However, I chose to go a different salon, as getting cut while getting my nails professional done is a huge deal-breaker for me.. Cut to years later, a couple of my friends were raving to me about their nail lady Theresa who happened to run this salon.. Yesterday, I could not drive all the way to Buckhead to get my nails done, I decided to give TNails another chance.. The older tech who did my pedi was sweet and courteous. The mani one; a young girl.. I noticed she was applying way too much nail polish on the nails that she cut way short.. globs of polish.. as I moved my hand, one nail touched my other hand while switching hands for her. She gave me this look fit for a 5-year-old who was seriously misbehaving. I said, "sorry".. again, she glares at me, and proceeds to try to fix it without just redoing it.. I asked to redo it. She kept telling me,"you needed it up".. In the midst of this, I notice my pinky had a little nick, which I pointed out. She FLIPPED! I asked her not to do my nails and to just stop. She kept mouthing off, walked off, got herself a tangerine and proceeded to peel it and eat it at the work station right across from me. The older lady that did my pedi, came over and kept apologizing for her and insisted on doing my nails. There were two other patrons at salon, they were both horrified at what just went down. Too much for some pampering and "me-timing".. I did not get the advertised 10% discount on all services.. I did not get to unwind. Paid in full and I did tip 20% and left aggravated!!! The salon is well designed and welcoming. I was offered a drink while being seated which is always a nice touch. While I prefer to use my pedicure time to respond to emails, catch up on any news I may have missed, etc. I think it's always important for you and your tech to (at minimum) make introductions, with the tech checking in on preferred nail shape, sensitivities, etc...maybe 5 minutes max of "getting acquainted" conversation. The extent of our exchange was which pedicure I wanted and that was pretty much it. Not necessarily a bad thing all the time, but on this occasion it presented more sales/transactional vs. valued customer. I started writing my review mid service, assigning a three star experience at the beginning; however, the young lady at checkout was kind, conversational, and attentive, which encouraged the bump in stars from three to four. I haven't been to any of the nail shops in the area and I chose this establishment due to their hours. They stayed open longer than some of the other nail shops around. I was nervous about the removal process but it wasn't too bad. The nail technician seemed confident about what he was doing and proactively asked me if the removal was hurting. My nails weren't put in acetone. My technician used a fake nail to go under and the sides of my nail and removed them that way, after clipping the long part of the fake nail off. My nail was then smoothed out lightly using the drill and a quick buff and I washed my hands. The cost was $10.

I have been seeing Dyana since I was 13 years old. I'm 26 now, and I will be seeing her for the…read morerest of my life. She is the most incredible nail artist I have ever encountered. To say Dyana is a master of her craft is an understatement. Despite my refusal to ever give my nails a break from being polished, my nails remain healthy, strong, and long. I can go for at least a month in between seeing her, and not a single one of my nails will have chipped or broken. They always remain in perfect condition - perfectly shaped, long, and just generally flawless. She transformed my eyebrows from being nearly non-existent to being full and beautifully shaped. The two compliments I receive most often when in public are: "your nails are so cute!" and "you have amazing eyebrows!", both of which are entirely her doing. When I went to college in Tennessee, I would travel back to Georgia once a month just to see Dyana. And it was worth the three hour drive. Every single time. Now I live ITP, and I still drive to see Dyana any time I need my nails or brows done and I always will. Not only is she an incredible nail technician, but she is also an incredible human and a joy to get to spend an hour with. She is kind and patient (and boy oh boy has she needed to be patient with me during my reckless teenage years when I was breaking my nails and plucking my eyebrows into oblivion) and so much fun to get to chat with. Every time I go into the salon, I walk in feeling disheveled and overwhelmed by the stress of work and life, and I walk out feeling calm and beautiful. TLDR: Book an appointment with Dyana. You won't regret it. She's amazing.
