This isn't the first time I've been here we like to go to the rooftop bar because it has a great view of Charleston and it was a really nice day yesterday. They close off the ninth floor to the bar because they said it was at capacity so we decided to take the fire escape exit up to the bar. There wasn't a lot of people up there. We sat at the bar, had two drinks and the two de Tartare everyone's always really nice and the drinks are really good. The only issue we had was them closing off the elevator so we had to take the stairs. read more

We were fortunate to show up here when a private party had just ended. It was a Tuesday night, and there were very few people at the bar. The rooftop offers a great view of the city and with nice weather, it's a great place to have drinks. The prices are steep, but it was worth it for the view. We popped in here for a bite and a drink after a cashier at a local boutique recommended it. We told her we were looking for a cute rooftop spot. I'm glad we asked because otherwise, we wouldn't have known it was here. But I get the feeling they like that! We ordered truffle fries, hummus and veggies and ceviche. We had such a good time there with all our friends on the rooftop! What a vibe! What a view! Service was amazing and tasty! Ordered up some food and it was all presented really nice and plentiful. Our server PLUS another gentleman was helping our rowdy crowd, but they were nothing but nice. Because of this we went back today before leaving for the airport. Inside and ontop the Hotel Bennett, Fiat Lux is a nice reprieve from heat of the day. With expansive windows to take in the view with the air conditioning inside or with the breeze afforded by being up so high on the outdoor seating - it's a spot to relax and recharge with a nice cold drink. Our visit took place during the daytime and the atmosphere was light and airy. Unsure what the ambiance becomes once the sun starts setting and it transitions to the evening. Staff was attentive and drinks were delicious, price is reflective of the atmosphere though - so don't expect happy hour prices here! read more

I stopped in to Fiat Luxe with some girlfriends to kick off our evening of trying all the bar/dining options Hotel Bennet had to offer. Fiat Luxe is located on the rooftop of the hotel offering views of Marion Square (you'll have to walk outside on the patio if you want to check it out though) Service was fast and the cocktails were delicious! They offer a variety of signature cocktails, a full service bar, and a limited menu of bites and the vibe is elevated - in more ways than one considering you're on the rooftop ;) We all loved our cocktails and I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu! Saw the rooftop bar from another rooftop bar. We decided to try it out. You know, it was a nice sunny and windy day in Charleston, a beautiful city with nice people. We walked into the lobby of the hotel, were greeted by the hotel staff, and they led us to the elevators that went up to the rooftop bar. Rode up the elevator to the bar. It was not that busy, but we waited about 5 minutes for a table after arriving, and got an outside table with an absolutely amazing view. A server came out, and we said we would like to order. She said she would come back out. 10 minutes later, nothing. I went back in, checked in with her. She said she would be out to get our drink order. 10 minutes later, the two tables next to us were served, nothing for us. I went back in, told the same server, who was at the bar with a group of friends, that we wanted to get drinks. She said she would be out. A few minutes later, a different server came out and took our drink order, in including a pretty nice (*pricey) bottle of bubbly, and we ordered a ceviche. Drinks came out a few minutes later with the ceviche. We waited 40 minutes to spend a good amount on an expensive bottle and tomato soup with shrimp floating in it. I would usually give the benefit of the doubt and be understanding about waiting, but the server straight up ignored us for about 30 minutes, while goofing off with friends. read more

The view is fine if you like staring at parking lots and pretending it's "breathtaking," and the cocktails are the kind of watered-down nonsense you drink once and immediately regret paying for. And then there's Brendan. Oh, Brendan. The human embodiment of a group text you can't mute. He struts around like a "Charleston Tastemaker," but the only thing he's mastered is talking about himself louder than the music. Every interaction feels like he's about to pitch you a pyramid scheme wrapped in a cocktail napkin. The whole vibe is less "luxury lounge" and more "forced networking happy hour hosted by a guy who brags about his fantasy football record at weddings." Nothing genuine, nothing memorable--unless you count the lingering sense you've been hustled. If overpriced vodka sodas and Brendan 's relentless dad-at-a-wedding energy are your thing, congratulations, you've found your spot. During a business trip to Charleston we went up to Fiat Lux. Beautiful space and atmosphere but was extremely uncomfortable over hearing the manager making inappropriate comments about customers. Stopped in for a drink on the rooftop bar as I was told it was a place to visit. The views are pretty great, and I did enjoy my drink. I almost sat at the bar and turned to see there were empty tables on the terrace and opted to sit out there. The bartender encouraged it, but never said we're not serving those tables, etc. So, I sat out there for about 10 minutes with no service. I came back in and sat at the bar and was served immediately. If you aren't servicing the tables on the terrace, let your customers know. read more

This is a very cute and very small roof top bar at the top of the Bennett hotel. It's a nice place to have a drink especially at sunset. The view is quite nice. It's very hard to get food up here so don't plan on eating anything or getting some nibbles. This is really purely a place to get a cocktail. They have a tv that plays the sports games too if that's your thing. Not a bad place to have a nice cocktail and watch the game. read more

Fiat Luxe sits atop the Hotel Bennet . The bar features your standard selection of spirits in addition to specialty cocktails . The real appeal is the rooftop views . Now , it is NOT the best rooftop view in Charleston . You get a view of Marion Square, some skyline and the Arthur Ravenel Bridge (that connects downtown to Mount Pleasant). In order to take in the views you must exit the bar and stand in the open air part while standing up . Again, not the best rooftop in Charleston but still very nice . While we were there last, a couple got engaged:) Also, you can get a great view of the nearby St Matthews Lutheran Church - the bells ring on the hour and every quarter hour and it's kinda cool to be eye level with the steeple and hear it ring . There's both comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, a good drink menu and a food menu . It's a great place to kickoff your evening, especially if you are dining at the hotel restaurant Gabrielle. I personally like to have a cocktail at Fiat Luxe, dinner at Gabrielle and a nightcap at Camellias (also inside the hotel). I live in Charleston and it's super convenient to keep our evening activities all in one location ! read more

The lobby is a bit fancy and luxurious, but very welcoming atmosphere. I decided not to eat or drink, this trip was only for the view. I was in town checking out a few rooftop bars. Once you take the elevator up its all self explanatory which way to proceed. There is nice bar that serves food and drinks if you desire. Nice size area for seating and taking a much needed break. The pool is for guest only, but I did wanna check it out for the future stay. The view is a section of Marion Square and the park below. They do have a champagne bar that I will indeed check out next time. Yes I would recommend if you have some time to visit and tell us what you think! read more

Great place for a nice light Mediterranean meal. The setting is excellent. The bar and the selection is the highlight along with a beautiful view from a classic hotel. Came here yesterday and had an absolute blast. Cassandra was our bartender and was super awesome, fun and knowledgeable about all the cocktails. She suggested a few of her own creations and they were all amazing. My first drink had gold, edible star glitter on it. I mean come on!! And they really do have the best view downtown. We actually had a great time at the bar downstairs too (had an amazing Espresso martini and nice chat with Daniel, the bartender) and they suggested we come up to the ninth floor to get this view. This is the rooftop bar at Hotel Bennett. We ran up for a drink one evening after dinner elsewhere on King St. The space seemed plain in comparison to the luxurious lobby. The view is of a section of Marion Square. The drinks were fancy but not necessarily delicious. We will check out Camellias champagne bar in the lobby next time. read more

This is my first time posting on Yelp, but my experience at fiat lux compels me to warn others. The hotel Bennett is very nice, but the food is terrible. I ordered the tuna poke at the fiat lux bar and the avocado base was like the bland thin spread from Trader Joe's. Worst of all, they ran out of tuna and snuck in beets as a poor substitute, cut in the same way as the tuna, as filler. There was more beets than tuna. The waitress was condescending when I asked about it, since they were not listed on the menu and were quite a surprise, to say the least. If you are looking to overpay for condescension and mediocre food, this is your place! read more

It's a terrace an the interior edge of the U-shaped Hotel Bennett, with concrete walls obscuring any view of the city or water. Service was abysmal - surprising for this venue. big miss for this bar. the view standing up is amazing. but the balcony walls are solid and the furniture is super low. so sit and have a drink, you are staring at a wall and have no view. Some high top tables and stools would be a simple fix. as is, terrible. might as well sit in the alley and face the wall. puzzling why it is done this way. read more
