The fairways are very nice, and the greens roll the ball very well. The down side was the greens were very hard and because they were small, we had trouble on approach shots. The course has to many sand traps, and the sand was hard as a rock so you couldn't get out of them as you do with proper sand. I didn't like that nearly every hole had numerous sand traps on them, so if you didn't hit a perfect shot you were in a trap. The course needs a Ranger. Play was very slow, particularly the last 3 holes where a party of 7 drunk players were playing/partying together. That's right, a sevensome! So, I rate the Stone Ridge Golf Course a 3. The price to play gets a 5, the fairways get a 5, the greens get a 3, the traps get a 0, the lack of a Ranger nets a 0, and the experience gets a 0 because of the drunken sevensome. Will I play Stone Ridge again? No, there are to many nicer places to play.

Paid $55.00 to play on a Sunday morning in August. Carts are AWFUL! Carts are OLD! There'a a really nice course in my area that is A) an all around better course B) has new electric carts with GPS installed and C) cheaper! I could almost justify paying $55.00 if they offered the customer a nice cart that they'll be spending the next four plus hours in on a Saturday/Sunday morning/afternoon. No shields! No console to put accessories in. Hell, I thought all carts had USB charging ports in them nowadays. Not at Green Hills! When I made a comment about the amount I was being charged and how I felt about the condition of their golf carts they provide, I was told there are several courses in either direction to choose from. Gee..thanks! Many times, my group of friends I play with, will choose not to play there for that reason. If they don't care, why should we? This course isn't struggling..by any means. Just upgrade your product your providing to the customer.

Our tee time was for a foursome at 0852am, and someone scheduled two additional 4-man teams at 0852am. A twosome teed off in front of us. Around hole 7, the ranger told us multiple times to pick up our pace of play because the people behind us were complaining. I told him our pace of play was normal and even showed him the current time compared to our tee off time. He didn't much like what I had to say and proceeded to rudely argue that there was nobody for two holes in front of us. I then explained to him that it was a twosome in front of us, which would explain why they were playing faster. On the 10th hole one of our balls went 3 ft into someone's yard. I stepped over the knee-high rope and retrieved the ball and we continued playing. Before we could finish the hole, the ranger approached us again and aggressively stated, " You guys keep f*cking up and I'm going to have to kick you out of here." Apparently, the lady who owns the yard complained because I retrieved our ball. I apologized for "trespassing" to the ranger. He again stated "This is the third time I Have had to talk to you guys for f*cking up. I might have to kick you off the course." I again made my case for pace of play and explained the people behind us were welcome to play through if they just asked. The ranger proceeded to follow us around watching us for the remainder of the day. Our total time for 18 holes with a break at the turn was about 3 hours and 45 minutes. We were not being rowdy and blasting music or driving the carts like race cars. Just a plain casual round of golf. I spoke with the owner after we were done, and he apologized for the behavior from his ranger and did agree that our pace was normal. It was not an enjoyable day being rushed around the golf course and cursed at by the ranger. They could have at least offered us a discount if we returned for another round. Do better Riverby Hills.

We went on a Saturday morning, and that was the pricing, so I consider that a deal for a Saturday morning. THis course wraps around an older (60's-70's) neighborhood. Some of the houses are pretty close, so if you're not a solid golfer (as my teenage son tends to be), you may hit a yard or house. The fairways could use some watering, but the greens were above average.
