From the moment we pulled in I knew I had found something special and a place we would come back to for years to come. Tim ( the host for the park) is friendly and helpful, and takes great pride in keeping it beautiful and orderly. He lent us an extension cord as the electrical hookups are fairly far away. The park was quiet and lovely. There were lots of friendly people, and it felt like a little community. It was very close to town which was really convenient. We travel in a 36 foot toy hauler with a one ton truck, and I do think that we were pushing it to try to get into some of the spots. Because we had not booked early ( we called the morning of) we had to move spots, and it was the hardest spot we have ever had to get into. Not the parks fault at all, our trailer was just a bit big. Both my husband and I really wished that we were traveling in a sprinter van. That would have been so easy. Lake Mendota is lovely and relaxing, and this is a special spot.

They popped up in my Google search for places near where we were. The owner was super helpful and was also mindful of making sure our last minute check in was contactless to maintain social distancing. The lake is closed right now due to Covid, but it looks lovely. The campground is clean and well maintained, plus every spot has a nice picnic table and a fire pit. We only needed a one night stop over, but it's now definitely on our list to come back to and spend more time there--especially once everything is able to open back up again. Our 8 year old was sad we had to leave! Thank you for a pleasant stay and a wonderful experience!

Park doesn't really open until April 15th-ish and now we realize it's mostly due in part to avoiding black and grey tanks from freezing... ect. Check out the restaurant 2 Brothers great food and owners. I'd definitely come back but as a monthly guest having to conserve water constantly is challenging but I am a trooper.

When we addressed this with the owner the next day he was extremely rude and I felt physically threatened by his demeanor. They did not offer us an alternate site or refund. Avoid this place if you want a family atmosphere.
