Good burgers, giant portions and great shakes. It's a nice little place to get great food.

Stopped in around 11:40 on a Saturday. Place had about 3 patrons. Took about 20 minutes to produce a small order of curly fries. The portion was not huge, they were exceptionally greasy and luke warm. No salt comes with them so you have to self season. read more

NEW OWNERS as of August 2020! They finally put in outdoor seating, burgers are now FRESH grilled ANGUS beef, and they are doing upgrades. There;s even a little kiddie game for while you wait. This old favorite of fredonia is finally getting the attention it deserves. Next season i guess the restaurant is getting expanded and a new big parking lot is going in. A bunch of trees in the back are cleared and hydroseed went down. Stoked to see it next year. read more

i've been going there for over 50 yrs and the last two yrs the quality and the service has gone down hill big the place order over phone they tell you a half hour get pay for it leave tip get home and food is cold and the last 3orders they can't even get it right .you call up they tell you come back we will remake right .or they will tell you we will but your name on the frig and make it right the next time.how many time before they get it right??? read more

Went to this place on a tip while visiting some friends at SUNY Fredonia. They had never heard of the place, and it was obvious why. The prices in this joint are too steep for the bare-bones basic food they offer. They even were charging extra to add tomato to a burger when we went. Who can respectably do that? The burgers were no better than a frozen backyard barbecue pack and they came with your typical shack fries. No one of the four I went with were satisfied, and these were college kids who are never picky about anything. read more

Impressive fish-fry any day all day ... and built to satisfy. I heard their fish-fry was good, and now I know. Their coleslaw is only available on Fridays so I was offered a side salad because it was an off day. Not being an uncooked vegies enthusiast, I tried their onion rings instead. The platter was served up with choice of french fries (curley or streight), 2 (two) breaded fish fillets large enough to cover a plate when placed side-by-side, and texas toast crisp n warm right off the grill. There were fresh lemon wedges, but I opted for the malt vinegar to season my fish. The whole platter (including the side of onion rings) was piping hot ... like do not bite that right now sort of hot ... so I kept slurping on my milk shake and trying to nibble fries n rings. Temptation won, of course. It took some effort, but I nearly cleaned my plate. The fish was kept warm by the breading, so was still nicely heated as I worked my way across the platter. Cut thin, the fillets cooked evenly. Some places serve fish with one end being thick and the tail end quite thin, but the even thickness here produced an evenly cooked and all-the-way juicy cut of lovely sweet fish. It was clearly cooked at just the right temp of frier, because it was not the slight bit oily and the meat was perfectly steamed inside the coating. The onion rings! I have to mention, these are not tiny ground up and extruded types found at those global chain restaurants. The rings here are the whole battered onion ring type that a child might wear like a bangle bracelet. Sure, the side salad is probably good also, but I clearly made the right choice here. Next time I am here on a Friday, I will try the coleslaw. I could easily have taken half this fish-fry meal home for a second round, but I was enjoying it so much there was no stopping me. I went for a slow cruise up and down the Dunkirk pier with the remainder of my milk shake in hand, and that level of satisfaction is truely something to be savored. read more

We were on a mini road trip and like to try independent shops.... This place flunked out BIG time,,, Who in the world pre cooks burgers??? They were the worst and the bun not even heated, we couldn't even eat more than 2 bites!!! What a waste of $29.... read more

I wanted to like this place soooo much, but I just can't. We recently moved back to town, and wanted to find a nearby place for a good fish fry which wasn't a dark, dank bar. The fish fry review completely suckered me. I think perhaps James is not originally from WNY. We are, and were disgusted upon receiving a square plank of chopped and breaded and frozen fish. Yes, the price was cheaper than anywhere else, but still far too much for some Van de Kamp's style "fish". The fries, however, lived up to every bit of the hype. The cole slaw was very good, too. We went back another time for some hot dogs and Italian sausage (sadly, patty form only). Again, the fries were great. A great place for friendliness, convenience, low prices. This business has been a local mainstay for 40+ years serving burgers, dogs, curly fries, onion rings, ice cream, milkshakes etc. They also offer a turkey burger, Gardenburger and salads for the more health conscious. Everything is made fresh to order! The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. And they now accept credit cards for those of us who don't often carry cash! read more

My family and I used to come here to eat lunch occasionally but recently I've just came here for the ice cream. The food was really good when I ordered it. I'd usually get he bacon cheeseburger with the curly fries. The curly fries were especially good since I'd usually order 2 servings. The ice cream also was delicious, both soft and hard. The only improvement to this place is make it cleaner as I remember the last time I came here it was somewhat dirty. read more
