I thought it's Monday maybe the staff is running late this morning. I waited another 10 minutes and I tried again. The second time I tried I looked through the glass door. The place was completely empty, it looked like it had been empty for months. What kind of medical practice would just pull up stakes and move? There was no furniture, there was nothing. The doctor moved and no one bothered to inform me. That was so unprofessional. The patient's time is just as valuable as the doctor's time. I had taken the day off to attend the appointment. Luckily I found a new physician that I'm sure will suit me a lot better. See this doctor if you want to be treated like you don't matter. Otherwise find a more compassionate physician. This is the reason you should avoid this practice. I was charged $25.00 because I didn't show up for the appointment. Well you can't show up, if you don't know the office has moved. If you visit this practice, you've been warned.

I did call other diabetes specialists in the area but nobody else can take me in ASAP. The front desk lady was very courteous and nice. Mind you, I don't care how good of reviews I see on Yelp or Google but if my first phone call is received by a rude person, there's no way they're getting my business! Yes, that how important front desk people's personalities MATTER in the medical business too! I like the automated text and email reminders they send. I y'all are like me, hustling all day, any bit of reminding does HELP! It's my 2nd appointment with Dr. Libu Varughese today and it's yet another pleasant experience. I had to ask him to change my Metformin dosage since I'm not really liking the ginormous size of the tablets I'm taking plus I don't feel like it's really doing it's job of lowering my sugar down significantly in the morning (I take 2 of these beasts at night). He's not one to jump to giving you insulin. I like that he's on the conservative side of giving prescriptions. And he also gives you the option to try other medications as well, especially those that insurance WILL cover. Today, we're trying on a new one and he gave me 3 free packs (3 weeks worth) of this new medication. And although the tablets are again HUGE, at least there's not 2 of those that I need to chug each day!! I'm scheduled to go back and check with him again in 3 months. We shall see how this new medication works!

Signing in This whole thing where you have to go to another office and pay. Not sure why her office keeps the windows closed, you have no clue how to ask questions or when will you be called. Talk about "Keeping your doors closed" Test and more tests and some more She keeps getting more tests done every time you see her, but cannot seem to be able to find what the problem is. We have probably spent hundreds of dollars on these tests and cannot say for certain what the problem is. Her response - Let's get more test done. To me, it just seems like a way for the HMC to make money as most people just go downstairs and get those tests done. Final nail Last time her office called my wife to come in urgently saying - do come by 2.30pm or we will have to reschedule you. My wife gets off at 2 and rushed to see her. Guess what she is not even seen until 3.30pm, sitting there hungry and all. The doctor comes in saying - all is fine with you. Then why would your office send a message to come in to see you urgently. No one had a clue!!! Also, they keep saying we have not met our deductible when because of all the tests were done in their office our deductible should have been met. All in all, not a good experience.

She develops a plan going forward with medication and sends you off for bloodwork. Two weeks later her office calls with a change in medication due to lab work results. When asked to be able to speak with her....well....good luck with that. I have used patient portal to send her a message regarding prescriptions. She will send the script to pharmacy who doesn't immediately communicate the new prescription. Dr sends me a response three weeks later. She flunks with regard to effective communication. Her staff? Unfriendly and lacking warmth. They hide behind the glass window and seem annoyed if they have to open it.

My insurance changed in January 2019 and Methodist does not accept my insurance. I wasn't concerned because I thought, I'll just pay cash when I need to see her. I need a surgery clearance and made my appointment. When I got there, they wanted my insurance card. I told them that they don't take my insurance, I'll pay cash. They told me that I could not be seen. They claimed it was a legal issue. I doubt this as I think it's an agreement between Methodist and their insurance providers. Had I said that I had no insurance and would pay cash, I would have been seen. So, my doctor for the last five years, cannot see me. This is total BS and I will never go to a Methodist hospital or their affiliated doctors again.

Dr. Laursen is very sweet, very professional and makes you feel very comfortable especially when you want to discuss things that you wouldn't even share with your own mother. Rather than literally writing me off with a prescription to send me my way, she will thoroughly explain my diagnosis and treatment. And when some health issues extend beyond a PCP's care, I trust her list of recommended specialists - which have all been equally positive experiences. Her all-female staff are so wonderfully personable, pleasant and always cheerful. Always. I've NEVER had to wait more than 10 minutes and they've always been able to squeeze me in at the very last minute. Just keep note that they're only open on the mornings on Friday. I also go here for my annual women's wellness exam rather than a gynecologist (usually free with insurance). Whether it's a bad cold or my private bits, I always trust Dr. Laursen's professional medical opinion.
