I had an oil hot water heater and water started gushing out of it. They told me something was wrong with the water heater and it was worn, repaired it. A few months later - same water gushing. They came out and spent more time to determine that the water pressure from the city was too much for our system (normal system its just high pressure here) and that's what was causing the problems... I got a full bill for all of it. Shouldn't a fuel company that installs these water heaters know the general pressure of city water? So the initial repair was wrong...it wasn't going to fix the problem.

Sure all the techs were booked, but we could have gotten a call to "let us know" so we could have looked for another guy asap. I don't think they'd want to wait 24 hours to have anyone come to THEIR house. They should do better by their customers and follow through with promises. We're frustrated and disappointed.

First we were told to expect phone calls we never got, then emails that never came. FINALLY we managed to get an appointment to get a firm quote. My husband took the afternoon off from work and.... they didn't show. I called to find out what happened, and was informed they forgot. So the guy heads over, we tell him what we need and he emails us a quote several days later (the other companies we had look at it had quotes to us in 24 hours). Only, there is nothing about removing manganese from the water, which is what we needed. I responded asking about this, and they didn't know the answer. And how will it take to install? About a week, IF they have all the parts in stock. We will be using a more reliable company. Update: emailed CB Haskell two days ago to express our displeasure over the issues around the water system. Explained that we might be considering a new oil company too if this was an example of their customer service. No answer. No call, no email, no nothing.
