I was actually at another business near this location when I saw "Spudnuts" on the front of this business and had to find out what they were. Who knew they made donuts out of mashed potatoes?? Not me. I had to try them. I ordered a plain glazed, a fritter and two powdered..one filled with raspberry and the other filled with Hershey mouse. They were ALL delicious! The filled donuts were some of the best I have ever had. The prices were very reasonable as well. Also, just FYI I came in only a few minutes before closing and the donuts still tasted fresh. I must say, these are the best doughnuts you can find anywhere in town. They're easily the best doughnuts I've had in years and everyone in my family agrees. The doughnuts are light and fluffy, not too oily or dry, and always full of flavor. My mom is particularly fond of the apple fritters, while my father and brother gravitate towards the chocolate frosted ones. Personally, I'm a stickler for tradition and love to get just a simple glazed doughnut. You'd be surprised how hard it is to get a simple glazed doughnut right, but I've eaten enough to know a good one when I find it. The only other glazed doughnut that compares in my opinion is one from Krispy Kreme when it's literally hot off the belt. I'm always happy to make a stop here and the family that runs the place is always great to interact with. If you have the chance, I'd 100% recommend you take the time for a sweet detour. read more

We were so excited for Bakers Dozen to re-open. We have gone here for years and used to be the best donuts in town. After they re-opened we got a dozen to see if it was like the old days, but is wasn't. Prices had gone up significantly and the entire dozen we got tasted like day old donuts. We were there at 9 am so we thought they would be fresh like they used to be- or they maybe have changed up the recipes. Nothing ever stays the same unfortunately. read more

I was at the door Friday morning when they opened and went in to get some donuts. I asked if the donuts were fresh and I was assured they were. However I took the donuts home to eat and could definitely tell they weren't fresh. The glazed rings were stiff and were not very fresh. I had to use a knife to cut through the hard fritters. They might as well be a manufactured donut shop like Dunken. Sorry for the bad review, but as a retired sailor, I've been to some really great donut shops in the U.S. and this place doesn't compare to those great places. read more

Wow pleasantly surprised by these doughnuts. I just moved to town and I'm pretty picky about my doughnuts. I found there to be a great variety and choose. They also decorate a lot of them for fun for the holidays. Makes it fun for my daughter. I found that's my chocolate custard one had the perfect amount of chocolate on top and the perfect amount of filling and I loved it. I'm always having a hard time with these because there is never enough filling. Well guess what bakers dozen did enough. I stepped out of my comfort zone and got a doughnut I don't usually get and it's a cake doughnut. Not only that a blueberry one. I tried it because of all the yelp reviews on here saying how good it was. WOW is all I gotta say. It was so freaking amazing and if you have never had the blueberry one it's a must. Also all the cake doughnuts are the best I've ever tasted. Crunchy outside of the doughnut soft inside it's perfect. This is definitely my go too doughnut place now around here! I have an obsession with donuts. If there's a new donut place I've got to try it. When we go out of town and we're on a road trip, we'll stop and get donuts. I definitely have a mental total of the best I've eaten at, and Baker's dozen has made it to the top of that list. I needed to have a procedure done at the hospital in Idaho Falls. We drove nearly two hours there from Star Valley, Wyoming. I wanted something good to look forward to after the procedure so I decided to try out Baker's Dozen. We arrived around eleven. Yes, they were down to the last of the donuts. The baker was incredibly friendly. I said we hadn't been there before could she please tell us what a few of the donut flavors were. She happily told us what they were and also said that new customers get two free donuts. Sweet!! In the end we walked out with fifteen donuts. They give you thirteen in a box (Baker's dozen ) and the two free ones. We got two S'mores donuts which were soft and flavorful, the whopping cream in the center is so good! The Hershey's has a chocolate center which was also delicious. We had a blueberry one that was fantastic and soft two days later. In fact despite getting the donuts at a late hour every donut tasted fresh and delicious! Needless to say this is now our favorite donut shop. We will be back to get more, hopefully a little earlier so I can try their apple fritters and any other speciality donuts that were already sold out. Run don't walk to this donut shop and become obsessed too. read more

This is just a classy joint from the top down. Randy, the owner, is one of the nicest dang guys you'll meet. It's very apparent that he loves what he does, takes pride in it, and rightly so! There are different levels of doughnuts out there. At the bottom, you've got the grocery store level grade doughnuts. Those doughnuts are generally pretty sad. Then you've got the big name, nationally known ones like Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts. At the top you've got the mom and pop shop, local baker doing his thing. This level tends to be a wildcard, because sometimes you find really really good ones, and sometimes you find terrible ones. The Baker's Dozen falls into that top level, and at the very highest grade of doughnuts. The textures + the freshness + deliciousness makes for literally the best doughnuts I've ever had. They don't just stop at apple fritters, but they make raspberry and peach fritters and maybe others too. The raspberry fritter will BLOW YOUR MIND. The old fashioned glazed, throw that baby in the microwave for 12 seconds and then prey you aren't subject to addiction. Needless to say, don't miss out on this place. I absolutely adore Bakers Dozen! This is the best bakery I've ever eaten at! Their maple spudnut is excellent. They have a lunch deal where you get a sandwich a donut and a drink for 6.50. As good as their donuts are, the sandwiches are even better. Do not pass on Bakers Dozen its the best thing Idaho Falls has to offer. We just moved into town and on our first morning without a moving truck decided to try Bakers Dozen. The store has a nice feel and a fun atmosphere. At first I was worried because there were no customers in the parking lot. That was good though. The lady behind the counter was able to (and did) explain every donut to us. I guess we beat the rush because by the time we left there were eight cars and more coming. The Oreo donut (both chocolate and vanilla) were my favorites. Always liked their donuts but their customer service cost them a customer today. There was one male employee helping customers when I walked in and I had one woman customer in front of me. Just as she stepped up to be served, a female employee came from the back carrying a tray of donuts. She, and the male employee both started chatting with the woman. When the woman mentioned that a particular donut wasn't in the case, the female employee said she could make one for her and she turned towards the kitchen. The the male employee said he'd do it since the female customer was as his mom. The female employee looked straight in the eyes, saw I was waiting to be helped, then turned to go back in the kitchen. I was slightly annoyed, she was willing to help the lady in front of me, but not me? Then another male employee came out (I don't think it was the original male, but might have been) and stood there talking to the female customer about a party she was having. We have donuts at least three times a week in the Houston-Galveston metro area and have tried donuts from around the country. The line was out the door which seemed promising. They close at noon on Saturdays, which is weird to me. I did make it on once, around 9:30 on the way out of town one Saturday. The donut selection was minimal. There were only about 7 donuts left, 3 different kinds. Nothing I was interested in, but I tried one anyways - i think it had white frosting with pecans or something on it. It was nothing special. Absolutely Phenomenal! A walk on the strip with no intention of eating donuts turned into a dream come true experience. We looked in the windows and saw the donuts but the door was locked. As we attempted to open the door Randy saw us and opened it. He called out to us to come in and taste them. We told him we didn't have our wallets on us but that didn't matter to Randy. They had a great selection, and I tried a "spudnut" that was delicious. The prices were very reasonable (I was actually surprised how low they were). Traveling home from a trip to Yellowstone, we found Bakers Dozen after a quick phone search. I read some of the other Yelp reviews and decided to give them a chance. Although they weren't located immediately off the highway, the short drive into town proved worthwhile. I don't remember the name of the particular donut that I purchased for myself, but I can describe it. It was large, square, covered in powdered sugar, and filled with a chocolate cream frosting which contained little chocolate chips. It was heavenly. I would definitely go back for more, but unfortunately, I live in Arizona. Probably the best thing for my waist-line. Holy crud is their Old Fashioned glazed donut good. Best I've had since I was a kid in California in the independent coffee/donut shops. Stopped in for lunch and had a sandwich as well. Also very good. Bread was fresh and soft. I wouldn't rate the sandwiches as high as the donuts - bread to meat ratio was too high - but they are good nonetheless.
