My experience with this company has been negative. I have used them to maintain my generator which has incuded an oil change. A few months after their maintenance, the generator crashed and showed a message which said an oil pressure issue. My warranty company came to check the issue and discovered the engine had excessive oil. The next day I called Sugar Land Electric to notify them of the problem of too much oil. They said "nope" not them. They could come out and check, but most likely there would be a fee. read more

I highly recommend Sugar Land Electric - we had some truly slimy electricians come out to quote to run a line from our circuit breaker box. Worse were the way some tried to scare us in to way more work. We had one guy quote as much as $10k more claiming we need all sorts of other work done. He spoke to my wife and made her feel like if we didn't go with them we could get our lights shut off by the city. It spooked my wife, but Sugar Land Electric was professional 100% of the time weather talking to my wife or me. Great company and they did great work! read more

My home exterior outlets shorted out in a heavy rain and Sugar Land Electric diagnosed and solved the problem (by replacing the faulty outlet and installing weather proof boxes on two sets of outlets) all in one hour. I called for an appointment on 12/17/18 and their electrical representative, Rick Kuhn, arrived at the agreed upon time the following day. I learned that Rick has been working as an electrician for over 38 years. It showed in the way he handled the job. He even answered all my many questions as he was doing the work. This is one of the best companies you will ever find. They are honest and their prices are very fair. They did our entire house rewire and we would use them again in a heartbeat. I only trust and use this company for all my electrical problems. Been using them for 5 years for both my house and business. Honest and fair. First time, I had them fix my attic fan. Tech didn't know too much about it so he called and went and got blades, which he replaced. But that didn't work so when I called and another guy came out, I was told first tech didn't do the right work. He placed an order for a brand new fan and came back few days later to replace it. When I asked how much, he said I paid enough the first time and said no money owed. I was shocked and asked "you sure? You wouldn't get in trouble with the boss? " he laughed and said"I'm the boss." Kudos to Sugar Land Electric I just can not tell you how impressed I am with Sugar Land Electric. I was first introduced to them about a year ago when my wife and I needed an electrical inspection for foster care. Dave who turned out to be the owner of the company and master electrician, came out to do our inspection and while he was here I decided to ask him to do a couple last minute projects. He happily obliged and installed a dedicated outlet and breaker for my compressor and welder. Then he installed a gfci outlet on an exterior wall so I could install landscape lighting. Finally, he installed a timer switch and cleaned up the wiring for my front porch lighting so that they all would come on at the same time with one switch. A few months later I decided to call On SLE again about installing some extra lighting in my garage. Once again Dave stopped by to discuss my project and provided several great ideas. While he was happy to do the work for me, also suggested that I was more than capable of handling the project myself and described in detail how to do it properly. Like he said, I was able to buy the materials and do the work myself in an afternoon. I now have plenty of light and a few bucks still in my pocket. This month we we decided to install a hot tub. The hot tub company gave me a quote to have their electrician install the power and I immediately called on SLE to validate the price. Yet again Dave called me and said he would swing by to take a look. He called me later that day and gave me a quote that was a little cheaper than the original quote, but we also discussed future expansion and he suggested while we were at that we consider installing a sub panel with additional capability just Incase we ever installed a pool, outdoor kitchen or some other structure requiring power. So for a few bucks more I was now prepared for just about any future project I could think of. The next day the SLE dig crew showed up and got to work. They trenched the yard laid the cable, replaced the dirt/sod and cleaned up. The following day when the tub was to be delivered another electrician showed up and worked with the hot tub crew to get the tub cabled up and powered on. Everything went off with out a hitch and with out me being there. All of this leads up today when I decide to move the tub to a different location and realized the power cable was now to short. I made a quick call to SLE asking to be put on their schedule for next week. To my surprise they just had a guy finish a job near by and was able to send him to me right away. I had an electrician at my house within 45 min! Talk about service, or luck, or maybe a little of both, but I am continually impressed by these guys. They price hourly and it is very expensive. If the job ends at 11:00, writing the bill takes 15 minutes and after 11:15 the calculation switches to 11:30. It is the company policy. Be careful about taking note about the time when they start. read more

Apparently no free estimates exists !!!!!! - what about the hundreds of other companies that do? Conveniently however they include it their job and charge you for the time. I called for a estimate on changing light fixture and backyard lighting and they sent an electrician out for that pretty promptly. He only his hourly charges for the job but conveniently ignores the fact that it starts from the time he start getting his tools out which could be getting a tape out for measurement and to the time his truck is closed again - so imagine all he could do in between is counted in the job time. Clearly he thinks we are idiots - he completes 95% of the changing the light [less than an hour and only thing left is cleaning up] and asks what other jobs I was looking to get done while deliberately hiding the fact all this time discussing the other job is included in his work time. After discussing other jobs I was looking to get done, he quotes me 1.5 hours and tell those are the rules which pretty much mean from the time his tools are out to the time are in and it does not matter if even chats, drinks or anything in between. I called their office and asked about the same and was told there is no such thing as a free estimate. I should have gone with other company who were straight out told me the rate and time [45-60 min] and better ratings and discount but unfortunately they could not send anyone out for atleast another week. They were going to charge me about 75$ less than this company. Be careful of their hidden tactics to cheat you of more money rather than being upfront and charging a higher hourly fee which I would gladly pay provided know before hand rather than trying to cheat in this manner. Look at thousands of other of electrical providers who provide free estimates - but according to them there is no free estimate. Even look at home advisor and they are rated by 24 reviews and it says "free quote" on there. Bottom line - no one like feeling cheated and cheap tactics. There are plenty others I would look at. NO point discussing before hand as I had clearly asked for an estimate but they use their tactics to get more out of you by time wasting rather than through the job. read more
