Hen meeting or pilates class? Depends on the time of day. I kept wondering why there was nobody under 40 in the 10 am class. Then I understood. Nobody looking for a serious pilates class would attend. Its all older women who have been members for years and all they do is talk and talk and talk during class. Vacations, cellulite, Cher... Unbelievable, It is completely the teachers responsibility to restore order and they don't. One woman especially would participate in the chats! It is the most unprofessional setting I have ever been in. I dont like to throw away money but my frustration was so great that I actually just blew off several of the classes in my package because I knew I would be holding in rage the whole time if I had to endure it one more time. However, if you can attend in the evenings or weekends, its a whole other story. The first day I took Isaacs class was like attending an entirely different studio. The class was challenging and Isaac motivational and attentive. He watches and he corrects. Just a wonderful teacher. I wish my schedule would have had allowed for nights. I highly recommend attending this studio if you can. read more

It is now 6 weeks before the one year anniversary of my injury sustained at Sumbody. After numerous visits to numerous physicians @ UCLA (hip surgeon, sports medicine, orthopedic, general practice) and multiple exams, repeat x-rays, finally the MRI proved far more than strain to the groin area. I not only tore several ligaments in the groin area, I tore the labrum, the main ligament attaching the leg to the socket. I have never severed such pain, which took my breath away when I stepped into unpredictable situations, such as having to pivot to avoid falling, getting in and out of the car, walking on the sidewalk when someone bumps into you, normal daily activities suffering such incredible pain multiple times per day. I still feel that pain at times through the week. I am finally working with a wonderful physical therapist @ UCLA REHAB, who told me this is the most difficult injury to recover from. I hear the same from sports commentators when seeing a football or basketball player diagnosed with a simple groin strain - takes a long time to recover. Due to the torn labrum, I will never fully recover. Addressing several comments I read here: If Somebody offers deals on Groupon, why is it an embarrassment to purchase, according to one lady? Best way to try a studio before you invest. Yes, I did do my research (same critic). They had positive reviews at the time. BTW far fewer people take the time to post either positive or negative reviews. I have several years of experience and excellent training in Pilates from Physical Therapists,world famous spas, and wonderful studios. I had a year of private instruction, years ago. At one time I was a professional ballet dancer and won 2 auditions to dance with the world famous Bolshoi Ballet while they were touring the States. (to the same critic) The point being I know my body and it's limitations, which is why I signed up for a BEGINNERS CLASS & came 20 minutes before that much regretted class to speak with the instructor. I told him I needed to ease into it and needed a glance, every now & then, during the first session. IT WAS NOT A BEGINNERS CLASS! He failed to conduct a BEGINNERS CLASS. All the women attended regularly for a long period of time & one women had over 20 years of training in perfect form. The instructor did not let me take it slowly, he insisted on 4 springs attached and I asked to start with ONE. That's when I should have left. But he's the INSTRUCTOR OF A BEGINNERS CLASS. Due to his negligence and Sumbody's negligence in failing to monitor their instructors, ESPECIALLY BEGINNERS CLASSES, I suffered irreparable harm. The only thing I received from Heather, after a game of non-ending telephone tag, was an apology and my Groupon refund. The Studio had several partially broken reformers as the "regulars" told me they got in first to grab the working reformers. I got the last one left, no one else would take. This is also an issue of negligence. I do not know what standard of cleanliness one critic goes by. But I have never been in a studio with such run down, broken, dirty equipment and floors, especially since most people are barefoot. Why do you think this studio ALWAYS OFFERS SUCH GREAT DEALS ON LIVING SOCIAL? Altruism? NO, THEY NEED BODIES TO PAY THEIR RENT. They cannot sustain their business without offering unbelievably low prices every week. Wonder why? read more

I bought a Groupon for 10 classes. I will finish my classes and not return. After having difficulty finding the place (inside the Built Gym) and there being no reception but just a small room and an instructor who tells you somebody will contact you, it took me 4 months before I was able to take a class. The gym reception desk is no help. Once I got to speak to Heather (after playing phone tag), she was nice and signed me up/put me in the system. Then I went to my class and no one showed up. I called and it was cancelled but because she didn't have my info yet - except for my cell # - i was not called. Class was rescheduled. The room is very small, no windows and the reformers are the ones with leather straps and are very close together . The instructor is nice but you do have to ask for explanations from time to time. Unfortunately, after these 10 classes, I will not return. I seems that the focus is on their studio in Santa Monica. Also, parking is an issue and I tend to have to park on the street. read more

I had bought a deal online. They definitely treat you like a secondary customer. You cannot sign up online because people with deals can't get a passcode, so you are forced to e-mail them and harass them to get an appointment which they RARELY answer. I feel like it's more of a work out to try to get a class than actually going to class. The machines are no good. There is only one or two good ones and people come early and compete for them. The straps are leather. which make it hard to move and work out! I was initially turned on by this class by the low price but I much rather pay more and not waste my time trying to sign up and use bad machines! Also, the instructors are not good at all! They don't guide you because they are so self-consumed with themselves! read more

If you have ever taken classic group pilates reformer classes on well-built machines or with excellent instructors, there is no way you would post a review of how great these classes are at Sumbody Studio. First of all there are 9 machines which are usually full, so the instructor won't have time to lead the class and correct your form. Say you are advanced then. You will still have the annoyance of the rickety equipment with foot bars that you can't secure, or leather pulleys which hit your body as you pull down for "hundreds" and do not feel smooth at all. Or maybe you have the bad luck of getting a machine with no foot platform to stand on at the base of the machine for when you do "splits". I did not find the instructors concerned too much about safety - honestly I don't think they had time! Yes, the blond wood with white coverings are pretty, but the aluminum mechanisms that the springs and the sliding platform are on make me nervous, like they will break at any moment. I was glad to use up my 5 classes from my Groupon. I tried 5 different instructors for each class and was not impressed with any of them. I hate to knock the Sumbody instructors too much. I think for the most part they do the best they can, given the large classes. I realize that some Pilates' gurus insist that the construction of the original reformer equipment is most effective - like with wood and leather pulleys not raised a few inches to allow for pulling over the body. I prefer the contemporary version made of steel, pulleys made of nylon, with bars and solid foot platforms and springs that can be locked into place. So smooth - it feels ten times better! I also prefer an instructor who gives careful safety instruction on switching sides during "split", or who can explain exactly what body part should be working during any given exercise, while still keeping the pace up in the class. Also, this was my personal pet peave, but the music was set too loud. Because the classes are so large, when the instructor walked to one end of the room, you couldn't hear their instruction due to the music that was blasting. But nobody said anything (including me), so maybe it was just me... Remember, when it comes to workout equipment in general, the smoother the better and more effective! Unfortunately, at Sumbody Studio, if you sign up for the flat monthly fee for all the reformer classes you want, you will get what you pay for. read more

If it's your first (or second, third, maybe 500th) time doing pilates, I would strong recommend NOT coming to this studio. Why? 1. I've witnessed in two classes, two different teachers not providing any instruction as to what a reformer is or how it works to students who have explicitly stated they have never done pilates before. Good luck figuring out what a box is or how to lower your footrest! 2. Both teachers never provided any corrections to form no matter what your level is. You see people flailing around, crunching shoulders, locking knees, and puffing out ribs all over the place, and the teachers just keep moving along with the rep counts. They obviously can see all of this happening; why it's their firm studio philosophy to just keep barreling through the class without a gentle touch to a hunched shoulder or an arched back is unclear to me. 3. The teachers just count out reps, often far too quickly (hence resulting in all those jerky injury moves in #2), without any instruction beyond 'hold in your core.' 4. Reformers are downright filthy; black grime fills the gutters where the springs are and the backboard glides. Yuck. 5. Lame "sweating to the oldies" playlist going strong every time; the clientele is sophisticated westside women, not a Richard Simmons studio audience. Luckily this is LA and there are literally 1000's of pilates studios in this city. Choose one of those instead. read more

This review is only for the group classes, there is a very good chance they are great for private instruction - but I wouldn't venture to find out based on the experience I've had with the group classes. The owner (Heather) is really the only person you should take group classes from - but good luck on that one! She routinely hires an incompetent sub last minute to fill in for her - if she gets a private client to train during group class time. I've taken group classes at other Pilates studios and witnessed the entire class receive excellent instruction (the best is JK Zen). But Sumbody just seems incompetent, everyone will be doing something different, and most people will be doing the exercises incorrectly and the instructors don't bother to correct them! We come to a class to be INSTRUCTED! Not just sort of figure it out on our own and risk dangerous injuries. Beware, only take group classes here if you are VERY experienced - I've been doing Pilates regularly for 2 + years and don't feel like I have enough experience to take classes here, there just isn't enough actual teaching... On the plus side the studio location, parking and condition are OK. read more

Most of the other two star reviews seem correct. I also bought the groupon for 5 classes. It took me 3 months to actually get a class. I called many times per week and even contacted groupon to complain that the business may not exist--and I still didn't get a call. I finally showed up one day and got a spot in a night class. The receptionist was charming. The class was boring, easy and not what Pilates usually has to offer. I was unimpressed with the knowledge of the teacher of how to use the reformers and command a full class of eager women. i kept hitting the girl next to me if i wanted to participate in the "wide-leg circles." The class was more of a "lets stretch on funny machines" rather than a hard core strength, conditioning and super tone class that I'm used to with that equipment. The reformers are old and wooden so they make a loud creaking sound as you move. Not sure I'm even going to use the rest of my groupon. Step it up sum body. read more

I tried 5 classes from here and I did not feel like I got a great workout. After class I would have to go to the gym and workout more or take a spin class afterwards to feel like I actually put work in! There are a lot of older people (older than 45-50) and I feel like this class was perfect for them but not if you want to break a sweat. I did feel like I got a good abdominal workout though. I felt like I was wasting my money so I tried Pilates Platinum on 2nd st/Arizona. OMG now that is a true Pilates/core workout! That place go me dripping in sweat, shaking to my core, and working out my butt and legs! Overall Sumbody studio is overpriced and does not give you the core workout you pay for. Go to Pilates Platinum-it's 1 mile away, cheaper, and gives you a way better workout with better results! read more

Bought a Groupon-type deal for this studio...5 classes at $10 each.. Great deal right?! Meh....to book a class, you either have to call or e-mail since you're using a voucher. I e-mailed and didn't get a response so I called a couple of times before I got through to a live person. Took a class and i don't think i broke a sweat...i'm not even in that great of shape either. I think this studio is for older folks? The teacher was really really nice though. I just think this is not the type of workout that i'm looking for. read more

I tried this studio for the first time via classpass. I'm back to Pilates as of two weeks ago, after nearly a year off of any form of exercise. I'll come back only if I've run out of other studios to go to. I don't like giving low reviews of any local Pilates studios but my experience here was very average at best. I don't think I'm a Pilates expert in any way but over the last four years I've been to a lot of studios from LA to OC to Pasadena. 99% of those studios heavily emphasize proper form over anything else (i.e., speed, repetitions, etc.). That form includes breath too. The class I took here concerned me because everybody's form was off and liable to injure. I thought the lady next to me was going to catapult herself off the reformer with her fast, jerky maneuvering...yet no corrections. I've used the same form at one time or another of almost every student in that class since I started Pilates. And I've always been corrected out of those forms. It's confusing because there were no such corrections here. I'm glad I had a base knowledge of Pilates before attending class here. It's a bummer because it's a nice and large, sunny space. The machines are old and worn down but they serve their function. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would! This review is mostly for the Studio City location (Inside Body Fitness: 4070 Laurel Canyon Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604) I have been taking Pilates 2 or 3 times a week since Late August/Mid September to get ready for my wedding. I was so out of shape and super nervous (and I had an injury- see below) but I had gone to a quick Pilates Reformer sample class at another place, so I was interested in finding a studio that was really about teaching technique and not being "trendy." (No crossfit- Pilates fusion here, thank God.) Anyway, I wondered in one day and met the owner, Heather ... Who is amazing! She is so supportive and will still kick your butt at the same time! All of the teachers here are amazing... Heather, Dionna and Isaac are my favorite, most likely because I have the most interaction with them, but seriously everyone is AWESOME!!! I get so many complements about looking good and even better than that ... I feel amazing! I'm pretty much addicted to the reformer at this point. I have to say "leg circles are my happy place." I can't say more amazing things about the owner and staff and the fabulous work outs that make you feel STRONG to the fact that it's a great work out. I actually had/ have a tailbone injury and Pilates has really helped in the healing process. For those of you who have anything wonky with your body- tell your teacher and they have modifications, etc. Again, a million stars. I've gone down a dress size since I began training at Sumbody a short time ago. I've been a Pilates enthusiast for nearly twenty years and Sumbody Studio is among the best, hands down. Owner Heather Leon, is one of the few traditional Pilates masters formally trained under a protégé of Joseph Pilates himself -- which is a rare find in Los Angeles. Heather's team all have a unique style, but with a common goal of giving you an amazing workout, while keeping your form correct, and ensuring your body is safe. The studio has a great vibe, knowledgable instructors, all in a convenient location that's airy and bright, yet feels private (which I love.) After having two babies in three years, I needed a workout that gave me results -- and Pilates is giving me that core strength back, body tone, and more. I've suffered for years with chronic neck and back pain, but after each session, I'm left feeling energized and stronger. I absolutely love this studio. Heather and Janet are both well educated instructors. The classes do fill up really quickly but if you book them online a week in advance, you will most always get the classes you want. I also love that they don't blast the air con while doing your workouts. Most other studios I have been to blast the air con and I don't understand it. You have to heat the body so you don't injure yourself, yet you're trying to cool me down with fake air? Makes no sense. 5 stars for this studio. I keep going back and love it. read more

I am an intermediate level Pilates reformer student and took a reformer class with Flavia today for the first time at this studio. I am so pleased with my experience. I immediately scheduled a class for next week at the same time. 1. Flavia had us start with mat work, focusing on abs, which I really appreciated as a warm up because a) she didn't just dial in in the instruction, instead, leading us through careful choreography with a focus on form and, b) our bodies were working hard starting from the first five minutes of class-- a good omen. 2. The reformer work consisted of thoughtful choreography with layers and challenges at every step. It was so involved and never boring. No coasting. We were working HARD on every body part for 60 minutes. I've taken a LOT of reformer classes at many different studios for several years now, and I was just so impressed with the flow of the class. The music was also helpful without being overpowering or too loud. 3. The reformers are older, and very simple- just leather, metal and wood-- but they are the most comfortable reformers I've used thus far! I was pleasantly surprised. Don't be dismayed by the look. They are excellent. And clearly, built to last. My spine and neck were more comfortable at this studio than any of the others I've tried prior, modern reformers and all. 4. It was hard to initiate contact to establish my Groupon/set up new classes without being there in person. But, this is a small issue that is well compensated by the quality of instruction and friendliness of the small staff once you get there. It's important to remember that you're contacting a small Pilates studio, not a large gym with multiple staff on the floor at all times. No big deal. Sumbody is a great Pilates studio with fantastic teachers that I would recommend to anyone at any level. I have tried classes at a different studios in West LA and never found one where I wanted to pay the monthly fee to keep going back until I came here. Heather is a wonderful teacher and owner who creates a warm welcoming environment for everyone. Actually all of the instructors are great and add their own twist so you can find what is right for you, or able to change it up and experience different styles. During group classes they are still able to give everyone personal attention and make sure you are safe and your form is correct. They also offer a circuit class which is great, so you have the opportunity to try other Pilates equipment, besides the reformer. All of the equipment is in great condition and the studio is always clean and bright. Anyone looking to try Pilates for the first time, or anyone who has been doing it for years should consider going to Sumbody. read more

In high school I was voted Most Likely to never touch his toes and I'm easily the least flexible person on the planet. Although in my youth I was a part time athlete, time has not only caught me, it's kicked me to the ground and taken my lunch money. Over the past 15 years I've also accumulated numerous injuries and 65 lbs. I've tried to 'make a come back' numerous times by running, hiring a trainer (expensive), doing some form of cardio or weights at a gym or even Yoga, but either I was bored or I somehow hurt myself. I realized I needed the structure of a class. Pilates at Sumbody has been one of the most effective programs I've ever really enjoyed. If you're not familiar, but you've ever rehabilitated an injury, Pilates is really just physical therapy for your whole body at one time. You do it at your own level so you don't hurt yourself. It's somewhat aerobic and anaerobic and you can work up a sweat if you want to. I signed up for the $200 unlimited monthly plan and found that skipping 2 days between classes was just right for me to recover. Over the last 2 months I've lost 15 lbs and haven't felt this strong or flexible in years. I've taken all of their instructor's classes and they are all professional, experienced, positive and supportive. I would agree with some of the other reviews on here that some of the instructors could be more helpful to the newbies on the 'how' to do the movement better or which muscle it's working, but frankly I'm getting many benefits from these classes. Sumbody has new equipment, 7 day a week, small (under 9 person) classes in a clean and convenient location with street parking. The other members are really very nice and supportive, even those who can bend themselves into a pretzel while I cry quietly to myself on the Reformer. I never did Pilates before my buddy dragged me here in late 2011. I quickly became hooked. I have been going regularly now for over 3 months. Disclaimer: I am a guy and I only go to the "abs" intensive classes, I have never been to the general pilates classes. It's a great workout for abs in less than an hour and due to the machines and variation, it keeps it interesting (as opposed to just doing a bunch of crunches or sit-ups). If you can get in a class with Heather (the owner) you'll be happy. She is great. I have had different instructors and they are all good, but Heather rocks!!! read more

Have been here for several times. This is a nice and clean place. I think this is just the traditional pilates, the workload is actually not very intensive for me. There are more elder people. Don't know if just I got there not a right time. The pilates circuit practice is actually a better workout, or more intense. I was recommended to go to Sumbody by a friend who has been obsessed with Pilates for years and is always convincing me that it is the best workout to get the kind of body I want. After quite a bit of convincing, I decided to give it a try. I was really nervous about going as I had never taken a Pilates class before and I'm not exactly in the best shape. But I'm so glad I did! I went to a class mid-week with the instructor, Janet. The studio was nice and clean, but there are loads of nice places here in LA. What is really important to me, is the instructors and how I am treated, and that's what sets Sumbody studio apart from other gyms, fitness studios, classes that I have taken. Janet was really sweet and made me feel at ease even though I clearly didn't know what I was doing at first. She was also really knowledgeable and a really attentive instructor who took the time to help me (without making me feel like an idiot!) so I'll definitely be taking more classes with her in the future. Hopefully if I do enough classes, my body will start to look more like hers! read more

I had my very first pilates class there the other day, and everyone was wonderful. The staff was hefpful, and so were the other students. There wasnt any pretense , the music was pleasant, and you were able to vary the level of dificulty if needed. Best of all, was the fact that all of the students had very flat stomachs! A true sign of the efficacy of their traing. I have had two classes now with two seperate teachers, and i will definitely be taking many more classes there. read more

I purchased a living social for Sumbody in Santa Monica and was so impressed with this studio. The instructors are great! I found out that the owner is one of the first Pilates instructors to introduce Pilates here in Los Angeles, she has been teaching for 18 years, and I had the pleasure of being in all of her classes. I expressed my lower back pain that I have been experiencing and she knew exactly which exercises to give me. I even signed up for private lessons and used their acupuncturist. Three weeks ago I tried pilates for the first time ever here, and I can't be happier! If you're a local, I highly recommend walking in to register or sign up because it only takes a few minutes. Miss Heather was my very first instructor, and welcomed me to join her class even though I had walked in just a few minutes earlier (some one had just cancelled). I'm surprised to see some of the reviews below because even though there was a full house at my first class (with all 8 reformers machines being occupied), miss Heather was very attentive to my needs and would always come over when I needed a gentle touch to correct my form. The regular women who come here are very friendly, polite, and helpful (they're mostly in their 50s-60s with a few younger ladies here and there). The over all vibe at Sumbody is one of a supportive and easy going community. The workout is SAH GOOD. I felt aches in muscles I didn't even know existed! However, you should also be prepared to leave your ego at the door because you may find yourself shaking and sweating buckets as you try to keep up with women in their 60s. read more

Discovered Sumbody pilates studio through LifeBooker and I'm so very glad I did. The location is great since there is plenty of parking nearby and it's not visible from the street like some other studios where people just gawk at the window as you work out...too distracting for me. The instructors are all great and have their different styles... I like mixing it up by taking different classes throughout the week so I don't get bored, but that's just me. I can be a bit of clown especially when paired with another clown and it was welcomed by the owner, Heather. I guess you can look at it as free entertainment... we're usually in the pm classes after work *hint hint*. Now for the good stuff. I've lost 2 dress sizes in a month doing pilates and I'm freakin' ecstatic about it! I have painful herniated discs in my lower back and neck ...well I should say 'had' painful herniations because by strengthening, the pain is almost gone...yay! I'm obsessed with pilates now actually and on my way there now for the abs reformer class with T which will kick your b*#&! I got a Groupon for eight classes, was able to get in (1), that's one class, over a 4 month period, due to a cancellation on Rosh Hashanah, otherwise, it was impossible to reserve a class even 4 weeks in advance. Your system doesn't work Sumbody! So what I thought was a great deal turned out to be one class, taught by a really bored teacher for $85.00! And it wasn't even private. Go figure. Sumbody, please don't offer Groupons if you can't fulfill them. I called the Studio City location several times, with no response. Oh, and the safety issue, the teacher never asked, if we had any prior Pilates experience, or corrected us. Nada. Nothing. Zilch. And from other reviews, it seems I'm not alone. The first time I ever took Pilates was 6 month ago at Sumbody to get toned before my wedding. I took classes 4 to 5 days a week after work and on weekends. All the instructors are wonderful and experienced - Heather, Khaled and Janet. 3 month later my friends asked me what diet I was on because my body looked great. I told them, no diet, it was all Pilates! I got married a few weeks ago and received even more complements! I told everyone I have Sumbody to thank. So pleased to have found this local studio, great pricing on excellent classes, lots of classes to choose from, clean and bright studio, nice fellow students, easy breezy parking and my body is getting super toned. My favorite teacher Kathy, teaches on Tuesday and Thursday at 10 am, the class goes by so fast, she plays really upbeat fun music which keeps the pace of the class going. I love her teaching style, my body feels toned and tightened after each class and I actually look forward to working out. read more

Just bought a Groupon for this place,very cheap so I said I will try , There's no way to get human person over the phone,they never answer studio city and Santa Monica ! Tried to set up an appointment on line,also not friendly at all! Now I'm stuck with voucher I paid for and no where to go and redeem it! Horrible! read more

I'll start saying that this place is the worst studio I've ever been. I've been a pilates enthusiasts for about 4 years and this place has terrible instructors that don't pay attention to the students and/or the form. They are also rude and more concerned about checking their own butt in the mirror than correcting the students. Also, the routines are always the same and the reformers are old and squeaky. I bought a 10 classes deal and after only three classes I feel my whole body falling apart. Don't get injured! Go to a profesional studio with real pilates instructors. read more

Bought a Groupon thru Groupon. The studio is appointment only. But the catch is- they never answer phone or return call or respond to emails I sent trying to sign up for classes. Outrageous! Also tried to sign up online too. But unless you purchased your Groupon through their website you can't sign up. My niece also bought Groupon, also couldn't reach so she went to the studio to see about signing up and the door was locked. She could see them working out inside but they didn't come over to let her in. Good business practice. read more

This was probably one of the worst workouts I've ever experienced. The instructor didn't even greet me even though I was the only person there. 5 mins after the class was scheduled to start she said she wanted to wait a few minutes for more people to show up. One more did, and the instructor started, but didn't ask if we were new or had any injuries or show us the machine (luckily I've done Pilates before, but I couldn't imagine if this was my first time on a reformer, yikes). I hate to rag on the instructor, but she kept snacking during the workout, and she seemed more interested in her own workout. The only correction I got was putting equipment back. She clearly had no interest in being there and paid no attention to form. Aside from not getting a good workout, someone could get seriously injured. The other girl in class kept telling her she couldn't hear the instructions and the instructor would reply, oh just pull there, without getting up to help her or repeat louder or turn down the music. In general, she was very unclear with all the instructions and hard to follow, flew through the movements, wasn't watching us at all, never used our names or even asked for them. You don't have to be personable I guess...?! But at least approachable. It was such a waste of time :/ at the end of the class, the instructor bolted out of there before both of us students. I don't think I've ever left a workout feeling crappier then when I walked in. In general, this place is hard to find! It's upstairs in suite E. I tried calling but no one picked up, so I spent some time walking around to find it and there weren't any signs that I saw where they listed Sumbody or their suite number. In fact, the entire complex looks deserted :/ No one greeted me when I walked in, even when I was trying to find a place to change. A simple hello would have been nice. For parking, there is a paid parking lot, but I'm not sure if they offer validation. There is metered street but if you're lucky you can find a free 2 hour space! The equipment is old, torn and dirty (though it is white, which must be hard to keep clean). But this older reformer seems unsafe with a bar that can snap down and not lock in place, and no stable place for your feet (for exercises like skating). The decor is two disco balls on ceiling. No one seems to work at the front desk, and there is no place to really change (I had to change in a doctor's office/ massage room). I walked out and the girl at the front desk didn't bother saying goodbye or asking how it was. Pretty disappointed. My advice: Pilates is a great low-impact workout! Each class is usually only as good as its instructor, though management of each studio can filter down. Try another studio, get a groupon or classpass and explore til you find the right fit. You'll love it :) read more

Not the greatest experience. I tried this place through Classpass and it was my first reformer class EVER. There were 4 of us in the class. Granted I haven't been to a reformer class before, but I noticed the equipment was a little run down. I had some trouble with the springs unlocking and locking again throughout the workout. With that said, what the hell are springs? What is the box? How do I put down my headrest? What do you mean place the bar down? The reformer was completely new to me, and I feel like the teacher could have been a little more patient with me or taken the time to show me how to do things. I felt a little rushed and luckily the girl next to me helped me. The music was not good either. I didn't really break a sweat either. I'm going to try a different studio. read more
