Nang Gai Tod (Deep Fried chicken skin)
    Allan L.

Came here on a Monday for their happy hour that happens from 5pm to 6pm everyday where everything in the menu is 50% off. I am surprised this place wasn't more crowded since this was such a great deal and the food and drinks are great. Round 1: We started with the Nang Gai Tod (Deep Fried chicken skin) and Beek Gai Tod (deep fried chicken wings) both comes with a very tasty tamarind sauce. Oh my, the chicken skin was so tasty and it was freshly fried. The wings were super juicy and simple which went very well with the dipping sauce. We also ordered 2 Cocktails: Drink number one is the Bass'd which is essentially a Thai ice tea spiked with Hennessy which went very well together. Drink number two is the sugar mule which is basically a Moscow mule with lemon grass and kaffir lime leaves which was very refreshing. Both drinks were great and I would recommend. Then we had the Moo Manao (grilled pork jowl) and I must say this was the highlight of the show. It was one of thier specials and I'm a fan if pork jowl. The porkjowl was so tender, nice and fatty. It is seasoned very well and has a grilled smoky taste. It was on a bed of shredded cabbage and drizzled with some sort of sour dressing that paired with the fat very well. This dish I highly recommend! Then we had the Khao Mun Gai Tod (fried chicken with fragrant rice). It was good and very similar to most Thai resturants fried chicken over rice dish with a sweet and sour dip sauce. Round 2 Since the first round of food was so good we decided to try a couple more appetizers and drink. We got the Nham Si-Khrong Moo Tod (deep fried pork ribs) which came with a lot of ribs. They were cut into small pieces and deep fried and came with a wedge of cabbage. I think this dish was a bit dry but will probably pair well with beer. We also got the Kang Kiew + Roti (green curry with thai pancake). The roti was very flaky and may have been deep dried. The curry sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste, kind of like a dessert. For Drink number three we ordered Jam On It (gin, lemon, elderflower, rasbery Jam, and rosemary. This one was very fragrant. The server was very attentive and service was fast. She was the only server and was manning the bar at the same time so kudos to her.

What a hot spot!! With two floors, balcony, multiple bars, seating and places to dance?! It was such a great bar. I loved my drink, although poured quite light, can't not love a purple bevvy! They had great music and ambiance, will definitely be going back to sugar hill!

Great food and service! They have a dog friendly patio on the upper level. I'd definitely recommend coming for their happy hour where the whole menu is 50% off. I really liked the fresh rolls, tofu pillows, and pad Thai. They do have vegan options and other modifications for dietary concerns. It was a lovely sunny patio so I'd definitely want to sit there again even if I wasn't with my dog.

We came to Sugar Hill at 5:15 on a Friday to enjoy the Happy Hour and we had an amazing experience. I was able to try 3 drinks: - Soul Plane - Jam On It - French Montana The Soul Plane and Jam On It were awesome. I did not like the French Montana. For food: - Tua Khak (Green Beans) - Giew Poo (crab and cream cheese wontons)... REALLY GOOD - Pad Thai (with Chicken), heat 3 out of 5 All of the food was great. The heat 3 out of 5 was pretty hot for sure, but I probably won't go down to a 2 next time. This was an awesome deal and we will definitely be back.

Maria greeted us right away she was very nice and friendly, we got sat right away. We ordered a lot of different dishes, everything was good, had good flavors, sweet , savory , spicy, sour, it was really good. Restaurant was nice intimate vibrant and clean, we were in a room full of vinyl, they had good music in the background that our whole party was vibing to all night. Definitely would recommend

Absolute wonderful time and service. WOW to the Pear Margarita slushie. Pad Thai and Pad See Ew are incredible. Get spice 3 . Sit on the patio and hopefully you have Kenny and Chad serving for a wonderful evening.

I can never say enough good things about Sugar Hill. We come here for almost all of our birthdays, as they accommodate large groups easily. The food is so good in my opinion. Plenty of gluten free options, including my favorite, Khao Tom Gai. It's a soup filled with chicken, rice, ginger, and more, and it's absolutely incredible. For only $13, I'm always full. Their cocktail selection is outstanding as well. The Jam on It is my personal favorite, and I wish more restaurants served a gimlet this delicious. See you soon, Sugar Hill!

We had a reservation on a Saturday night but it wasn't necessary. Our party of five was given the option to sit upstairs or downstairs. There was more space upstairs so we opted for that. Our server/bartender, Kenny, took great care of us, was knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations. This was the best pad Thai I've ever had. The portion was large and I was frustrated that I couldn't finish it all. I ordered mine with chicken and a level 3 of spice- your server will be able to explain this to you. I enjoy spicy food and it was perfect. I also had a watermelon margarita, which is one of their seasonal drinks. It was fine but I wouldn't order it again. Our table shared an order of chicken wings (not pictured). The wings were a bit salty but were perfectly crispy.

FOOD WAS BUSS DOWN. (almost) no crumb left behind

Food: delicious. Service: amazing. Ambiance: love it. Great place!!!! Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in town :)

I was here at the end of August and it's a place that I wish that I had in my backyard to go to every week! I stuck with my usual Pad Thai with tofu, but was so torn by all the other options. The flavors/spice level were right on and it was hard to stop eating when I was full off the generous portion. I went with one of the bottled beers and it paired really nicely with my food. The vibe of Sugar Hill is edgy, moody, and retro. It's hard to say if the music or the food is what had me dancing in my chair. The bartender was running the place and service was great!

I've ordered from Door Dash several times and ate in for the first time last night. Wasn't what I was expecting when we first walked in, but it was an interesting vibe. They were playing some great music. Now the food, wow! I knew their Pad Thai was good. Tried it with duck this time and it was even better!! Also got the duck curry which was delicious, pineapple fried rice (served in a pineapple!), and Kao Soi. I wouldn't order the Kao Soi again. It had too much spice for me, even asking for it with least amount possible. It also had a strong lemongrass flavor, which I didn't care for. Hubby loved the crab rangoons ( real crab) and the fried chicken skins. Cocktails were really good. Service was good. They do add 20% auto gratuity though. We ran up a pretty large tab for 2 people, but we had lots of leftovers. I will definitely be getting the pad Thai here again. Might just be the best I've tried in Seattle!

From the outside, we noticed the restaurant takes up a good amount of space in the building. Once we arrived, there were several people waiting to be seated. We added our name and number to the list. It was about a 10-to-12-minute wait for our party of 2. Throughout the restaurant, the lighting is dim and suited for night life. Once we were seated, we were given the menus. We ordered the Grilled Calamari, Uncle Odds Flank Red Curry Wild Betel Leave with Sticky Rice, Battered Chicken Red Curry, and Durian Tiramisu. The food came out at a respectable amount of time. The Grilled Calamari was an enticing appetizer off the menu based off how big it was. However, we were a bit disappointed once it arrived at the table. It was much smaller. It was still good regardless. Once our main entrees arrived, we were also a bit surprised by the lack of vegetables there were in the curry. Even though the menu states exactly what was in each of the curry dishes, we were still just shocked and questioning why that was. We both enjoyed the curries anyways. I wouldn't order the Battered Chicken Red Curry again only because the batter of the chicken was getting soaked the longer it sat in the curry and became a bit mushy. The texture was throwing me off. It was very filling as there were lots of chicken compared to the other curry we had which was a much smaller portion of protein. Lastly, the Durian Tiramisu was amazing! Definitely the star of the show for us. If you don't like durian, it won't be for you. For the durian lovers, this is a must have!

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we were looking forward to the bold flavors we've come to love. The visit started off a bit oddly. The front desk server, Tar, asked to see my wife's ID--even though she's 36 years old and we weren't seated in the bar area. It felt inconsistent, especially since younger guests nearby weren't asked, and it's something we've never experienced at their other locations. Unfortunately, moments like that made us feel singled out, and honestly it sometimes feels like they tend to pick on Asians, whether intentional or not. That feeling alone made the experience uncomfortable and will likely make this our last visit to this location. That said, the table service was excellent. Moo took great care of us, and Cece from the bar was attentive and kept our water filled throughout the meal. Unfortunately, there were a few moments that took away from the experience. While I was taking photos of our dishes, a young staff member alongside Tar appeared to be giggling and mocking me, which made things uncomfortable. It may not have been intentional, but it didn't feel professional and only added to the awkward atmosphere we already felt. Food-wise, there were some inconsistencies. The chicken didn't taste as good as we remember, and several plates had visible fingerprints, which was off-putting. The galvanized metal plates also gave off a slightly unrefined feel--more like cafeteria-style serving ware. Additionally, the sticky rice, which is usually presented in a traditional bamboo basket, was served in a Ziploc bag, which felt like a downgrade in presentation. On a positive note, the papaya salad and pad Thai were still very good and delivered the flavors we expect. We'll continue supporting Isarn, but we'll likely return to the Kirkland or Lynnwood locations next time. Sadly, after this experience, this Queen Anne visit will probably be our last.
