We were on a road trip from Florida to Massachusetts, and happened to be in the area during the lunch hour. The restaurant was right off the highway and easy to get to. We whipped in and ordered a regular sub club on white. My wife and I usually split a meal, and the regular was an almost perfect size. I say almost because it was so large my wife couldn't finish her half. Fear not! I rescued the last bite, but it was almost too much for me, as well. Now, what did I discover that I loved so much? First, a young woman with a beautiful, shy smile was preparing our sandwich. She said her name was Tequila. Second, we discovered pepper relish. Tangy, with a suggestion of a minor heat. We were intrigued, but wasn't certain it would pair well with our club. Tequila saw us wavering and smiled, "why don't you get it on the side?" Brilliant! We sat and divided our sub and tasted the relish. Oh. Myyyy. I relished that tangy flavor and immediately spread it on my sandwich. And I promise we will return. I hope to see Tequila's friendly smile when we return. I don't mean to disregard the rest of the team on the line, as building the perfect sub is a team effort, and they all deserve recognition. The only thing was that the burger kept slipping out of the bun and it was very messy to eat as we kept putting the burger back together. The shawarma with chicken thigh was delicious. I would pair this with the brussels next time and you'd have a winning combination. The fries were good too, but the brussels are the winning side choice.
