Good for me. I been using your service for more than 20 years and I am happy with the service.

We have been using Suburban for 2 year now. They are always quick to service/fill our tank. The ladies I've worked with in their customer service center are always helpful and friendly. I get there can be confusion on the different types of accounts and ways to order. Just talk with the ladies at the office and they'll happily talk you through which makes the most sense. Prices are also going up on gas but I just filled my tank this week for $.30 less than the competitors. I highly recommend them. read more

Several neighbors are about to run out of propane. They charge extra for our neighborhood and they can't keep up with demand. Temps are getting in the teens and people are running out. Two out of the last four years I've had to call in an emergency because they don't fill fast regularly enough. This week will make it three out of four years. read more

Been using Suburban for two years. First year, no problems. Good service and price was in line. Still Solid service in year 2 but their price right now is $1+ per gallon over market. I'll be leaving soon. read more

Been dealing with Suburban Propane for 20+ years. No complaints here. They are always on time and make emergency deliveries when needed. To this day i have not had any bad experiences with their customer service or with their delivery personnel. read more

Pretty bad customer service... On hold way too long, multiple phone calls that accomplished nothing, constantly wanting to up-sale, over priced, no 'window' given to show up, and extremely frustrating. I spent a week trying to get a small tank in our new home filled. Long dumb story is unnecessary... Short story is that I called Burch Propane and I'll have a new and same - size take on Friday... No up-sale and great phone customer service! Emailed me promptly after talking on the phone and after I returned the paperwork, she put me on the schedule. I guess I was just a small fish in the big sea of propane! read more

The Suburban Propane folks in the Waldorf location were supposed to stop by for service about a month and a-half-ago, so I took off work and waited all day--they never showed. But hey, they finally called and rescheduled, so yippee! Then, on the rescheduled day, I took another day off and after waiting around, they called and, "Gosh darn it, we're really busy with...rain and wind! Can we please reschedule? Oh, thank you for understanding!" No sweat--third times a charm, right? A month and-a-half since the original appointment, again, took the day off. Just to be sure they were showing, called them first thing in the morning--"Yep, you're on schedule from noon to 4." 3:45 comes up, and of course no one showed up. I called and told them how freakin disrespectful that is--three freakin times! They were offended that a customer would be pissed, placed me on hold, came back on...yep, he's running late--but no worries, he'll be there. "Thank you for your understanding." Ha! 6:30 at night--at least they called! "I'm sorry--you know, life and death emergencies 'n stuff. Can we reschedule to Monday?" Really?!! Sezs I--no freakin way. Would make the fourth time I've had to take off work--and if I I'm late or a no-call/no-show, I'm paying a no-show fee! I tell them in my polite and charming way that our business relationship has come to an end. It's a market economy. They're certainly not the most competitively priced, customer service and reliability suck, and they clearly have no respect for their customers. There are plenty of other residential propane distributors--it's really a no-brainer. Go with a different propane supplier. read more

My husband and I were recently married and I have been sifting through bills these past four months trying to get a handle on our energy costs. Suburban Propane has been our provider of liquid propane since my husband purchased our home in 2009. We have been enrolled in the budget plan with automatic filing of our tank by SP. If you own your own tank, as we do, budget plans and automatic fills are really a bad idea. You cannot negotiate prices with local propane companies in order to receive the best deal. Automatic fills mean that you may receive propane (and a bill) when you really don't need the extra fuel. Suburban has been charging us a per gallon rate that has exceeded that of local competitors by at least 30 cents/gallon. When I called to explain that we would like to be removed from the budget plan and auto fill system in order to fill only as needed and from suppliers of our choice, Suburban agreed. Not five minutes later, though, I received a return phone call from SP. We would not be able to keep an account with SP if we were going to use other propane suppliers. The cust. serv. rep. explained that there were liability issues for SP- they could not ensure that other liquid propane providers would be filling our system properly. Therefore, we either had to stay with SP or- if we decided to use them again in the future- we would have to pay a $125 safety inspection again and set up a new account. The rep. questioned, "does this make sense?" Well of course it does... SP is not interested in competing with the rates offered by their competitors. None of the other companies I spoke with follow this policy. Some required safety inspections prior to a first fill while others did not, but none insisted that you use only their company for fills. I am now waiting to see if we will receive a refund check in the mail for the credit on our SP account. I gave the company two stars b/c the office staff were always very professional and polite, even as they were explaining their company's questionable practices and policies.
