They use preferred pronouns, and are respectful of the majority LGBT clientele. Dr Chou calibrated medication effectively where our last shrink failed. Selene just started when we entered the facility, and proved to be the best therapist we ever had. She helped us communicate like a family again and we miss her dearly. Had to take off a star for communication and staffing quality. The staff do not communicate in a timely manner or simply do not communicate at all. I've received a total of six apologies for miscommunication over 2 months. According to my child, one staff member is hated by all the clients but remain employed. The rural facility is infested with mosquitos in warm weather with no mitigation equipment. Omar the chef is amazing. My daughter gained 15 lbs during her stay which she is now shedding. Ojai is reputed to be the strictest residential facility in Evolve's portfolio. Their approach is DBT and CBT which is targeted for Borderline Personality Disorder. If your child is suffering from behavioral issues, I highly recommend their program. Start your family contract and discharge planning ASAP after admission. Insurance controls everything and I was surprised by the speed of discharge. Be prepared with a PHP or IOP and psychiatrist appointment.

Everybody at Santa Paula just wanted to go home, and I was no exception. The facility was a bit drab and dreary, as many of these places tend to be..."the nature of the beast" as they say. Although the Activity Department made a valiant attempt at keeping people occupied and busy with Bingo, movies, art and other games, Santa Paula Post Acute was still not "home." Residents were cared for on a day-to-day basis by CNAs (Certified Nurses' Assistants). There were also nurses (LVNs and RNs) who oversaw the passing of medications to patients, among other duties. Several nurses were also employed in the facility's various offices. During the years I was there, Santa Paula Post Acute did not have a very strong administration, which tended to lead to chaos and upsetting results in the running of the facility. The medical staff is very patient and caring to her needs. The dietary program exceeds our expectations. There are daily activities for her to participate from Bingo to Karaoke. Every visit to the facility is pleasant and have always found mom to be well taken care of. Of course there is no place like home, but there are circumstances where the family can no longer meet the needs and 24 hour trained staff is needed. Very compassionate staff.

The Briarr house employees truly care and are passionate about their work. They are extremely underpaid, unappreciated and deserve so much praise for the proficient level of care! The house manager Jules, is an angel. She truly fights for each clients rights and wants the best for them. The clinicians Kate and Isabelle are AMAZING! Kate was my therapist and she is so intelligent and empathetic that fueled my healing process. The whole house staff was amazing as well.. no words to describe the superior level of care I received. Along with the connections, education and support I received I have never felt so much kindness in my life by everyone during my month stay. It was bitter sweet out processing but thankful for this investment to my trauma healing journey.
