submarine Brothers with its somewhat gaudy sign has been passed by time and time again. One Saturday afternoon I finally took the time to stop in and give it a try. Submarine Brothers has a lot more than just subs, they have burgers, gyros, Italian beefs, basically this place is a traditional Chicago style greasy spoon that also has subs. In stopping by the imagery of a hot dog on the sign drew me in. I decided to go for a hot dog, despite the name submarine brothers there was only one lady working who both took my order and prepared the food. A few minutes later my hot dog was ready and it was time to dig in. The hot dog I received came on a somewhat dry poppy seed bun, it was skinless there was a long pickle slice and a lot of mustard. The onion was chopped up and the relish was applied quite sparingly. The sport peppers on top were good and there was two to match the length of the dog itself. This led to a fairly unbalanced overall combination of flavors. The mustard was a strong overwhelming flavor here. Overall I was unimpressed with Submarine Brothers, a longer than normal wait combined with a below average hot dog left me disappointed. If you're in the area I'd recommend skipping by this place, flashy sign or not better options exist in either direction along Roosevelt. Instead of being called submarine brothers, maybe subpar brothers would be a more appropriate name for this restaurant. Two stars for this place.

Haven't been in here in years! As a child and a teen it use to be 1 of my favorite places to get a ribeye steak sandwich from until I was able to drive and discovered Greektown! Lolbs. WHEN YOU KNOW BETTER YOU DO BETTER!!!! I came in and got my same old favorite items ribeye steak sandwich & fries. The sandwich filled my hunger at 2am. Will I go back by choice at 7pm, NO!!! (Steak quality is horrible) But happy to have had an old time fave. The 4 stars are for them being there in my time of late night hunger!!!!!

The lady at the register had a really bad attitude and the cooks give you a look as soon as you walk in

I had a corned beef sub from them and it was horrible. The corned beef was wet and slimy and nasty. I won't be returning here.

I visited Poor Boy because I was hungry, and in the mood to try something featured on their menu…read moreafter leaving a nearby park. The interest in visiting has always been there because I work nearby and ever since I tried their fries which were ordered by my coworker, I wanted to visit. Poor Boy sits along Roosevelt Rd in a high traffic area in Maywood. The parking lot itself is private with an acceptable number of parking spaces available. While pulling my vehicle into a parking space, I could not ignore the smell of the food looming in the air which built anticipation to enter. Once I entered, I stood in a line which gave me time to browse the menu as the customer ahead of me ordered. After the customer ordered, the employee took my order, giving off an enthusiastic vibe in the process. Here I was thinking that I would visit and order just fries, but nope! That changed once I saw the fish sandwich on the menu as an option. I was asked by the employee if I wanted the combo instead and I accepted! Now best believe I was not going to visit Poor Boy and not order those delicious fries that my coworker knows that I love. My order was completed in no more than 8 minutes, and I was well on my way. I opted out of dine-in, choosing to take my order to go because I did not want to be in the area long. We all know how terrible the traffic is in the area, and I had no interest in being out in it. Moreover, the restaurant appeared decently clean, and the atmosphere gave off a fast-food restaurant vibe. And inside, there were an acceptable number of tables with seats inside of the dining area. Upon getting inside of my vehicle I could not resist eating those fresh tasting fries before even driving out of the parking space, tehehe. It was a good thing that I had them in my lap eating them because they helped calm my nerves while being amongst impatient drivers along Roosevelt Rd. I swear! The elastic on my panties is wearing out from having to pull them up, just to deal with impatient drivers on the road. I must admit that food cures anything, but I do wish that the employees did not chunk extra un-bagged loose fries inside of the bag, burying my fish sandwich underneath in the process. I mean come on, sheesh! The first bite of the fish sandwich left me with a mouth full of fish, lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce! However, the first words out of my mouth after swallowing that first bite was, "Mmm, that is good!". I have to say that the fish sandwich swayed the rating I had intended on giving Poor Boy because of those loose fries. I am glad that I finally considered visiting because it would have prolonged the chance of tasting their fish sandwich. I could very well re-visit and order from Poor Boy again because it sits in an area that I frequent. Whenever that visit depends on the craving of my tastebuds at the time. Service: 4 | Ambiance: 3 1/2 | Food: 4 Recommendations: greek salad, garden salad, fish sandwich, shrimp dinner, fries. ~ Oh darling, let's be adventurers ~ Thomas G

I checked my receipt and asked another male employee, again I was dismissed. He hesitated then fiddled with the register so I thought he was going to make it right. He hesitated some more and replied "I can just tell the manager." The other employee were looking at me bewildered that I was asking about a mistake. No one else chimes in they just stared. I said I don't mind if thr price changed but they need to either change it on the menu or tell customers when ordering. When did principals become taboo to question?!
