The experience was not bad but I think it could be better. This is not a place you come to relax and be treated like a spa while getting service. It's come in, get waxed, leave. I rated this on the following categories. Center Cleanliness 0 Waxer 1 Cleanliness of Waxing Practices .5 Comfortableness .5 Price 1 Center Cleanliness 0/1 - there's boxes of goods and supplies stacked on the counter and along the wall as soon as you walk in. The couch you wait on is stained. The bathroom is swarming with gnats that I felt so uncomfortable sitting on the toilet because it felt like they were landing on my vagina while sitting down. I wanted to leave based on this alone but I had already made an appointment and traveled to be here. Waxer 1/1 - I believe my waxers name was Jessey and she did a good job. Very nice and efficient. Went to town and did it pretty quickly. Laughed with me as I laughed in pain. No bleeding with sugaring like I have before with waxing. Cleanliness of Waxing Practices - .5. The service room itself was clean, white, and plain. She wore gloves but then powdered me and rubbed it in, then went and got the wax with the same gloves. I felt like there was a lot of cross contamination which made me a little uneasy knowing she probably does the same with each client. Comfortableness .5/1. Like I said, this is an in and out place. I haven't been here before or been waxed in a while so I needed a little more guidance than I got. No sheet over your legs so you just sit there half naked waiting for waxer to come in. I wasn't that impressed with this place, the woman who did mine was really nice, but I felt that this was probably the more painful wax I've had compared to others (the blue hard wax and beeswax on strips). Also my appointment ran over 30 minutes late. It kind of creeped me out how the clinician dipped her gloved hand in the pot of wax after using it on my skin - I'm used to the clinician being very diligent about getting a new "stick" each time to apply new wax. Also the clinician was very liberally using the baby powder..like realllly liberally. With possible links to talc and ovarian cancer I was a bit freaked out by that. read more

The worst experience of sugaring in my life! they don't deserve one star! Not only it was extremely painful I had to tell her to stop so I can catch my breath because it felt like she is ripping my skin off with the hair, but I have hematoma now, she said bruises are normal and will disappear in a 24 hours. First of all this isn't a bruise this is hematoma, and it won't go away in a few days, and I will be lucky enough if I won't have ingrown hair and pigmentation after this execution. This isn't worth $53 I paid with the tip and evething else, I'm extremely disappointed and mad She ruined my skin! I only chose this place based on goodly reviews, apparently "master" don't know proper techniques. Refund is a must!!! read more

I've been a customer for well over 1 year now and I continued returning, because Yalda is great at what she does and the results were amazing and lasting. I've even provided a video testimonial. I understand that Yalda has a new location in North Miami and is no longer at the Fort Lauderdale location. Well, since Yalda is not at this location now the time before this one, a middle age Hispanic lady did my wax and I was very happy with the results too, because she worked just like Yalda (painless, fast, clean). Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, I returned for another Brazilian wax and there was a younger Asian girl (I'm not sure of her name), but she did my wax and it was extremely painful, it took long and the absolute worst part of it all is that I broke out with bumps all over the area. White heads, some bigger than others, but it's no longer smooth. The hair is also back and the bumps are still here. I went to my Doctor and she said unsanitary conditions/procedure could've contributed to it like double dipping without changing gloves, the environment etc. I do remember her double dipping. I called Yalda and left messages and sent a detailed text, but haven't heard back. I will not be returning and I was driving about an hour to this location as I do not live in the area, because I liked Yalda's work, but this girl who did the sugaring did an awful job. I am very upset! They have not attempted to resolve this. I will never patronize that place again and people, please be careful. read more

After my initial experience @ sugaring wax center, I decided to check to see if laser hair removal might be an option for me (it's not bc my hair is too light). My friend coaxed me into trying sugaring again and I texted Yalda to tell her what happened. She offered me $20 off (I didn't even see that she offered 50% off here til just now:/) I went back and she explained that the hair didn't come out very easily because the hair follicle is strong from years of shaving. Also, the blonde hair on my legs is so light that it is hard to see in the indoor fluorescent lights they have (although it is quite clear and distinguishable in the sun, which is why the missed hairs went unnoticed until I got home). As for the long hairs which grew in the next day, there is hair right underneath the hair that had just been pulled and that is the explanation for that. After this was explained, I understood about the process and this time the hair did come out more easily. We also focused more on the area where the hair was missed before so it would all come out. I still found a few spots where there was some missed hair but it wasn't as much or as noticeable as before and I know next time it'll be even better! I suggest to anyone else who is interested in trying sugaring to know your problem areas (where the hair is stronger or grows more than the rest) so you can tell them to double check there and maybe go over it more just to make sure. I wonder if different lighting would help so they wouldn't miss the lighter hairs on some clients? Anyways, this time was definitely better. My rating would've been higher had I not had missed hairs again. Perhaps next time they will get them all. Third times a charm? We will see! read more

I really want to give Sugaring Wax Center five stars but the professionalism/service is clearly lacking. Without a doubt, the waxing results are five star - it's quick, relatively painless, and I haven't experienced any ingrowns - but, I've been there twice and have had two issues come up. During my first visit, I made a 9am appointment with Yalda because I had a 10am meeting nearby. I got a call around 8:50 that she was running about 10 minutes late (a-okay with me, life happens) but by 9:20 she still hadn't arrived. I called her and she said it would be about 5 more minutes or so because she was coming from Miami, but that the service would be quick and I would make my 10am meeting. She finally arrived, completed the wax and I was on my way. The experience was great (minus the tardiness) - Yalda has an amazing personality - and the wax was perfect. So perfect, in fact, that I decided to book another appointment with her for 6:30pm the following month (Jan 2018). On the day of my appointment I get a text that Lilli will now be doing my wax because Yalda wasn't working that day despite my appointment. The experience with Lilli was fine, except she too was running late and I didn't get seen until 7:00pm. Plus she was much slower than Yalda (she's been sugaring for 4 months) and it was a little more painful. All in all, I'll probably be back because I like the results from sugaring and this place has the best reviews in all of South Florida as of now. They have room for improvement and I'll keep that in mind when booking, but it really is a great place. read more

Found out about this place after purchasing a Groupon. I have been a regular ever since. Yalda is kind and funny and always makes me feel at ease. The pain is minimal and Yalda moves quickly. Yalda was absolutely amazing because she was patient, explained the whole process to me and was sensitive to how I felt throughout my experience. I was skeptical but weeks later I was still raving to my friends about the results. The initial finished appearance was completely hair free which was shocking to me because she didn't even have to go in with a tweezer. Tried here for the first time. Nice ladies, clean and loved no double dipping since she picks it up with her hand (with glove).Yes it is smooth but SO much more painful. The initial application was fine but she kept moving and spreading the wax ON MY VAGINA. It was like slowly ripping off a bandaid and when u think its over moving it over and doing it again. The place looks shady inside, with tiny weird-looking "rooms" and huge open cans of waxing solution. But have no fear, the workers here know what they are doing. I had brows and Brazilian by Lily, she was VERY thorough and nice. I wasn't even uncomfortable with her "friend" present to watch - I assume another new employee or something - as that friend was nice, chatty and helpful. Love sugaring. This is definitely an experience like I have ever experienced but it was worth it. The only reason I took off a star is because I can't imagine the pain I would have been in if I had long hair. Luckily for me, I had recently waxed so it was more of a touch up. The benefits of this type of waxing is that it feels like you're getting a massage while getting waxed, the mixture is all natural- no chemicals- and the specialist said that this reduced ingrown hairs so that was cool. The con like I said is to avoid going there if your air is fully grown in unless you like pain. I plan on returning as I really enjoyed the look and feel of my skin afterwards. read more

I've been going here for 3-4 waxes now. I used to go to European Wax Center but I got tired of their constant pushing for wax passes, ridiculous up-selling for products, and I had had a few poor service experiences with them. I ended up finding Sugaring Wax Center because I started searching for an alternative to EWC who seems to have monopolized the wax industry. My first few times at Sugaring Wax Center I went to a few different wax specialists. All the ladies did a good job. I go to Helen now. She does a most thorough job and is very polite and attentive. Brazilian waxes can be awkward for obvious reasons, but Helen is very professional and most of all she waxes in a way where it's less painful than waxes I've had done in the past. I've been a customer here for years and have never had an issue with bad wax or bad service. But there is only one person working at a time and for the past few months even with an appointment you're going to wait at least 15 to 45 minutes for service. Haven't been able to get in and be seen right away or at my exact appointment time for months. It's a shame there aren't more places to get sugar waxing (or more girls who are willing to work here) as it is the best wax option for your skin. read more

This was my last effort to continue to get Brazilian waxing because my last experience led to the worst ingrown hair, I had to go to the doctor to get antibiotics because it was just horrible. I wouldn't recommend regular waxing when sugar waxing is almost pain free and very quick as well. I recommend to anyone especially someone who's about to give up on waxing. I found this place on Google about a month ago and had my first Brazilian wax with Yelda which was GREAT. She was a great conversationalist and was very fast. I LOVED my results as I've been waxing with regular wax but after trying sugar wax I was convinced it was way better. I went about 2 days and Yelda wasn't there. I was a bit iffy about trying somebody else but the reviews were good so in I went. I forgot her name but she seemed to be European. Very nice lady. I knew things were off when it passed the 30 minute mark and changed her gloves about 4 times. It was SOOOOOO painful. I don't think even with regular wax I've ever been so uncomfortable. I was in the butterfly position so long that when I finally stood up I fell to the floor from my legs being so numb. I am extremely burned down there and am PEELING. It ruined my whole day. I really liked the lady she was very nice but I will never get my wax by her again. read more

Omg I am super excited to find a sugar waxing location out in Fort Lauderdale. I am from Los Angeles so there are a lot more sugaring places available out there. I love love sugar waxing, it's the best way to remove hair. I get the Brazilian. I have been to the Sugaring Wax Center twice and have been extremely satisfied with the results. Normally when I get sugared it's a little painful, however the Sugaring Wax Center "sugar mommas" make the process a breeze and the pain is very minimal. I have gotten sugared many many times over the years and waxed. I prefer sugaring over waxing because there is less irritation for me. I definitely would recommend if you want hair removal to visit the Sugaring Wax Center, you will definitely fall in love. read more
