The previous contractor said the unit was dead with no coolant left in the system. They said they must replace the outside unit plus the two units in the house.RACSO found two leaks one at the outside unit and the other in the lines going through the garage to both inside units. The starting price from the original contractor was well over $20,000, on the way out the door he lowered it to $12,000.. We laughed in his face and used window units for three years. Of course it (ALL) came out thru the basement toilet on a Sunday! Oh yes, this was also the weekend it was 7 frickin degrees. American Sewer was recommended by my Septic pumper, I got fantastic service! The Technician Tom went the extra mile. 50' of snaking didn't do it (but definitely was needed). Then he pulled the lid to the actual tank and found the wad of towels at the inlet that he pulled out with the crowbar. Cleaned up everything he should have, was very polite and explained everything which was very helpful. He could have told me I had a septic problem and I would have believed him. Two hours of hard, emergency , dirty work for $325 on a Sunday, I felt very good about the value, this was truly a major problem. Tom showed up right when the owner said he would which was about 50 minutes after I called, then he called 2 hrs later to be sure we were happy. He cleaned the furnace out and changed the filter. He then said the "heat exchanger is burnt out because it's purple" handed me a bill of $535 for the cleaning and left me without a working furnace/without heat when I have 3 kids. He said he'd call back once he spoke to his supervisor about what he can do about the furnace. I called the office 3 times over the next two days and they literally left me hanging. So in the end, they took $535 from me and never fixed the issue. I called pseg and they got my furnace working with minutes at no cost. Pseg said the drain tray needed emptying. That was it.
