There were Food Trucks Galore there but Sugar Yummy Mama stole my heart after no other trucks sounded good and I had to get my hands on one of those Mini Cupcakes! The flavors of these Minis can not be any more true to flavor with what cupcake you decided on. Combinations such as Wow! Guava- Naughty Nutella- Lovely Lemon- Black Tie- Coco Loco are just a few of the flavors she sells! These little delightful one bite... maybe two bite cupcakes aren't cheap at $2.95 per mini but I can tell you they are definitely worth EVERY penny!! The moist cake, the perfect amount of soft frosting, the filled center, and the burst of flavor is mouthwatering stuff! Although I have only tried two different of Sugar Yummy Mamas stunning cupcakes, I can not wait to get my hands on more! Say hello to the newest dessert truck in Miami! I had the opportunity to try Sugar Yummy Mama the other day and I must say I am a fan! I tried and loved their cake balls! although they look like lollipops, their filling is absolutely soft and full of sweetness! I bought red velvet, coconut and vanilla cake balls and all were equally delicious! I also tried the red velvet cupcake. It had a hard white chocolate glaze, and underneath the hard shell was a soft vanilla frosting, it honestly blew my mind! The frosting underneath was like marshmallow, seriously soft! The sweets are also reasonably priced. I bought 2 cupcakes and 4 cake balls for about $13. Another plus? they accept credit cards! I've had the pleasure of trying several treats from this food truck (err, food van?). The owner is very friendly, and will happily recite all of the options available. I've had a coconut cupcake, which was quite good and not overwhelmingly sweet... but the real stars are her cake pops. I've had both the coconut and cinnabon flavors, and they were both great, but the cinnabon is especially delicious. I made the mistake of saving one of the cake pops for about 3-4 weeks in my drawer at work... lesson learned, don't save cake! Especially one that's homemade... no preservatives! That's a good thing... I just wasn't thinking when I bit into it ;) I was more mad at myself for letting a perfectly delicious pop go to waste in the name of "saving" it. read more

I try and order from Sugar Yummy Mama every time I see them. This truck has become a very consistent favorite of mine. I've ordered: - Maple bacon cupcake: I had this cupcake this past weekend, and I was actually not a huge fan of it. This is the only item from Sugar Yummy Mama that I wasn't too fond of. The frosting was real good, in fact, my cousin was raving about it. For some reason though the bacon bits on the frosting and maple flavored cupcake didn't do it for me. It wasn't a bad cupcake just not as good as other things I've eaten from the truck. I would rate it a 3 out of 5. -Fried red velvet cupcake with ice cream: The cupcake was so airy and light. I've never been a cupcake (or cake) fan, but that's just because I've never actually had a good cupcake. Publix doesn't measure up. I admit that I do prefer heavy, filling foods but this cupcake was awesome. I look forward to eating this one again! - Red velvet shake: Also real good. I've ordered this twice because it's so good. I believe that there is an actual cupcake blended into the shake. It tastes amazing. The shake is heavier and thicker, which is more to my preference. I was introduced to Sugar Yummy Mama thanks to a Guava Cake-Pop given to me by Lena C. at this month's ArtWalk food truck gathering. She is like your typical crack pusher in that sense with these, your first one is free. While I was impressed with the Guava Cake-Pop, I have to say that my second go around with the Velvet Cake-Pop was what really blew my mind. One bite and all I could think was 'where has this Cake-Pop been all my life?' I am a self-proclaimed connoisseur of Red Velvet cakes, cupcakes, and so forth, I do have to say that this little Cake-Pop has lodged itself a place in my Red Velvet heart. In our continue cupcake quest, we went to Wynwood on Saturday nite - Food Truck - to check out the yummy stuff from this food truck! We had seen them at other venues but have not had a chance to try them out. So glad we did give it a try now: 1) Guava Cupcake - Regular size cupcake - it was a delicious piece of cake filled with guava flavor. i really enjoyed the frosting as well. 2) Dulce De Leche Cupcake - Regular size cupcake - this was amazing too! frosting was finger lickin good!! 3) BUT THE BEST - I HAVE TO AGREE W/NATASHA A REVIEW WAS THAT DARN - CAKE POP!!! we got our hands on the last Oreo Cake Pop - it was for our daughter so we had to initially wait to try it out...... boy it was so worth the wait!!! it was delicious! Owner was really nice and helpful, but the cupcake wasn't out of this world. I had the bacon cupcake in an effort to be a little adventureous, and it apparently backfired on me. Even the ball n' chain who adores anything bacon was -eh- about it. I feel like it was a little dry and not sweet enough. Then again, I am a step away from being on an insulin drip because of the amount of sugar I like in my sweets, so maybe I'm not the best judge for this type of thing! Next time I'll just stick to something more traditional. Simpler is most times better. read more

Yummy in my Tummy! I absolutely LOVED Sugar Yummy Mama! Her flavors are delicious!!! I was convinced in one night to buy $20 worth of dessert from Yummy Mama. But, it really doesn't take that much to persuade me when speaking in sweets. I can't wait to go back and try some more of her POPS! I tried the Guava cupcake and as it was VERY good, it was also VERY sweet-- I couldn't even finish it. The POPS on the other hand are a perfect size, sweetness, and flavor. I had the special of the week which was the Carrot Cake Pop, the Red Velvet Pop, and the Brownie Pops. My bf and I spent $20 on a variety of sweets from this truck . The cupcakes are visually appealing and they taste just as good. The crack pie was AMAZING. The cake pops are also delicious. I had a cupcake that tasted like banana bread it was very good. The owner was very pleasant. The only down side is that it is a tad expensive $3.50 per cup cake. Had the opportunity to try some cake pops after reading the wonderful reviews. I got the royal oreo cake pop and the guava cake pop. First off, my impressions where that they would be a normal sized cake pop since they were $2.75 but they were a bit smaller than expected making them a little pricey in my opinion. Now for the tasting, I was surprised the oreo cake pop was not the typical rich chocolate cake. Once I bit into, it looked like a chocolate chip cake so it did not taste very oreo-y to me. However, the cake itself was very moist and not extremely sweet like other cake pops are. It still had the cake texture and was not extremely mushy from too much frosting. It was the perfect balance and texture I really enjoyed it but wished there was a strong oreo taste to it. read more

Now whenever I find the cute little pink truck my mouth just waters! I tried Sugar Yummy for the first time over a year ago at an event. These guys definitely pioneered with gourmet cupcakes in Miami. And I thank you for that. It seems like the menu is constantly changing, and I've had a hard time deciding because there are many interesting options. OMG! Went to Truckers Out West, saw this truck, and made a beeline as soon as I saw Guava cupcakes were available!!! SO GOOD!!!! I'm not usually a fan of frosting on ANYTHING, but this cream cheese frosting was just enough and was REALLY GOOD with the guava cake. The girl at the truck (I'm assuming the owner, as she was the only one there) was SUPER nice and friendly...the only reason I'm not giving the 5th star is because a cupcake was over $3, and while it was REALLY GOOD, I think $3 and change is a little much to charge for ONE cupcake of that size. Found this awesome cupcake & cakepop place today at the Food Trucks at Art Park, which happens every Mondays on Hollywood Blvd. I ordered their special cupcake of the day: the pinky bacon if I can recall correctly. One bite and my mouth was in heaven! It was a chocolate cupcake with pieces of bacon baked inside topped with a maple frosting. It sounds like a weird combo but it was delicious & moist. The cake pops at Sugar Yummy Mama are just absolutely superb. Once you have the lovely Giselle's cake pops no other cake pop will come close. My two favorites are the cinnamon and the guava. They will change your world. They also have an amazing dessert called sticky lips. If you are lucky enough to buy some before she runs out, you will be very pleased. Satisfy your sweet tooth quickly and and with style. Sugar Yummy Mama's has some wonderful options, from different flavors of cake pops, to cupcakes and gooey bars of magic. Been back a few times and still haven't tried everything! The woman working the truck is super friendly and helpful if you aren't quite sure what to get though. A friend went with the oreo cake pop and LOVED it, while I went with the the white chocolate toffee pop. A tiny ball of chocolate cake on a stick, dipped in white chocolate and rolled in bits of toffee. It was decent, but I definitely thought the oreo was better. Also tried the maple bacon cupcake which tasted almost like a very light and not too sweet chocolate cupcake, the frosting was delicious too, and the bits of caramelized bacon added a fantastic crunch. Yummy! Another item worth getting is a brown sugar and oatmeal rectangle that was absolutely incredible! It may have been a bit messy, but it was SO worth it! The only downfall were the cookies which just weren't anything special. Otherwise, this is a must stop spot, and the desserts (esp. the cake pops) make the perfect small finish with a big flavor impact! read more

I attended the RiverWalk Boat Show Night Out and had the opportunity to taste Sugar Yummy Moma's cupcakes. We decided to take a Velveteen + Choco-Choco cupcake for dessert. I was impressed by the truck, the assorment offered and the bubbly personality of the woman in the truck! Fabulous marketing ideas and the cupcakes + pops looked spectaular. Now, my tastebuds may be a little on the high-end gourmet side but I wasn't impressed with the cupcakes. Both flavors were dry. They seemed to be a little lacking in bold flavor. Both frostings were buttercream delicious but spoiled by the cup cake itself. My friend and I had seen Sugar Yummy Mama at a few food truck events, and were really excited to try them. We ordered a vanilla cupcake, a toffee cake pop, an Oreo cake pop, and a banana cake pop. We were really disappointed. The cupcake tasted like a stale grocery store cupcake - the icing tasted like it came out of a tub - and we were expecting something more from scratch. The cake pops were awful! They were way too sweet and the texture was that of pre-chewed food. Unfortunately, we had bought these items on our way out of the event with the plan of eating them later that night, so we were unable to ask for our money back.
