However, 541 King offers delicious hot and seasoned well. They great music that caters to any crowd from multiple genres of music. They offer a beautiful selection of food and drinks at the bar with drink specials every day. The service is awesome. No wait for seating and the servers are very attentive to your needs. It tasted like those Bubba burgers that are in the frozen food section at the grocery store. Little to no flavor. The fries were also neither fresh nor remotely warm. Recently my husband and I wanted to catch up with some family and close friends. We chose "Sultan's," a local hookah bar downtown on King St. This small bar is the perfect mix of a "dive" and club. The drinks are priced well and the music choice is on point. The staff and patrons alike are filled with good energy and the party lasted well into the night. The space is a tab bit cramped but the seating is comfortable and the tighter quarters sort of adds to the intimacy. The manager is strict and obnoxious. Lol no one wants to come vibe with the lights bright asf the entire time. The staff seem like they walk on egg shells around him. The restaurant I went to before this had dimmer lights. This place has so much potential especially it really being the only best bar for people of color but of course there's always different standards versus other bars in Charleston. It's been so long now and they still close early at 12. It's so disappointing and frustrating. We all just want to come and have a good time. The music and hookah are good here. read more

This place literally sucks. Not only did the short brunette girl upcharge us on our hookah 63 bucks for a 36 dollar hookah. Their reader said my card declined then when I checked my bank account it mYsTerIoUsLy went through and charged me. I'm waiting for it to be done processing so I can dispute it. But when the girl upcharged us I asked the blonde bartender why it was 63 bucks and she got onto the brunette asking why she was up charging us then proceeded to get onto her for messing up another party's bill at the other end of the bar read more

If i could give 0 stars i would. Been living in chs for 3 years now and this is the worst bar i've ever been to. Bouncers are mean for no reason and all of them are on a power trip. Funny you guys are so quick to get physical with people (women too) standing in your way but still let underage girls in because you think they're hot. Tried to patron Sultan's last night. The "bouncer" took 4 of our ID's and claimed them all to be fake, and refused to scan them in order to prove they were real. He said he was going to have to take them and we would have to walk away because he hands them into the cops at night. They were all real ID's. He proceeded to make the 2 of us, who naively handed him our IDs, venmo him to get back our ID's. His Venmo handle is literally "@getbackID", as you can see in the photo below. This business should seriously consider letting this man go as he is driving business away, and he is illegally scamming potential customers for personal financial gain. My friend called over a cop who was sitting in his car. He scanned them and they proved to be real! Can you believe it? The bouncer then decided to change his entire story and lie to the cop. We told him to check his Venmo history. The cop advised us to take our business elsewhere as the bouncer was clearly scamming people for money. Although I sadly cannot review Sultan's as an actual bar, I give the Sultan's bouncer a 0/5. And will definitely not be returning. read more

Waited for 20 minutes with no menu and service terrible customer service, would never go back

last night my friend and i decided to try sultans out since the brand change. it was the first bar we hit and ofc the bouncer takes her ID and claims it's fake . he was disrespectful , cussing us out and calling us stupid cause he thought we were lying . i understand doing your job , but don't be a jerk and do it right . it's known that all real ID's have to have a reflective palmetto tree and moon in SC . he thought that was the problem (which is ridiculous , how is he a bouncer and doesn't know what ID's are supposed to have) . we ended up wasting a cops time and had to have them get her ID back , cause we couldn't drive home without it . the cop told him it was legit , but we didn't stay to victory dance in the dudes face . hire staff that knows what they are doing and doesn't treat young women like POS . can't believe y'all are part of "charleston hospitality group" when you let your staff cuss out customers . read more
