This is the branch of Subway in the Publix shopping plaza at the intersection of SR 19 and 34 in Eustis. As it is fairly close to where we live and we shop for groceries nearby at times, I have been to this Subway many times. The service has never knocked my socks off, but I have never had any problems either, which is good enough for a sandwich chain. Being in a Publix strip mall, there is not much seating and not many windows, but I imagine most people would do takeout anyway.i just don't feel like I have a choice. This is my second time having this issue at this subway with, who I believe is a manager. She is a white, short, thick girl with glasses and short hair, with a forearm tattoo. The first time I went here and got food, when she saw my order she stated to me "No wonder you're a skinny little thing", as no one should make comments on someone's body. Especially as I have been recovering from not eating properly for years. I ignored that comment and continued to be nice. As I worked in food service for years. Tonight, I went there to order my partner's food. I stated what type of sandwich it was, when she asked me the first time. After she had the bread prepared she asked what I wanted on it, as I was telling her the type of cheese, she cut me off and spoke in a higher leveled tone, while raising her hands up and down "NO, what kind of sandwich is this?!?" .... as I told her a second time. She continued to be short and nasty with me until the man took over the sandwich. I became short and quick for the rest of my order. I also caught her staring at me while I was finishing and moved from her view. This is the second time she has been rude or nasty to me while I maintained my composure. I am a 24, person of color, queer and have serve ADHD and anxiety, I was reading the order from my phone. I worked in food service as a manger for 4 years, this isn't anyway to speak to people when, YOU make a mistake of not hearing a customer. I watched her treat the older person of color behind me 10 times better with a nicer tone of voice. So I want to know what the issue was when I was nice everytime from the jump. I do not feel comfortable coming back to this store. My sibling worked at subway for 4 years and I always watched them handle everything with grace, kindness and making those comfortable when ordering. Husband ordered a sandwich, requested it not be toasted but the meat be heated up. He made this request very clear and easy to understand. He was completely ignored and the whole sandwich was toasted. He ignored it and decided to just go with it, especially after the 10 minute struggle the guy before us had just trying to get the right meat he ordered. So the next person his sandwich is given to isn't any better at following directions as he asked for 1 line of sauce, she does 2 and then covers the sandwich in another sauce he didn't say he wanted! I order my sandwich, get very little meat (I didn't ask for just a little) and then I say I want a LITTLE MAYO. The woman then proceeds to literally DROWN my sandwich in mayo. At this point it was a mayo sandwich because there was more mayo then meat, cheese, or lettuce. And when I said something she was like "oh. I can take a little off." And tries to scrap a little off with a knife. Like no. At that point she needed to remake the whole sandwich! Completely ridiculous. We ordered sandwiches off the board with VERY BASIC requests that couldn't be followed and weren't followed. We refused to pay and just walked out. Would never come back. if you can't follow basic directions then working at Subway isn't the place for you. Like this isn't and wasn't a hard job or crazy requests. There was no reason that neither employee working struggled to follow basic instructions. I think our toddlers would have done better jobs. read more

No stars! This location needs to hire enough staff to be able to keep up with business or shouldn't offer mobile ordering if they can't meet the demand. Employee was very polite and apologetic about being short staffed but that didn't save the time I thought I would have available after using mobile ordering. read more
