The Porky Korean - Bulgogi with tangy cabbage, Korean salad

If you haven't been to Porky Korean, stop what you're doing, grab your car keys, and go. Right now…read more This place is that good. First off, it's locally owned, spotless, and the kind of clean where you look around and think, "Wow... my kitchen could never." Second, the food? Unreal. We ordered the bulgogi and the galbi, and honestly I'm still thinking about them like an ex I can't get over. The meat was perfectly marinated, tender, and cooked like someone in the kitchen has sworn a lifelong oath to flavor. The seasoning? Perfect. The texture? Perfect. The portion? Generous enough that I considered hiding some from my husband. And don't get me started on the kimchi. Tangy, spicy, crunchy, delicious. The banchan all tasted fresh and legit, not like the sad little afterthoughts you get at some places. Everything arrived hot, gorgeous, and smelling so good that we didn't even pretend to wait before digging in. Zero regrets. Bottom line: Porky Korean is a gem in Idaho Falls. Go support them, go eat everything, and go back again the next day. You'll thank me later.

Daeji Bulgogi is absolute perfection in flavor and portions! The kimchi is the best I've ever had, and the kimchi fried rice? Life doesn't get any better than this! The owners & staff are super nice people too. The Daeji Bulgogi is so good I almost don't want to try anything else, and I'm one that rarely orders the same thing. I look forward to trying their sandwiches soon!

The Quessabirria looked amazing but only tasted of grease which dripped freely all over everything. The carne asada burrito was ok. The meat didn't really stand out and it only tasted of beans, lettuce and sour cream. The two things that were good were the two pork taco options. The pork carnitas had the most amazing texture I've ever been lucky to try. It was moist and crunchy from the flat top. It is definitely worth giving this meat choice a try in anything they have. The true star though was the Adobada tacos. They were amazing. There was tons of meat with so much flavor. These were the best Adobada I've ever had anywhere. I think the highs were very high but the lows were just as low. They have decent salsas but if you can't take a good bit of heat you won't be able to handle even the weakest one. Definitely worth checking out.

The habanero was nice but my favorite was the red salsa that was Smokey and hot. The menu was very simple and it was quick to order. If you do come around lunch time expect to wait a bit as it gets very busy around then.

We found Yoi Mi on Yelp and decided to double-check with the front desk host at our RV resort. She…read moresaid she and her husband go there for date night every week, so that sealed the deal. This is a hibachi steakhouse, but don't expect the show. They cook everything in the back and bring it out to your table. It's tucked into a tiny strip mall, and honestly, we drove right past it the first time. The outside isn't much to look at, kind of a "blink and you'll miss it" vibe, but don't let that fool you. Inside is simple: some booths, some tables, and a cool sign on the wall with koi fish artwork and the name of the restaurant. It's low-key, but they're super friendly. We were greeted right away, drink orders taken fast, and our food came out quickly after that. I ordered a salad (not included with the meal but worth adding), and we got noodles as a shared side. They brought those out first like an appetizer. The yum-yum sauce was great, definitely not the bottled kind. I had the filet and shrimp hibachi dinner, which came with rice and vegetables. My husband had the filet dinner. Everything was cooked perfectly. The shrimp had a nice, light teriyaki flavor, and the steak was tender and flavorful. Dinner came to around $66 plus tip for both of us, really fair pricing for the quality. Bottom line: it's a hole-in-the-wall that knows what it's doing. If you're passing through Idaho Falls and craving hibachi without the tableside flair, this place is worth a stop. We'd absolutely go back.

JUST WOW........Would have given 10 stars if the system allowed it!!!…read more We were staying in the area and came here because it had the highest rated score for sushi on Yelp and let me tell you....it did NOT disappoint!!! Coming from California to visit in the area, we didn't have very high hopes for this place considering it's 12 hours to the nearest coast! Seafood in the middle of Idaho come on!! Not to mention the prices were so cheap I couldn't believe it! Heck there is Gas station sushi in Cali that cost more.... When we first walked in we were greeted by the nicest staff! VERY attentive and constantly keeping our glasses full, with the sushi continually coming to the table throughout the visit! There was an older gentleman who, I think was the owner, that visited our table maybe 4 times to ask if everything was ok and do whatever he could to make our visit memorable! Probably the BEST wait staff of any place we ate at in Idaho Falls!!! The building itself was nicely done matching any sushi place in California. Pretty good size and there were a lot of people eating here, but the service was so good they made their jobs look easy! Now onto the food...There really isn't anything I can say to convince you to visit except that EVERYTHING was AMAZING. My group had about 10 different rolls as well as appetizer choices and nigiri and I must say, ALL of it was better than the places back home!!! This place would be dangerous if we lived here, because I believe we would spend a good portion of my check here EVERY week!!! Rolls that stood out...DO NOT eat here without having a Snow Drop roll, holy cow that might be the best roll I've ever had at any sushi bar!!! The Dancing Eel roll was tremendous as well! The sauce that came on that sucker would be worth paying for enough to take a bath in, if you happen to be rich enough to afford it! Even the cheaper rolls that many places use as filler rolls were superbly elevated to a higher level! Also don't miss the deep fried rice topped with spicy tuna appetizer, it was phenomenal!!! We had two of those!!! Anyway in the end, both the staff and the food was AMAZING!! Who would have thought sushi in Idaho?!?! You have raised the bar above on ANY Cali similar restaurant. DO NOT MISS this place!!!! We will definitely be eating here again before we leave!! We will come back here again and again as you should toooooo!! I will post pictures after our next visit later in the week....
