Drs sudbrink and vakkasl, i love you. after reading all the great reviews on yelp, i thought they might just be the guys to consult in about the removal of my four wisdom teeth. since i just moved here to from chicago with my husband, i was kinda dazed and confused on where to go and who to see about this surgery which i've been putting off for years. i am the baby of all babies. anything with teeth freaks me out. i am not kidding you, before this experience, i was PETRIFIED of the thought of having to be put under. we are talking bad dreams, cold sweats, mental breakdowns, sleepless nights, you name it.... i did not want these things to be out. sudbrink oral surgery was a eye opening experience for me. after booking my consultation appointment, i was put at ease about all these fears of mine involving being put under for my first surgery involving anesthesia. this office is no joke, VERY professional and dr. sudbrink is renown in his field! my husband and i both agreed that this would be the place i would go for the removal. the day of my surgery (yesterday) i was extremely nervous. i was up all night anxious and not knowing what to expect about being put under for the first time. when we arrived at the office, after filling out some paperwork, i was immediately called in to get this thing over with. this is when i really started freaking out. what was going to happen!? i looked around and all i can say is this place is very clean and sharp yet very relaxing and almost tranquil at the same time. they were going to be playing me some sort of music to calm my nerves. this was another plus in my book. i closed my eyes to try to relax. the assistant hooked me up to some heart monitor sort of thing, and she started the laughing gas. (i've never had this either) dr. sudbrink came in, reassured me everything was going to be okay. popped the needle in my arm and after that i don't remember a thing. 25 minutes later....(only 25 minutes?!) i woke up and it's like nothing ever happened. trippy. my husband surprisingly didn't try to film me like david at the dentist but i was feeling good. my mouth was numb and i was in a different world. i look back and think why was i being such a baby about this procedure? it was so simple and in my eyes the best dental surgery experience i have experienced. and i still haven't really felt any major pain. dr. sudbrink even gave my husband and i a call later on to make sure everything was going smoothly. thought this was a nice touch to his professionalism. thank you dr. sudbrink for making this such a great experience! i would highly recommend you and your staff to anyone looking for an amazing wisdom teeth removal experience! About 4 years ago Dr. Vakkas removed a mucocele from my mouth, right before I left for the beach. It was my senior week trip after graduating high school, so I was really nervous about this getting in the way of that. I still remember how Dr. Vakkas helped keep my mind at ease, and I had very little pain that quickly went away after getting to the beach! I remember that he was so kind and asked about how school was going and what I wanted to do going forward. Four years later, I clearly still have the same bad habit of biting the inside of my gums, and came back in with another one. I came in very anxious, but it was after talking to Dr. Vakkas and Patrycja that my anxiety just went away. I felt that Dr. Vakkas remembered me, and that he truly cared about hearing about how things have been since my last visit. He had a very outgoing personality, was a big supporter of my teaching career and wanted to hear more about it. I could tell that both Dr. Vakkas and Patrycja were concerned for my well being, and catered to my needs before the procedure. Through conversation, I found out that Dr. Vakkas used to live right down the street from me! What a small world. Patrycja was so funny and easy to talk to, and throughout the entire procedure, Dr. Vakkas and Patrycja continued to check up and ask if I was okay. Everything went smoothly and they worked effortlessly as a team so I was in an out with no issues and very little pain. Nothing about getting something cut out of your mouth is fun, but I have never laughed and smiled so much before and after getting stitches! I was referred to Sudbrink Oral Surgery by my dentist in Hershey, due to a reoccurring gum infection caused by my wisdom teeth. The Hershey office didn't have any openings but the Ephrata office did, which was lucky for me because the staff there made the entire process pain-free (literally and figuratively) and hassle-free for me from the outset. Dr. Vakkas was considerate and knowledgeable when helping to explain the upcoming procedure and the intricacies of the surgery. On the day of surgery, I was a bit nervous about the sedation but the other surgical staff Ashton and Patrycja were very kind and helped to assuage my worries, they made me laugh and talked with me up until the surgery began, I was very thankful to have such a great staff with me (including Dr. Vakkas who also comforted me). Afterward, I woke up and everything had already been explained to my sister and Patrycia checked on me to make sure I was okay and even called me later that day after I got home. I had 3 teeth extracted (one of which was impacted) and I felt NO PAIN AT ALL the day of surgery or afterward. I didn't need to take a single pain pill. I am on my fifth day of recovery currently and could not have been happier with my experience or the staff at Sudbrink Oral Surgery in Ephrata! I would absolutely recommend scheduling here to friends and family and if I ever need another procedure I will be sure to schedule at this office knowing that they will take great care of me. read more

My name is darryn and I went to.subrink oral sugery for four impacted wisdom teeth to be removed and my two upper were already decaying at least half way just about I went into the office early in the morning and it was only a few minutes before I was called back and they began to administer the anesthesia and not so long after I could feel myself starting to go to sleep but when I woke up they told me that it was only under 20 minutes to remove four impacted wisdom teeth it was only like two to four minutes per tooth and they came out with ease they gave me a mouthwash to help with bleeding and for antibacterial purposes they gave me hydrogel some gauze and some prescriptions to help with pain and to lessen the risk of infection but when I follow their instructions it was like a week or two and my pits were closed end I didn't even have an ounce of pain either they did a perfect professional job in a timely manner and I'm very happy that I went to them than any other oral surgeon it is among many best interests to go to Southern oral surgery for any dental surgery requirements or needs read more

I had to have one of my wisdom tooth removed so I did a quick search on Google & the Yelp page for this place came up with mostly all 5 star, glowing reviews with good reason! This place is AMAZING!!! I called on a Friday and was given an appt. for the following Tuesday! I asked the receptionist to call me if an earlier appt. became available & within 1/2 an hour, she was kind enough to call me back to let me know that an appt. for tuesday morning was available! They are, hands down, the best oral surgeons ever!! The surgery to remove my wisdom tooth was quick & nearly painless! They prescribed me pain meds but I ended up not needing them! I didn't have insurance & the price was pretty reasonable for what it was! If I ever need an oral surgery in the future, I would go back without hesitation! This office should be ashamed of their business practices. Sudbrink attempted to charge a 10-year old $390.00 out-of-pocket for an x-ray. This practice lied & said the insurance company denied the claim. The insurance company exposed their fraud by stating an approval was never requested. When they were confronted with their lies, they agreed to finally submit a request for services. Upon submittal, they sent the wrong code & no medical documentation. Shavonne the Office Manager from the Ephrata office then smugly relayed it was denied. They will go to many extents to deny a child much needed services. That says a lot about their integrity. Sudbrink's scam didn't work with this child & they labeled us "difficult". Due to their savage, shameful ways, we will take the business elsewhere. read more

Just had my first operation! All four wisdom teeth with hardly any pain! I was very nervous going in as I had never had a surgery before, however, the staff made me feel safe and comfortable! Patricia, Amanda, and Joanna gave me confidence and provided excellent and gentle medical service that is hard to come by! I can tell that the staff here isn't just in it for the paycheck. They are compassionate, caring and they fit the perfect image of what a nurse should be! The operation was quick, professional and I felt no pain when I woke up! Highly recommend Dr. Sudbrink, great oral surgeon with outstanding techniques that contribute to no infection, no dry socket, no bleeding problems, and good pain control. My 3 teenage sons all had their 4 wisdom teeth removed in the same year by Dr. Sudbrink and his team with desired outcomes of no complications. Preop and postop teaching of how to care for the patient is thorough and caring when you are lucky to meet Patrycja and Matt in the operating suite. My daughter came to see Dr Vakkas to have teeth removed for her braces. She is in the Autism Spectrum and has very high anxiety (especially when it comes to dentist) Patty and Nicky were wonderful, they made my daughter and I feel comfortable about the procedures and what was going on. Dr. Vakkas was also wonderful, especially when talking to my daughter. I was expecting drama and tears but she had no problems and I think it was due the caring and calmness of the staff! i saw dr sudbrink and later vakkas for two wisdom removals. they were so friendly, nice, reassuring, and gentle. they called me a few days later to personally check up on how I was doing. they are the nicest doctors I have been to. they really care about patients. I went both times to the first appointment of the day so there was no waiting I was in and out in maybe 45 min. My son just had all four of his wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. Vakkas. We were greeted right away and taken back within minutes. The Nurse's Matt & Jen were amazing with my son. He was very nervous and Matt started talking to him about video games and it helped so much to ease his mind. these are great oral surgeons. drs sudbrink and vakkas are better than any of the other oral surgeons i have seen. i had my jaw rebuilt by them after a bad accident and now i look normal again. they used bone and implants and rebuilt my jaw from the bottom up. no other oral surgeons were capable of doing this and the other doctors said i had to see the best... doctors sudbrink and vakkas they said. now i can go out in public again . thank you... read more
