    Open bonfire pit

I m guessing its a big time hit during snow time coz its cozy. Wooden interiors n exteriors make it look n feel very cozy only if the staff was equally cozy n friendly. Nothing bad but no smiles and non welcoming approach make no customer service. Loved the bonfire, selective choice of drinks n snacks . Maple syrup n some clothing for purchase is available. There are board games to play n dining seating as well as counter seating to sit. Huge wood storage at the back of the shack from where u can purchase fire wood. Too bad that i didnt try any food . Next time for sure but its a must stop to experience something or just to stretch ur legs. Signs on both side of road would be visible from far off

Great stop on the way to Williams Lake direction. Ambiance is great, and you got to chat with the owner, he will tell you all about the products they have in the store and the maple sugar is a must buy item! reat service! Food is nothing fancy but you got to order the pulled pork poutine! It is delicious!

Excellent food and hospitality. The coffee with maple syrup and cream was perfection. The gravy for the poutine was so delicious and you could actually see the peppercorns in the gravy. The decor is beautiful and rustic. This place is a real gem in the Caribou!

Randomly dropped in here during a road trip and so glad we stopped in here. Super nice people running the place, and the smoked meat poutine is out of this world! Fabulous portions at reasonable prices.

I love the Sugar Shack! It has good food and a the space itself is lovely. I always make sure to stop there when I'm driving through 70 Mile House. I usually get a Montreal smoked meat sandwich and a coffee with maple syrup. While I've never had the poutine, it's been recommended to me many times.

The famous poutine! Without montreal smoked meat this time - and this is true gravy and REAL cheese curds! Quality here is A+

Whenever I'm heading up north to visit family, I ALWAYS. always always stop here for poutine and a maple sweetened coffee! The owner is so passionate about his food, and he's always very accommodating if you're in the mood to buy maple products. And the poutine with the montreal smoked me? I swear to god, it's best poutine I've ever had: and I've had a lot of poutine. I've even told friends to drive up north just to have this stuff. Love the place! Definitely stop in - it's nice when you've been on the road for a long time and would rather not hit up all the generic fast food joints.

It is welcoming and cozy, great for a date night, the patio area just off to the side is really well set up with hanging garden lights to create an outdoor garden experience. Service is prompt and our server was really nice! What we ordered: Crab cake with side salad - generous sized crab cake is mostly crab meat and just enough fillers to hold it together. Tangy dressing on the salad. Smoked beet salad was delicious with a hint of smoke flavour and toasted sunflower seed, pumpkin and sesame seeds add to the overall taste and textures. Mains: Cioppino was very fresh with a tomato based fish broth had a wide variety of seafood- shrimp, squid, mussels, salmon, scallops and fennel, carrots, potatoes and onions, served with grilled sourdough. Very well done! Breaded red snapper was a generous piece of fish pan fried and topped with romesco sauce, served over risotto. This was also served with green beans and carrots. Thinly sliced pickled green beans added a bit of tangy crunch. Everything was prepared with care and cooked perfectly! We might have to come back on our way home! Yum!

And, you can't stop there without buying at LEAST three kinds of their signature fruit pies. My "go to's" are (of course) apple, blueberry and strawberry-rhubarb. Sinfully delicious; every one of them. During the Holidays, the pumpkin pies literally fly off the massive counters, so get 'em when you can. Their pillowy-soft loaves of fresh-baked bread are also a mandatory thing. Sourdough or cinnamon-raisin are my favorites. We also picked up a couple of their great deli sandwiches; made with ingredients from their gardens and bakery. I chose the Country Club, which is a grilled turkey, bacon and Swiss cheese on potato bread. Outstanding! The bread is thick-cut and buttery, crispy. They don't shirk on the ingredients. Plenty of meat-and-cheese-to-bread going on. However, make sure and clear up some mad cash because prices are a bit premium. But the quality and abundance of what they offer is completely worth it - especially when you're only passing by once a year. ....and a long year in between it is....
