So so good!! Atmosphere and food spot on. Nothing but good things to say. Lucky to have this spot in our neighborhood:)

I came here with a friend this week. We ordered the dip, strawberry panzanella salad, devil eggs and the short ribs. The strawberry salad was hands down the best! The chips and dip was a top second. Both were flavorful! Our waiter was so kind, helpful and attentive. The restaurant has a nice ambiance which makes it a good choice for a girls night out, work meetings or even a date night spot. Will definitely be back when I come to town!

Everything was so so yummy at Fawn! We got the chip and dip situation and the fried artichoke as apps and both were delicious. The black cod, market fish, was sooo delicious. I hope it stay on the menu because it was so tasty! Vibes were great, service was 10/10 and the cocktails were on point! Will definitely be coming back.

Excellent service, cozy atmosphere, clean bathrooms and friendly staff! This place is the new kid on the block, but they aren't shy about dishing out delicious food, drinks, and a menu that's sure to have you using Google for definitions and pictures! The menu is not your typical small plate and tapas menu and honestly it's an exciting menu with ingredients that you won't find in many ( if any) restaurants here in this city! I mean maybe a few, but who else uses hot pot dust? Ash was our server for the evening, Ash was attentive, described the dishes well, recommended some favorites and was very happy to assist us in choosing which dishes to order. We ordered from the bites menu: chips and dip situation and cashew cheese. Everyone liked the chips and dip, but weren't a fan of the cashew cheese. I preferred the cashew cheese and crackers ( minus the onion) better than the chips and dip, but that's why they are small bites; everyone gets a taste. From the protein department two orders of chicken thighs. The two that ordered left nothing, they could have put the dishes back in the cabinet because the plates were cleaned lol! From the produce section we ordered the strawberry panzanella and OMG! That salad was soo good, I am not sure if a salad dressing was used but if so it was so light and refreshing. We all agreed if the salad had no dressing it didn't need it anyway. It was the perfect blend of mint, strawberry, cheese, basil.. order the salad y'all! Dessert was the strawberry crisp with ice cream. It came out hot and delicious with a buttery crust that was just perfect! We really enjoyed our meals and experience tonight ( 5/31/25) great use of space as well! Parking situation...street parking and the lot next to Fawn is pay to park. Go see Ash!!!

First day it opened and I was there and it did not disappoint. Their wine selections were great. We started with the beef tartar and it was delicious, I wish the crostinis were not as hard as they were. Made eating it cleanly very difficult. The lentil dubu jorium was delicious, for sure a small plate and not a full meal. It was so worth it though. Lastly has the pork belly and mussels and it was amazing. Those pickled Hungarian peppers completed the entire meal. Will be back to try the other dishes and cocktails. Service was quick and easy, the place looked beautiful too. A few touches missed from painting, but easy to miss.

The food is wonderful. We are visiting the week after they opene, and unfortunately they ran out of half the items we wanted by 8:30pm. The drink service was slow. It is a noisy space, it's just the way it was designed. For those with noise-based sensory issues, I recommend earplugs. The food... is beauty and flavor and experimentation and vegetal and lovely. I hope they get their bar organized with premade cocktail mixes, as the specialty cocktails take too long and bog down the bar. We really loved the mussels with pork belly, and the chicken thigh was cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend the strawberry salad, it actually fed four of us, while the cheese plate was one four inch square piece of brie. When we return I hope they have the bread and butter in stock!

We chose to go to Fawn this weekend for Sunday brunch. The interior is very hip looking and relaxed. I love the old Hollywood style banquettes. Our server was August. He was very attentive and friendly, but most of all, very knowledgeable of the menu. We opened with some drinks from the bar and were immediately wowed. I adore coffee and fancy coffee drinks, and the Crenshaw senior class is delicious and very impressive. My friend really enjoyed her grilled peach bellini, as well. For food, our table enjoyed the chicken Caesar Schnitzel (a kale salad with chicken), the Sverrina, and the shrimp special, which was described as lemongrass shrimp served bahn mi style. The descriptions did not adequately describe the dishes we got, but we enjoyed all of them. The food was "almost " en pointe, but there were a few surprises- the chicken Caesar Schnitzel really is just an upside down kale salad with chicken, the shrimp special was served on a soft roll that had been grilled lightly, instead of crispy French bread, and the Sverrina beef resembles an undercooked hamburger patty more than it does "beef tartare". My husband loved the fat slices of bacon that came with that dish. Despite all of this, It was an enjoyable meal and we would return. However, I should point out that I almost walked out even before we were ever seated because of the very unfriendly and inattentive hostess. I'm guessing she has never worked in the hospitality industry before, and hopefully will not last there long.

My friend and I had a great time. Our server, Shannon I think? Was super kind and accommodating. And everyone who brought us food was nice, too. We got the deviled eggs, soup, gnocchi, and duck. Everything was super yummy, especially that gnocchi. Oh, I also got the pear cocktail and pear dessert. Both were 10/10. Cool restaurant, nice art. Great place!

My friend and I stopped by a few weeks ago. The drinks were so different and delicious! Our server had great recommendations. The fried artichoke and strawberry salad were my top favorites. I was not a big fan of the squid ink pasta.. However, we enjoyed all of the fun cocktails and appetizers.

Great atmosphere. Best beef tartare/carpaccio I've had in Memphis this year. Drew was our bartender. Drinks were delicious and the conversation was even better. We will be back!

Amazing meal and service! We went to brunch on Sunday. The hostess was a delight! We were seated immediately and loved our waiter, August. The Korean pancake was the table's favorite! The craft cocktails were wonderful! No problems anywhere, we even spilled a drink and the staff was so very nice! I can't wait to try dinner!!

This place used to be public bistro. It's in a great location and the decor and ambiance is nice so I'm glad someone else was able to take over and rebrand. The menu is more exotic with options such as octopus and rabbit. I wasn't feeling that adventurous so I stuck with the short rib and chicken. I'm not a fan of blueberries and I didn't really understand why it needed to be in the dish, but overall the rib was very good. The chicken was good as well. The ice cream on the crisp was chef's kiss. Service was great . Overall, it was a good dining experience. The food options are not for me but I'd like to come back during happy hour and try the cocktails.

She carried this review up to the 3 I'm giving Non-Vintage. First of all, there was a severe deficiency of seating and staff for this event. No one greeted us when we entered, we moved chairs ourselves to make an accommodating space out of the way of the performers, and at no point did a member of staff take our order outside of waiting at the bar. The line for the bar was right in the way of the performers, and many people were forced to wait 10+ minutes for a drink order because there was only one bartender working. Another staff member had offered to help, and the bartender DECLINED, forcing us to continue to wait. I did try the wings and the charcuterie, they were good. I tried the nonalcoholic hibiscus drink and the nonalcoholic summer cooler drink. The summer cooler was much better in my opinion, but both were good nonalcoholic options. I think I would like to try this place when they are not hosting an event, I'm sure it's lovely when they are staffed appropriately for the shift. However, I was sorely disappointed tonight being forced to wait nearly an hour at the bar, missing parts of the show and on my feet for just a drink.

I had a fantastic espresso martini and the best brussel sprouts I've ever tasted! So I was excited to come try something else. On the plus side, the bathroom was so nicely decorated. It was also very clean. I sat at the end of the bar, beside the little section of books. The bartender was nice. I ordered the Ember&Passion cocktail. Although it was pretty good, it was quite mild. Unexpected with the ingredients in it. I was surprised that the level of expected heat was not very detectable. I give it 7/10. When I came here before in the winter, the temperature was perfect and I don't remember being too bothered that they don't have cocktail napkins. But yesterday it was quite warm in the restaurant and not having these napkins wasn't good. Nobody in the restaurant had any type of napkin under any drink! I noticed that just like mine, every glass of water from every patron had a puddle of condensation under the glass. Each time I picked up my glass of water, it would drip onto my food and clothes. My two menus got so wet. I suppose they made this decision to save themselves a lot of money. As for the food: My parmesan truffle fries were excellent!! Hot, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked in the middle. Best I've had in a long time. The Alabama white sauce on the side was just your typical sauce. It tasted just like every other Alabama white sauce that I've had so was not disappointing. But I actually ended up not using it because it was too thin and it didn't add anything to the fries. The fries were excellent enough on their own. I ordered my burger "pink" but there wasn't any pink to it, but I wasn't that bothered about it. Burger and the toppings were tasty, except for the fried green tomato. Looking closely at the picture, you can see that it was SO SMALL compared to the size of the burger. When a restaurant does that, don't they realize that it makes for a glaring disappointment?! It apparently came from near the end of the tomato, and not the middle. If you are going to offer a fried green tomato on a burger, then I feel as if you should only use the larger slices of the tomato, and save the smaller ends for maybe putting in salads. I've always been obsessed with fried green tomatoes. After having my first two bites of burger and still not reaching the tomato, I took it off to eat by itself. Sadly, it tasted terrible! I was surprised. Obviously, they didn't season the tomato or the batter. (Salt and pepper go a long way.) The burger toppings apparently made the tomato batter not only soggy, but also this strange thick texture. Like mushy and chewy at the same time. 1/10 Worst problem: FLIES!!! So many flies! When I just had my drink but no food yet, I noticed them but was not bombarded by them at that point. It wasn't until my food came. All of a sudden I was literally surrounded by them. They were everywhere! No exaggeration. I actually had to use only one hand to eat and the other hand to constantly move back and forth over my food. I eventually gave up and set the plate of some of my fries about 4 inches in front of my burger in order to hopefully draw the flies to the fries so that I could eat my burger. Unfortunately, after only four bites of my burger, when I set it down to take a drink of water, a fly landed on it within one second. Obviously, that was my last bite, and even when I was moving the plate closer to the end of the counter, two more flies landed on it. The glass of straws was inches from me. That, and the book closest to me seemed to be where they gathered to wait for their opportunity to dive bomb me. So many of them! It turned my stomach when I realized that I had been drinking from a straw with my water and I'm sure there had been flies on it before I got there. Every person that gets a straw in their drink at this restaurant has had a fly sitting on top of it. When the bartender told me about the desserts, it turned my stomach to think of just how many flies were in the kitchen. Had I known the fly situation was that bad when I first got my drink, I would have never stayed there, and I certainly would have never ordered food. I do think it is a real shame because the winter months are a totally different experience in that restaurant. But because of how horrible it was this time, I just can't ever come back.

Five stars simply aren't enough. This deserves twenty…read more My husband and I are food people. We travel extensively, we eat everywhere, and we've been fortunate enough to have some truly extraordinary dining experiences over the years. So when I say that Porch & Parlor may be one of the best overall restaurant experiences we've ever had, that is not something I say lightly. And it started before we even made it through the front door. The restaurant itself is absolutely charming from the outside -- whitewashed brick, Southern, understated and beautiful. But before either of us could even reach for the door handle, a gentleman appeared with the warmest smile and opened it for us. Such a tiny thing, perhaps, but it immediately set the tone for the entire evening: You are our guest, and we are delighted you're here. Inside, three lovely attendants greeted us at the front, all smiles and genuine Southern hospitality. We had reservations and were seated immediately in the most gorgeous, moody dining room. Elegant lighting, beautiful raised paneling, rich finishes -- classic steakhouse without feeling stuffy or predictable. As a miniature artist, I spent an embarrassing amount of time mentally figuring out how I could recreate those fabulous light fixtures in miniature. And then came Wade. For years -- and I mean years -- my husband and I have had a benchmark for exceptional service: a wonderful gentleman named Seth in Birmingham who was exceptional at what he did that we still talk about him. Well, Seth... you finally have competition. Wade is an absolute gem. Charming, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and incredibly intuitive, he possesses that rare ability to actually read a table. He listened. He remembered. He made recommendations without ever making us feel "sold." He helped my husband choose a bourbon, shared little tidbits and stories with us, picked up on our personalities and genuinely connected with us. And the timing of this meal was impeccable. We never once felt rushed, yet we never found ourselves wondering where the next course was. Nothing arrived too quickly. Nothing lingered too long. Wade was there exactly when we wanted him and somehow invisible when we didn't need him. The entire evening just moved along smooth as silk. That kind of service is an art, and Wade has it. Of course, none of that would matter if the food didn't deliver. It absolutely did. The steaks were phenomenal, the meal was incredible from beginning to end, and oddly enough, that fabulous bacon rack may be one of the things we talk about forever. It's delicious, ridiculous, memorable and exactly the sort of thing you want to order when you're out having a wonderful evening. By the end, we were far too full for dessert -- which naturally meant we ordered dessert. My husband knew exactly what he wanted. I was torn between two choices, so finally I told Wade, "Go into the kitchen, choose your favorite and surprise me. I don't even want to know what it is. I'll find out when I get back to the hotel." The man understood the assignment. He chose the cheesecake, and good heavens. It was lighter than a cloud, with these gorgeous cherries in a rich syrup whose tartness cut through the creamy cheesecake beautifully, alongside vanilla ice cream that somehow pulled the entire thing together. I opened that box back at the hotel and knew immediately that Wade had once again made exactly the right call. But what really makes Porch & Parlor remarkable is that Wade wasn't the exception. Every single person we encountered -- from the gentleman at the door, to the front desk, to everyone who touched our table -- was gracious, polished, welcoming and genuinely lovely. You can serve an extraordinary steak in a beautiful room and have a great restaurant. But when the hospitality is every bit as exceptional as the food, you create an experience. Porch & Parlor did exactly that. We were told this was considered one of the very best steakhouses in Tennessee. After dining there, I completely understand why. In fact, forget Tennessee. This is one of the best steakhouse experiences we've had anywhere. And Wade, if you happen to read this: Seth held that title for a very long time, young man. You earned this one. Five stars feels woefully inadequate. Give them twenty.

One of the highlights of the visit was an unexpected surprise from our waiter, who brought us a sample of their avocado ice cream. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was creamy, smooth, and surprisingly delicious. It was a thoughtful gesture that added to an already great dining experience. The only disappointment? They no longer offer the flight sampler. I was genuinely sad to see it gone because it was one of my favorite ways to experience several menu items in one visit. Overall, Babalu continues to deliver excellent food, attentive service, and outstanding drinks. Even with the flight no longer available, it's still one of my top recommendations in Memphis. 5/5 Stars - Consistent quality, excellent hospitality, and a place I'll gladly keep returning to.
