My wife brought home cookout as a late night snack. Should have known this would not be good when our containers had burn holes in them. I ordered a tray with a burger and received a chicken sandwich. The chicken nuggets tasted like standard school lunch chicken nugget. So I've been here twice now. I'm not a fan yet I'm also not disappointed. I think that it's okay for the most part. I got the tray combo which was a double cheeseburger. No pickle and add tomato. It was very very messy. Like super messy. It had a lot of mustard it just was kinda soggy and an all around disaster. Flat when opened up it's just not special. It's a burger it does the job, but I don't really care for it. The frys were cold and unsalted. Not crispy either just kinda leftover frys so not a big fan. Then as for the milkshake. Love the affordability and size for price. But it isn't even a milkshake it's just ice cream in a cup. Not bad but don't bet on using your straw cause it will break haha. It will feed. I appreciate the affordability for the amount of food your getting. I forgot to mention I also got a corn dog for a side and it was good too. Not bad it was crispy and warm so it was good! But yeah. Just got done with the drive thru employee be completely rude to me for no apparent reason. I pulled up at the drive thru and put in the order for my food, the problem started when I pulled up and tried paying. I was trying to explain to the man that I was paying on two separate cards and that he needed to split the transactions, but as I was explaining he took my phone and closed the window and charged the card, and it declined. He handed the phone to me and said that the card declined and that "I need to figure it out". I was trying to explain it to him again, and he just shut the window and gave me a rude look like I did something. I understand it's cold outside, and I used to work in fast food so I get it, but rude behavior shouldn't be acceptable in any establishment, especially when unprovoked. I was so hungry one late night, and this place came to mind It was my first- so I expected something exceptional. It was late at night and both drive thru were busy. I didn't mind at all, I just needed something to eat. Actually, I was looking for salad, they didn't have salad. The only healthy food I could order was the grilled chicken. Placed my order with a side of chicken wraps. The service actually was fast. The char-grilled chicken was great, tender juicy white chicken meat. Not all great tasting food are healthy, I just want to emphasize that fact. I was satisfied filling my big belly. One thing I'd be cautious about is the char on the char-grilled food. This is not too healthy- if you eat these kinds of food char inspired cooking, it will add up and turns into carcinogen- causing cancer. Anyway- I didn't like the feeling of being rushed placing my order, it just rude. Although, I understand it could be the nature of the job as order taker especially at the drive thru. Still, you got to be very respectful and courteous. My spouse and I got to town at about 1 AM from Maryland and immediately made a bee-line to the nearest Cook Out. As far as late-night fast food joints go, I thought this was great. I got the chicken strips tray which came with three good looking white meat strips that were breaded to perfection, with white cheddar nuggets (fried cheese) and hush puppies on the side (both were yummy!). My spouse got the chicken quesadillas tray, which came with two quesadillas that are all sauced up and ready to go, with the same sides, and a chocolate shake. We really enjoyed the Cook Out dipping sauce, too. Customer service was excellent. We were very satisfied with our food. We felt like we had a fried food hangover the next day, but I'd argue that it was worth it! I will continue to eat Cook Out whenever I'm in the NC area, and would recommend this location. read more

I highly recommend this place for people who want burgers that are healthy. McDonalds was comfirmed recently that it had harmful chemicals in the burger and the wrappers and the ice in your drinks are dirty. Though Cook Out is a real, healthy burger joint. Sometimes they get our orders a bit wrong. We miss either one or two items like napkins or fries but overall the service is really nice.
