Yum! My family hits up Broad Ave on the regular (Broadway Pizza is a forever fave) and on our most recent visit we were hanging out with the crowd when one of the kids asked if we could walk down for ice cream. Ended up we had a small group go and another wave followed! All were thrilled with the flavors they chose. Appreciate the unique flavors but some of our groups went for the more familiar. I LOVED the two sorbet scoops I had -- dragonfruit & hurricane (citrus flavors) -- so much I didn't even pause for a photo.

Sugar Ghost is adorable inside--seriously, the vibe is so cute and perfect for pics. The service is always great, super friendly and quick. I'm obsessed with their soft serve, especially with the churro on top--it's such a good combo! Their boba tea is also a fave, and the boba tea floats? Game changer. One of my go-to spots when I'm craving something sweet and fun.

We always love sugar ghost! New pistachio flavor I'd fantastic, especially once you start getting the nut pieces! It's a great service that they'll put your desired flavor in pints if it's not already an option. The folks are always nice and the vibe is so nice there whenever we go. Love the mural as well.

My visit to Sugar Ghost was all a fun coincidence! I was in town visiting a friend and she just happened to follow the sugar ghost instagram and they run a fun special where if it's your name for that day you get a scoop of ice cream (so follow them on social media to see if your name will pop up!)! Funnily it happened to be my name that single day I was in town so we went to get ice cream! I got the lavender honey scoop and it was a nice light flavor, not too sweet but not tasteless. It was a nice balance! The service was great and the staff was super fun, I asked them how many people came in with my name that day and he said not as many as he thought there would be because some days it's a lot of people. The shop itself is pretty small but super cute, I would say very picturesque and definitely a nice place to chat with friends or have a cute solo date!

Sugar Ghost is the cutest ice cream parlor in the University area. The two staff members are super friendly. Free samples! The flavors won't disappoint--they're very sweet and true to the flavor profile. My favorite are the Ube and Mud Island as the latter is generously loaded with peanut butter cup, pretzels and pecans. Hands down my favorite spot in the area.

We stopped in for a treat and were pleasantly surprised by how cute the inside is! The decor is pink and so so cute. We got a scoop of the ube and mud island! Both were delicious and something that we will come back to have again! The staff were friendly and quick, even with a crowd of people all rolling in. I can't wait to visit again!

It was excellent. Super cute and fun spot with sweet servers who are very helpful and knowledgeable on the menu items. The drink was great. We didn't try any food but we will be back for more bobas

This was such a cute place for a sweet treat. The designs on the inside are creative and the ice cream flavors are delicious. I got two scopes on a cone. The service was quick as well.

This feels like the local favorite's frequent for Ice Cream and Boba! The vibes are definitely fun, with the ghost decor in the back and the bright, colorful decor. The service was a tad slow when I went, but in all fairness only two people were working that night so they get leeway. Their servings for Boba in their milk teas are definitely more generous than what I'm used to back at home. Their Ice Cream has a really nice smooth and creamy texture while accentuating the flavors well. We tried the Ube and the Nana' Puddin' flavors and they were both excellent! The Ube was creamy, dense with the sweet potato-like flavor and the color is beautiful. The Nana' Puddin' was also really enjoyable having that banana custard mixed throughout the Ice Cream with whole chunks of softened banana throughout. The Nilla wafers mixed in also somehow stayed crunchy in the ice cream, very welcome addition! The taro Milk Tea had an unexpectedly dense Taro flavor. Again, dense sweet potato like flavor and the boba had a really great chew to it. The honey and brown sugar sweetness for the boba was balanced well without being too sweet. Overall, Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the Memphis area. Great Ice Cream & arguably even better Boba.

I waffled on a 3 vs. 4 for more than a week before finally deciding on a 4 -- I think my own crabbiness and frustration with my own mistakes is coloring my view a bit unfairly, so I'll round up and give this place the benefit of the doubt. I saw this place on Broad, knew we'd be in the area, and pretty much demanded that we stop so I could try some boba and ice cream -- two of my favorite treats in one spot! Parking is rough, as others described, but my husband just drove the car around in circles while I went in alone to grab my items to go. We came on a Sunday evening while in town to better see the eclipse. Despite the threat of a pretty gnarly storm, they were crazy busy. I was upset to see so many people ahead of me in line when I'd hoped to get in and get out quickly. Still, I was committed. The line moved at an average to somewhat slow pace, but the workers were doing their best -- having worked at an ice cream shop in the past, it's not their fault when multiple guests insist on trying a million different flavors, lol. The shop itself is very cute. The pink color scheme and the spooky theme lends itself to adorable selfie and aesthetic picture-taking opportunities. Wish I'd had more time to look around and take photos. Still, super cute idea and execution. Since the line was moving somewhat slowly and I was in a big rush to get out of there to try to beat the storm and also so my husband wouldn't have to keep circling the block, I thought I'd be clever and order online so perhaps my treats would be ready by the time I got to the front. Ordering online was pretty simple and I was able to make my selection and modifications and pay over the phone. But when I got to the front of the line...they didn't have my order. The staff were very polite and tried hard to find it, but it wasn't there. I felt like a pit opened up in my stomach. They asked to see my receipt/email clarification, but I didn't remember which email the receipt went to and I was in such a huge hurry/didn't want to hold the line up signing in and out of 3 different email accounts that I told them to just forget it and make my order new. So here's what actually happened: there are two Sugar Ghost locations, and I placed an online order for the one in Germantown, and not the one on Broad. Now this is 10000% my fault. BUT, this is a mistake I've made a few times with places that offer online ordering at more than one location. While I realize it's my responsibility to get the location right, I do think it would be nice to have some sort of flashier signaling so that the person ordering doesn't accidentally order for a different location. Be it location tracking or a pop-up to make sure you're certain about where you're ordering...it would help. Basically, I wound up getting the same order (different ice cream flavor since they didn't have the flavor I ordered at Germantown at the location on Broad), but I had to pay for it twice. Frustrating, even though it's my bad. Honestly, maybe the staff would've made it up to me if I'd found the confirmation email; I can't know because I was in such a hurry I didn't bother. But I can't hold what they didn't get a chance to do against them, so on to the actual product! (For what it's worth, I was impressed by their bubbly and polite demeanor even in the face of my grouchiness. I don't think I was rude/mean, but I'm sorry for being sour, y'all -- it wasn't your fault!) Anyway. I got a small brown sugar milk tea with boba and a single scoop of the Mud Island ice cream and then I rushed back out to my car in the pouring rain. Traffic was bad heading back to our hotel so I had plenty of time to eat in the car, haha. The brown sugar milk tea was fine. Like many other reviewers have noted, it is certainly quite sweet -- but I was expecting that. I liked the milk and brown sugar flavors. The boba had a nice chewy texture but a slightly floral taste that didn't go with the drink, imo. Don't really know what that was but I enjoyed it okay. The Mud Island ice cream...hm. The ice cream itself was very smooth and creamy and rich and had a nice chocolate flavor, a bit like chocolate pudding. However, the description made it sound like it had a ton of goodies in it (pretzels, caramel, chocolate chips, pecans, Reese's cups, etc) and I think I got maybe two bites with small soggy pretzel pieces in it and that was it. I was looking forward to all the "treasures" in the ice cream and I never found them. Still, the "body" of the scoop was good. Like I said, really not sure how to rate this place, so I'm erring on the side of generosity because it's not fair to hold my frustration at own mistakes against them. Perhaps I'll return the next time I'm in Memphis and I'll have a bit better luck with my ordering process.

Overall: a top place for ice cream in Memphis with its top banana pudding ice cream and an assortment of asian flavors! Inside: lots of space to sit, lots of lighting and overall spacious! Food: bubble tea is definitely the top in the area as well as their Ube ice cream and nanners ice cream. The waffle cone was kind of brittle though and with two scoops of ice cream in it, the cone cracked a-lot. Service: A Thursday Night and although there were lots of people the staff was quick and friendly.

I thought appropriate being it was so hot outside. I definitely could have been fine with one scoop but I got two. Beach Day had so many flavors in it and the two scoops in a waffle bowl was plenty. Beach Day consisted of salted vanilla flavored ice cream with milk chocolate flavored caramel-filled sea turtles, frosting flecks and swirls of graham cracker sand. It looked good and was delicious. I don't eat a lot of sweets or sugary foods so by the second scoop the sweetness and sugar overload kicked in and I had to have help to finish it. This was definitely a treat. I enjoyed it.

A prime location for a prime steakhouse. The service was strong as was the pacing. I found the server a bit too eager to explain the restaurant and the menu. I'm a ribeye eater so I had a pretty good idea I was getting a ribeye before I went in. I think the talking is used as a way to upsell and push guests towards opaquely priced off-menu "specials" which from my understanding are always on offer (such as their deviled eggs and bone marrow sauce). We started with the beef tartare and duck ravioli. I preferred the tartare, which had a nice spicy seasoning throughout. The duck ravioli had an excellent sauce on it, too. For our mains, I got the prime boneless ribeye ($68) and my brother got the prime strip ($56). We also shared the Yume A5 Wagyu experience ($225), letting us try three different cuts of Wagyu side by side. For sides (about $15/each), we did the fontina potatoes, truffle honey tots, and carrots. We also added the gulf prawns ($21), foie gras ($14), and bone marrow sauce (~$20) which was prepared table side and was plenty to share. It was very rich and peppery, though a bit of a salt bomb. For dessert, we shared the French toast bread pudding with maple butter ($14) which is one of my favorite bread puddings I've tried. They also brought my brother a dessert since it was his birthday, it was something like a raspberry mousse with coconut foam and a sharp raspberry sauce. Excellent. The Yume experience was a big motivation in coming here, as getting to try cuts of A5 Wagyu next to cuts of regular (albeit prime) beef is unique in the Memphis area and really for hours around. It was priced as an experience rather than a food item. It did not disappoint, nor did the prime steaks. The A5 is so unbelievably tender by comparison. My favorite was the ribeye, but I'm biased. My brother, normally a strip guy, agreed with me there. The potato sides were underwhelming, particularly for the price. I don't know how I let my brother talk me into buying him $15 tater tots for his birthday. I could get the carrots again, though. My total was $800 for the two of us for the above food, six cocktails, and tax and tip. A big chunk of that was the Yume experience as well as the drinks (we were celebrating!). If we were to go back, it would be closer to $350 for the two of us, and I would go for the prime ribeye with foie gras again, no need for Wagyu or sauce. I enjoy the sister restaurants in this restaurant group (Coastal Fish, Flight, Southern Social) and frankly I'd bet Porch is the cash cow of the group due to the relatively poor value proposition. We had a great experience exploring the finest steak and accompaniments one could wish for. But, for my money, Coastal does a pretty good steak too.
