What a beautiful setting for an event, being out in the fields as the sun was setting made the whole night feel extra special. There were so many local vendors and businesses, with plenty of wine, spirits, and other drink options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The entertainment really added to the atmosphere too. Between the DJ, dancers in their beautiful costumes, and the live drums, there was such a fun energy throughout the evening. The food was definitely a highlight. There were so many things to sample, but my personal favorites were the oysters, Ecuadorian ceviche, and the peach bruschetta. I also loved the little tacos and the pie! It was such a great way to wrap up the summer. Hallockville is absolutely beautiful, and events like this are such a fun way to experience the farm while supporting local businesses and vendors. I'd definitely recommend checking out their upcoming events if you're in the Riverhead/Long Island area!

It is very interactive and there are plenty of buttons for kids (or adults!) to push to make things move or light up. The highlight is the model circus that was handcrafted by a local man. They might not make small talk about something else, but if you have train related questions, they are excellent resources. Admission was ten dollars & included unlimited train rides. Also included was access to old train cars & a large tent containing train sets & some very cool vintage locomotives. We were the only ones in the museum at the time so the clerk who checked us in gave me son extra attention and showed him different things he could do upstairs. When we went down the touch tank, the person watching over and helping with the touch tank Milo was really awesome. The clerk upstairs was really awesome to but I don't remember her name. He took out a turtle that they have to keep at the nature center for my son to look at as a birthday surprise he was very attentive and nice to my son. We didn't get to hike the trails nearby although when I'm with my son the hiking is kind of limited. I want to come back one day to hike the trails here. We brought a cooler with some snacks, drinks along with our beach chairs and it was a very pleasant afternoon. They also have a vending machine selling water and some other items should you need. Every single staff member I dealt with was super friendly and the place is beautiful. It's a good opportunity to take some nice photos. And the "We may be right" Billy Joel tribute band made our experience even more pleasant. I haven't visited the Planetarium or the inside part of the mansion so I can't comment on that.

7/31/26 I haven't been to a laser show since I was a…read moreteenager. Now I'm a senior citizen. I get free tickets through AARP for the first show of the month and this month is The Grateful Dead. As we were guests of the band often (our friend was Brent Midland's assistant) we saw many a concert. My husband was blah about going, but really happy after. It blew my mind - and I don't do drugs. The sound system was amazing. The lasers were surprisingly good, although quite antiquated. My favorites were when you felt you were enveloped in the lasers. I was lost for an hour, in a good way. Luckily, hubby has a handicapped placard and we were able to park steps from the front door. I would have liked to have parked in the regular parking lot and walk, but that's no longer in the cards for us. The grounds are beautiful for as much as we could see in the dark.We would have loved to see the meteor shower, but that was not in the cards either.The show was from 9:30pm to 10:30pm (way past my bedtime) and over an hour away which was a complete bummer. In any case, this was a wonderful event. Join AARP if you're over 50 as the benefits are great.

I was informed that next year the museum will also house Gerson's paintings. I thought it was a world class museum and one of the best cultural options in the area. The Collection and gardens are open to the public, free of charge, every summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Saturdays and Sundays, from 1 PM to 4 PM.

The amazing thing about this place is it is where Tesla worked and lived, right here on Long Island. The history surrounding this place is really awesome and if you do any kind of research on this brilliant inventor you will find that many things you thought were invented by other's were really ideas and inventions of his. I am so happy that the people working to renovate this historical site are so dedicated and passionate about spreading the word to the public. I hope the next event here is even better than this previous one and it just keeps getting bigger and better. If you live on Long Island and especially around the Shoreham area you really need to get involved and help spread the word about this amazing historical site right in our own back yard! The two associates at the front were super helpful and patient as well, you had to sign up for a waiting list for the virtual reality and they made sure everybody got a chance. My nephew is autistic and they were really patient with him which I appreciated. The reason for the 4 star review is the fact that it was expensive for three of us and not a lot of exhibits. It was hands one which I loved but the main reason we went there was for the drones and they were broken when we got there. I am hoping to go back when the drones are available but for the price, not sure yet. The kids had a really nice time though.
