But... sometimes you're on the road with children and you hit a small town at the moment they start screaming for a bathroom and some food. The only place visible was this Wendy's location. I didn't want to, but a hangry toddler made the choice for me. Bathrooms were very clean (thank you so much!!). We decided to order at the counter since we were already inside and I cannot say enough about our clerk. She was so sweet and so patient with our 8 year old grandson as she ran through the frosty selections with him. And she continued to be as kind and patient with the two adults trying to juggle two kids, an unfamiliar menu, with additions and substitutions. She deserves a raise. Just saying. Over all the entire restaurant was clean, the rest of the staff were equally nice as they prepared our food. The food was all fresh, hot and correct. Thank you so much for making our stop a positive experience.

While we were there three different customers came in behind us, stood there for a few minutes, and then left. Once we finally got our food our order was correct and our food was good. It still was not worth the extended unnecessary wait time.

My wife and I enjoyed a delicious Spanokopita dish that was prepared perfectly. The phyllo crust was flaky and enclosed a delicious combination of cheese and spinach seasoned to perfection with traditional eastern mediterranean spices. The included fresh pita slices with homemade tzatziki sauce and greek salad rounded out a perfect dinner for us. We are going to add El-Sherif's to our list of go to places in the Cheraw area.

However, El-Sherif's brings a nice Mediterranean taste to north central South Carolina. Sure they offer some of the standard American classics but they also offer some tasty Greek and Italian specialties as well. The inside of the restaurant is set up nicely, albeit a little older but still nice. Nothing fancy. The server came around to us almost an immediately and took our drink orders and left us to go through the menu. I knew I was getting a gyro before we even got there but I substituted the fries for rice. My wife got a cheesesteak and fries. Both were delicious. I was actually quite surprised the gyro was as good as it was. The lamb just popped in your mist and the seasonings couldn't be any better. My wife's cheesesteak was probably the best I've tasted anywhere south of Maryland. What separates the cheesecakes here apart from almost every other place I've been to is that they actually season the meat. I'm quite sure that it's the same seasoning they use on the meat for the gyros but I could be wrong. Either way, it was delicious. Definitely worth a swing by if you're in Cheraw.

However there wasn't so we were able to walk right on in. There were some folks inside as well, and tables for us to sit. It's similar to most BBQ places where you order your meats by the pound. We had brisket, ribs and pulled pork. The ribs were so tender they fell off the bone. Literally just pulled the bone out. The flavors were outstanding. There was bbq sauce but truly wasn't needed, more just to enhance the flavors. The brisket was moist and tender. Seasoned to perfection. It as well needed nothing more. The pork was really good. Tender and juicy. We had a few sides but the most amazing one was the watermelon salad. With the mint, lime, cojita cheese, cucumbers, and red onions it was mind blowing. The way everything in the salad blended so well together was perfection. The Mac and cheese were just as top tier. The way the cheese pulled, the kick it had you could tell this was recipe that has been used for years. There was a bite to it and it was perfect. We also had the Mexican street corn that burst with so many flavors. And lastly we tried the hash brown casserole. It was definitely different but equally as delicious. The service was quick. The ladies that assisted us with our sides were the most friendliest. They encouraged us on the selection of sides, and shared their favorites with us. Overall one of the best BBQ I've had, definitely the best BBQ in NC.

We arrived at 9:45 on a chilly, drizzly day and there were probably 50 people in line ahead of us. There was a friendly staff member monitoring and organizing the line and she told us we were there on a 'slow' day because of the weather. After the restaurant opened at 11, we waited in line for probably another 45 minutes until we got inside to order. The brisket was great, but the best things we had were the kolaches (stuffed breakfast rolls available before they open), Cheerwine hot link sausage, and fruit crisp. The Cheerwine sausage was the biggest surprise. It had a great flavor and wasn't sweet - I've never had anything like it before. When we get a chance to go back, we'll probably skip the pulled pork and mac & cheese. They were fine but there's a lot to try and these weren't anything special.

I read the great reviews of this place online , so I had to come see for myself. It's a small brick building on the side of Andrew Jackson Hwy in Laurel Hill. Small parking lot with plenty of business. They have a small indoor dining area that is a bar top facing the windows. A couple of picnic tables outside , which is where I ate mine. I got the Double Cheeseburger with Crinkle Cut Fries and a can of Pepsi. The burger patties were nice and thick and juicy. Hot and fresh tasting with lettuce and tomato. If you want a Traditional North Carolina Slaw Burger they can do that too. The Crinkle Cut Fries were hot , fresh , and tasty. I prefer Crinkle Cut or Steak Cut Fries , so this was a plus. The employees were also nice. They have so much other food to choose from.
